Chapter 86 - Escape

Renzo walked up to the boy, stretched out his foot, and kicked his leg.

"Hello? Kree?"

Thump!

Clap, clap, clap!

Cartel instantly knelt down and slapped himself across the face again and again. The criminals around him did not seem surprised by this scene. Some even laughed obscenely. Apparently, they had also received his "services."

Those were the Kree. There were many races in this prison whose homeworlds had been invaded by the Kree, and some were even the only surviving offspring of their entire race.

But this was the first time Renzo had seen him. He was so frightened that he took a few steps back, thinking there must be something wrong with the kid's brain. He had clearly done nothing.

"Stop moving, stop moving!"

Renzo looked at the boy in front of him, who was slapping himself crazily. Blood was already oozing slightly from the corner of his mouth. His originally thin face had become swollen, and his original appearance could no longer be seen.

Cartel could not hear what the man in front of him was saying at all. He only knew that if he did not satisfy them, he would definitely suffer an even more violent outburst.

"I told you to stop!"

A strong hand suddenly grabbed the arm Cartel was about to swing down, and the Kree boy felt that the hand was cold.

Only then did Cartel raise his head tremblingly, his eyes filled with numbness after being tortured. He did not look like a child at all, but more like a corpse.

Renzo let go of his hand and frowned. It did not matter to him how the people in the prison were doing, but as a basic person, he still had the most basic sympathy.

He decided to turn around and leave. Maybe letting the kid stay in the corner would make him feel a little safer.

Renzo casually grabbed a prisoner by the collar and asked him about the prison's structure and guards.

"This prison is under full surveillance. Because a group of fugitives escaped from it a few years ago, Xandar increased the prison's security level."

An alien prisoner who was missing a leg spoke in panic. He clearly remembered how miserable Renzo had made the prison bully before. Now everyone in the prison tightened up whenever they saw Renzo, afraid that something would be stuffed into them too.

"Wasn't Xandar's Nova Corps nearly wiped out? Why would they allocate troops to guard the prison?"

Renzo was very puzzled by this and put a hand to his chin in thought.

Seeing this, the man with the missing leg quickly distanced himself from Renzo, fearing that he would go crazy. Everyone almost stayed away from him and returned to their respective cells.

For the next five days, Renzo stayed in the prison during the day, asking the inmates questions to learn about Xandar's social structure and gossip. At night, he did not need to sleep. Using the Mind Stone, he controlled the prison guards, turned himself intangible, and explored the routes, searching for traces of the Power Stone.

By the way, it did not hurt to connect to Xandar's network, quickly browse their information, and learn more about them.

In five nights, he had almost finished exploring the structure of Xandar and the Nova Corps, and the Power Stone was almost certainly in the office building where the supreme commander of the Nova Corps was located.

"Irani, that woman?" Renzo fell into deep thought. He did not want to antagonize Xandar yet. After all, they were not an evil force. It was normal for everyone to think about themselves. If it were him, he would also try his best to seize an Infinity Stone.

In fact, that was exactly what he was doing.

Renzo knocked on the table, and the inmates surrounding him seemed to have seen a ghost. Like seawater at low tide, they immediately scattered.

Cartel, this Kree kid, now dared to sit at the table and eat. After Renzo punished the original prison bully, he had become the new prison bully. In just five days, the entire prison had begun listening to Renzo's words. The former prison bully had now been sent to clean the toilets.

Cartel looked at Renzo with admiration, but timidly shrank toward the edge, though his eyes remained locked on Renzo.

This was what he wanted to be—free and easy, unafraid of difficulties, powerful...

Cartel ate the food in his bowl without hesitation. There was a pile of mushy vegetables whose original shape could no longer be seen clearly, and a hard piece of something similar to a radish root. This was the prisoners' three meals a day, the food they had eaten for the past few years. Although it did not look good, it was still nutritious, and the criminals would not starve to death.

He hurriedly passed behind Renzo and ran back and forth many times, hoping that Renzo would look at him for even a moment, just one glance!

Renzo had no time and did not notice that he had inadvertently attracted a little fanboy. He was currently thinking about how to take away the Power Stone and choose the optimal plan, one that would not make Xandar his enemy and would allow him to obtain the gem naturally.

Renzo scratched his head in embarrassment. In his thinking, unless Xandar was invaded by an external force again and he came to save it, it would be impossible for them to hand over the Power Stone willingly.

Thump!

The sound behind him startled Renzo, and he almost jumped up from his stool.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

Cartel had fallen face-first to the ground after tripping over something. He had fallen hard and almost broken the bridge of his nose. He covered his nose in pain because he did not want to embarrass himself in front of his idol.

Renzo's eyes twitched. Were all Kree children this stupid? They did not seem very smart, so how had they managed to become overlords of the universe? Was it just luck?

As far as Renzo was concerned, the Kree Empire in the movies was really disappointing. The Skrulls next door could take the Illuminati away for research. Although they had finally been discovered by Tony, who had no superpowers, that history remained deep in the hearts of Marvel fans.

Ronan, the strongest man in the Kree Empire, had been defeated by a group of street guys. The members of the so-called elite team could not pilot a spaceship as well as a Black woman from Earth. This was unbelievable, brothers!

Renzo just wanted to get up and leave. It was time to prepare to seize the Power Stone. Thanos would come to Earth in less than a year. He still had four other Infinity Stones he had not collected, and there were also tasks assigned by the Watcher from time to time. He could not waste any more time here.

Even if he had to rob them, he had to get it!

"Wait a moment!"

A hoarse voice stopped Renzo. When he turned around, he saw the Kree boy lowering his head obediently, not daring to raise it and look directly at Renzo's face.

Cartel carefully paid attention to other people's gazes and pulled Renzo to an inconspicuous place.

"Are you trying to escape from prison?"

Cartel looked around with some fear. He did not know where to put his hands and nervously tugged at the corners of his clothes. They were covered with sweat, oil stains, and a few holes.

Renzo looked at the boy in front of him with some surprise. For the past five days, the boy had been huddled aside, neither speaking nor moving. Only today had he dared to go to the table to eat. He was probably afraid of being bullied.

Renzo just had not expected that Cartel would see through what he was thinking all at once. He had only just made the decision. Could this kid also have superpowers?

The boy's ankle cuffs clattered with every step, but the people around him were obviously used to it and did not pay much attention. After all, he still had to go back to his room and sleep.

"I know how to get out!"

Cartel finally summoned the courage to stare directly at the tall man in front of him.
