Haru: Hey Mika I've got good news and bad news, good news is I've found Elara, bad news is she's inside my game.
Mika: what how is that possible?!
Haru: Hey Mika bring out the energy drinks, this will be a long night.
Haru got to his gaming computer and went through a list of his friends. Some were highlighted in green indicating that they were online and he typed a message.
[To all members Chaos purger guild, this is your guild master speaking, you are required to login into the game, Knight of the goddess for a new mission.]
Soon Haru's screen began to fill up with excited responses Haru logged in using an avatar he named king, true to its name this avatar was designed like a king, wearing legendary items in the form of regalia, as soon as he logged in he found a himself on a throne at a round table with twelve other seats.
This round table was a made for the elites of the guild although at present out of all twelve only five were available.
First was Mika's character a golden haired priestess wielding a holy staff, her name was Stellar and her specialty in healing earned her the nickname, the immortal one.
next to her was a much smaller and cuter girl, she wore a witch's hat and a magic staff much taller than her floated beside her right her name was Mai, nickname the baba yaga.
Across the table was a paladin equipped with platinum armor, his bulky and towering figure have him an ominous presence his name was Yama, nickname the gentle giant. Next to him was another wearing the armor of a samurai, a flat hat covered the top part of his face, giving him a dark, cool aura, two katanas were secured at his side one hand unconsciously gripping one, his name is Juta nicknamed the night bringer.
Although he had a dark aura it was no where near the darkest in the room, right across the round table from where Haru sat was a dark figure dressed in a Ninja's outfit, she went by the name Kuna, nickname the abyss' shadow, her eyes held the emptiness of a void that would make nearly anyone who looked into them lost.
Haru: Ok it's five of chaos purger guild's champions are here, that's not a bad number get ready to mobilize, we are going dragon hunting.
Juta: wow boss haven't seen you this fired up for a hunt, spill it what's the real objective.
Stellar: yeah I was literally about to ask the same thing, you're like an open book reading your intentions isn't exactly hard which is why I always beat you in pocker.
Haru: wow is it that obvious, well for now just know that this is a rescue mission, I'll explain later.
Kuna: enough chit chat let's activate the scenario already.
Haru: ok.
Suddenly they all stood and the room went white in front of them was a beautiful lady who's skin glowed like the sun, the only word that could describe her was divine, Haru walked forward and the goddess addressed him.
Goddess: Brave hero, I ask that you lend us your aid once more. A dragon is laying waste to the kingdom of the east.
Haru: I accept, let's go guys.
As Haru said this an eagle took shape on his shoulder before flying upwards, transforming and landed in front of the six , the eagle was now larger enough to mount an dHaru was the first to get on, the others followed and with a single beat of its wings the eagle ascended and took to the skies.
Meanwhile up ahead an intense battle was already taking place, a female knight found herself dashing along the back of a creature that blocked the sun just by flying overhead, the knight took a powerful leap and she found herself face to face with the dragon.
It opened it's wide jaws but but the Elara twisted to the side barely dodging the massive jaws, feeling the hot breath as it flew by, her blade took on a bright glow as one of the dragon's wings closed in, she slashed hoping to slice it clean off but she underestimated the durability of dragon scales and her sword failed to penetrate and instead the knight was hit by the wing talking a lot of damage in the process but that was the last off her worries.
Gravity became her new enemy as it pulled her to the ground at break neck speed, Elara quickly survuiled her surrounding hoping for a good place to land but the dragon was already charging towards her again
Elara: I've slain many a beast but few bore this level of persistence.
Quickly she devised a plan and spread out her limbs to slow her decent. As the dragon zoomed underneath she performed a maneuver that allowed her to avoid directly landing on the dragon's back but allowed her to swerve to the side, acting quickly she charged her blade and thrust into the dragon's side, thankfully it penetrated and began to cut through, this slowed her fall and injured the dragon in the process but before she could celebrate the dragon began to ascend.
Elara retracted the blade causing herself to fall but she then thrust it into the back , at this point the dragon flipped and the sudden shift in gravity caught her off guard causing her to let go of the sword and free fall once again but this time the dragon's jaw lay agape right beneath her, soon she was inside and the dragon shut its jaws.
But in the final seconds before its jaws claspes a golden flash made its way through, and whatever the flash was had robbed the dragon of its meal.
Meanwhile Elara had her eyes shut waiting for the worst, she could feel herself moving at tremendous speeds with a lot of wind blowing against her, contrary to the hot and stuffy environment she expected the dragon's mouth to be, after some time she held a loud crash and she felt herself abruptly stop, she then opened her eyes and found herself surrounded by dust and someone was carrying her.
When the dust cleared the first thing she saw was the reflection of the sun on a crown that lay comfortably on the head of a handsome man dressed like a king, he had black flowing eyes and it looked like his eyes contained the cosmos. Something about the way the man looked felt familiar but she couldn't tell what, a deep voice escaped his lips as he talked to her.
King: Tell me why a gorgeous damsel such as yourself is out here fighting a dragon.
Elara was left speechless for a while and soon five other figures appeared up in the sky a giant eagle had just engaged the dragon into a ferocious battle for the sky, the king put Elara down and looked at a small witch.
King: Baba yaga, let's make a cage for our dragon friend over there.
Witch: with pleasure.
Suddenly her staff floated into her hand and struck the ground, the earth responsed with a deep rumble and soon large structures began to emerge these trees were so large and tall that they defied reason, each trunk wider than a house and each tree so tall they touched the clouds, they formed a ring around the area the dragon and the eagle did battle.
King: Aquila is reaching her limit, flying us here took enough energy out of her she won't be able to take down that dragon we'll need to join the fray.
Juta: say less my king.
The samurai charged at incredible speeds followed by the ninja and the paladin. Stellar the healer was attending to Elara who'd just snapped back to reality.
Stellar: Oh man I was so worried when it looked the dragon ate you, it's a good thing Haru was quick to react, although I'm a little jealous of you, Haru princess carried you.
Elara: Wait that king is Haru, why did you never tell me he was royalty.
Stellar: oh right now we are in a game, that's just his avatar.
Elara: Avatar?
Haru: it's complicated we'll explain later, right now you and that dragon are our top priorities and with that said I'm impressed by how much of its HP you took on your own, we'll take it from here, let's go Mika.
The little witch tapped the ground with her staff once again and and some large vines took hold of them and took them to the battlefield, they found the dragon already fighting the three elites.
Juta was running along it's taking notice and marvelling at some of the injuries Elara had inflicted, as he approached the neck he took a short leap drawing both blades at once, for a moment he took a deep breath and the world around him disappeared, suddenly he slashed and a metallic sound was heard as his blades broke through the dragon's scales, they dug into it's flesh leaving a shallow wound on the shape of an x, he began to fall to the ground but a vine caught him and placed him slowly on the ground next to the ninja and the paladin.
Juta: that bastard is pretty tough, I intended on taking it's head clean off with that attack, the devs really buffed up it's defense.
Kuna: Or it could be that you're just too weak.
Juta: what'd you say! You trying to pick a fight or something?!
Yama: Please you two there's a better time for this right now our opponent is-
Suddenly a loud roar could be heard accompanied by a bright flash that violently made its way to the trio, in an instant Yama stood in front of the both of them and summoned a shield, the moment the flash hit a force field surrounded the trio protecting it from the attack. The area around was annihilated.
Juta: damn that attack would be enough to one shot anyone who takes it head on, luckily we have you the gentle giant, someone dumb enough to invest all your stats in defense and vitality.
Yama: was that supposed to be a compliment?!
Before he could answer the dragon appeared above and descending heavily on the trio, Yama shielded them but the force caused the ground beneath him to begin to cave in.
The dragon was trying to crash them with its weight but because of this it didn't pay enough attention to its environment to see Haru's attack which was a golden slash that hit the dragon with so much force the dragon was sent flying, temporarily stunned. The six were now reunited. Suddenly a strange orb appeared followed by the a high pitched and lively voice of another player.
Haru: Crap I hoped we could end this before she appeared.
Player: Hey guys this is your favourite streamer Gako, we arrived in time to witness something phenomenal, the chaos purger guild has united to defeat the new dragon boss of knight of the goddess, Unfortunately only six of the elites are present and those are King, the immortal one, baba yaga...
Juta: Let's wrap this u before too many people log in and server crashes... Again.
Kuna: that's the smartest thing you've said today.
Juta: Why thank you - wait how dare you I've said a lot of smart things!
Kuna: like what?
Juta: like... The... dragon's defense... Ah yes the dragon's defense.
Kuna: it took you that long to think of something, and besides anyone can tell the dragon's defense has been buffed up.
Haru: Enough guys we need to wrap things up.
They unanimously agreed and turned their attention to the dragon which was rising from the rubble of its previous crash. On instinct they all dashed towards the dragon at blinding speeds, overhead vines shot out to attack the dragon but in defense the dragon lifted up it's head and light beams began to enter its mouth as the veins in its neck let off a glow as energy coursed through.
Haru: It's attacking again, Yama quick.
Yama: On it .
With a burst of speed Yama was ahead of everyone, a shield materialized in time to block the energy beam the dragon launched at them, the whole team was blinded for a short while but when they regained sight the dragon was gone, soon everyone looked behind as they heard the flapping wings, to their surprise the dragon was nosediving at speeds that made its mouth set ablaze, despite this no one was worried because they knew one thing for sure, Yama would protect them, and just as they thought Yama used a skill to teleport in front of them, then they all exclaimed in shock of what they were seeing.
For some reason Yama hadn't equipped his shield and his fist let of vigorous glow, Yama took a step heavily planting his foot in the ground and securing his position before clenching his fist, at this point the dragon was right in front of him, with a powerful punch he sent it off track, the dragon's huge body turned and Yama ran forward dodging the huge falling mass, he then took hold of its tail and once again planted his feet into the ground hoping to pin the dragon down.
Mai understood this and the little used her magic to make roots grow around Yama's feet to further secure his position but both underestimated the dragon, with a beat of its wings it rose pulling Yama who held its tail tight, with another flap the ground around his feet began to crack, with the third flap it pulled him from the grip of Mai's roots and took him to the sky, the dragon moved forward feeling his weight on its tail it intended on smashing him against a wall, it flew towards one of Mai's trees and at the last moment turned upwards, Yama was heading towards the trunk with tremendous force but to the dragons dismay, he thought fast and let his feet be the first to hit the trunk, he then began to run along the trunk as the dragon ascended, as he did this thick vines wrapped around his hand and his other hand gripped the tail of the dragon, the dragon tried to change direction but the tension between its tail and the tree that stubbornly held on to Yama caused the dragon to lose altitude and begin to crash, and it hit the ground with a heavy this that resulted in a huge dust cloud.
Haru: Juta !
Juta: Yes boss!
That simple exchange was enough for Juta to understand Haru's intentions and he closed the distance between him and the tree the dragon crashed next to, with a single slash from both his katanas the tree toppled falling slowly, a looming shadow covered the dragon and it saw the tree above it descending slowly, the dragon tried to take flight but something held it down, when it looked it saw Yama still holding its tail, covered head to toe in roots, the dragon desperately flapped its and the tree crashed raising a lot of dust.
Haru: did we get it?
Suddenly Yama emerged from the ground.
Yama: Dragon my foot! That thing is just a glorified lizard, it disconnected its tail in the last moment.
A huge shadow rose from the ground, it was the dragon, tail clearly absent, Haru looked at Kuna.
Haru: Kuna go get him.
Kuna: Finally, it'a time to have some fun.
Suddenly she teleported. She appeared on its back, she performed quick movements with her hands and struck the dragon's back and a dark symbol appeared in its back. Suddenly everything went still and Kuna spoke .
Kuna: Ultimate skill, Hour of the abyss.
Suddenly a dark veil surrounded the dragon, time inside the veil slowed to a crawl and suddenly the dragon bore witness to a horrifying sight, before it was a monster, this monster had tendrils emerging from every direction, it had countless eyes that had pupils darker than the void they were currently trapped within, thirdly mouths began to appear, each contained long teeth, the dragon sensed a presence above it, when it looked it saw Kuna but she had a different outfit, it was a dress made of shadow and just like the abyss that surrounded them, the dress had eyes mouths and tendrils, she pointed her finger at the dragon and suddenly it became the center of attention, attacks came from all sides, tendrils struck it , mouths bit out chunks of it flesh it only defense was its scaled but even those were being destroyed.
The dragon's abdomen suddenly let a bright glow and the veins along it's neck did the same, the dragon the opened its mouth and a bright light shot out and the launched energy in every direction. Outside the veil behaved erratically, taking on different shapes and light periodically escaped but it was to no avail the dragon couldn't get out, its health was dropped to a quarter and it began to enter a frenzy, light gathered in its wings and it flapped them, the light particles behaved like dust as it spread through the abyss, this confused Kuna but the moment a tendril made contact with a single light particle it set off a chain reaction, explosions filled the void and Kuna couldn't maintain it, the void was replaced by a mushroom cloud and the dragon emerged with a triumphant roar.
Haru: Stellar go attend to Kuna I'll take it from here, lend me you strength guys.
They all nodded and Haru made his way to the dragon, dodging the explosions resulting from the light particles that the dragon released, when he got closer he leaped, and suddenly wings emerged from his back as he rose to the sky standing face to face with the dragon.
Haru: this was a fun battle but it's high time this came to an end, time to go all out, activate Galaxy king transformation.
Haru gripped his sword with both hands and muttered a short incantation before being enveloped by a bright light, a large amount of energy was released and when the light cleared Haru stood with a new outfit, he wore a cape of starlight, his crown was made of the flames of a star, an emblem shaped like a galaxy rested on the chestplate of his cosmic armor.
This armor was a reward from defeating a boss that was much much stronger than the dragon as result Haru gave the dragon a condescending look.
Haru: This ends now.
As he said this he raised his hand and suddenly the atmosphere above him parted letting a sword descend, Haru caught it and charged it with energy.
Haru: Ultimate skill, Heaven splitting slash!
When he said this the sword released a beam the pierced the skies, sensing the danger the dragon tried to fly away but the trees blocked its retreat, Haru swung the arm that gripped the blade and with it brought the wrath of the heavens in the form of starlight, the last thing the dragon saw was a bright light filled with tiny flashes and in the next moment the half of the battlefield it stood on was covered in bright light, this was followed by an explosion that other players maps away could see, this explosion was so large it escaped the planet and taking out a large chunk of the moon . Every player watching's jaw dropped, when the light disappeared nothing remained from the dragon except the core of the dragon floating in solitude above a huge ravine created by Haru's attack. Haru sheathes his blade and descended to the place his teammates stood.
Stellar: Hey wasn't that a little overkill.
Haru: this is the first time I've used that skill I never thought it'd be so powerful.
Juta: Hey why are all my skills on cooldown?!
Haru: Oh that's because of my skill, Galaxy king mode is made even stronger by my subordinates, and it's ultimate skill uses alm your skills at on-
A loud roar suddenly interrupted Haru, they looked behind and saw the dragon regenerating a pop up appeared in front of each of their profiles.
[ Dragon is using skill last resistance: Skill restores 10% HP and trades all defense for attack power]
The dragon began to charge up a blast that was larger than anything it produced in the entire fight.
Haru: Those sneaky devs added this on purpose, they designed this dragon to counter us specifically, this is bad none of us have the attack power to kill the dragon and Yama defense skills are all on cooldown same goes for Stellar, in simple words we are cooked .
Just when a hope seemed lost a figure dashed past Haru, seeing this figure made Haru smirk.
Juta: Oh look it's that NPC that was fighting the dragon when we got here
.
Stellar: She's not an NPC, that's Elara. Go get him girl, give that dragon hell !!!
Elara dashed leaving dust in her wake, meanwhile a pop-up appeared in front of Haru's screen and once again he smirked before accepting.
Suddenly Elara felt something, its like like something took over, whatever it was felt familiar, it was the same thing that took over whenever she fought in her previous world, it felt like an instinct and she trusted it, once this happened she dashed even faster, in the middle of running she summoned her blade and leaped at this point the dragon's attack had shaped up into a ball of energy, Elara was sure she would kill it before it attacked but suddenly wyverns made of the dragon's energy attacked her, Elara skillfully cut through each wyvern that came her way and she when she was right in front of the dragon she gripped her sword mimicking Haru's earlier movements, energy encased her blade and she shouted.
Elara: Heaven splitting slash!
Despite lacking in attack power compared to Haru's version, Elara's precision allowed her to cut through the dragon's blast and through it body splitting it into two.
Kuna: wow she cut through despite its tough scales, so Juta really is just weak.
Juta: I'm not weak she managed because the dragon's defense has been nerfed!
Suddenly the dragon exploded launching her backwards and causing her to lose consciousness. When she came to She found herself on a bench, in front of her was a beautiful lake illuminated by the moon, this beautiful view robbed her of breath, nad she marvelled at the sight.
Haru: you're finally up, I was getting worried back there.
Haru's appearance spooked her but before she could get shocked Haru dozed off and lay his head on her shoulder, his crown pocking Elara's face, she removed it, placed it at her side then gently placed his head on her lap. Then stroked his hair, suddenly Haru got up and tried to get off but Elara held his head down.
Elara: I bid thee rest, you've earned it my king.
With this Haru closed his eyes and drifted to sleep. Suddenly Elara found herself in the real world once again, she found Haru asleep on his game chair, a half empty energy drink in his hand and his VR goggles still on, Elara couldn't help giggling at the sight, this was contrary to the kingly side he showed in-game. She tucked him into bed neatly putting his stuff in order before sleeping in the futon he prepared.
Meanwhile in the office of large company someone watched Gaku's stream of the fight between the dragon and the Chaos purger guild, the person paused on a scene where Elara was in the air about to end the dragon. The figure dialed a number on a phone and someone answered.
???: I believe I've found the gamer who beat last warrior, I'd like you guys to make an event and make sure the chaos purger's show up, especially Haru.
Voice: yes sir, we'll work on it right away.
