Cherreads

Chapter 119 - Rouge Agent

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda from Universe 199999 read the Darkhold, chased Strange and America Chavez into this universe, and used the dreamwalking technique she learned from the Darkhold to project her consciousness into this universe's Wanda. Her strength also increased to a certain extent.

As the NPCs with the most experience, the Illuminati were naturally brushed aside by Wanda like minions. Those few experience points were not even enough for her to level up.

Renzo's face looked a little gloomy. Wanda could easily defeat those heroes, but he was far more restricted than she was. Even with the blessing of three Infinity Stones and the Black Lantern Ring, this universe also had Infinity Stones, and some of them were even in the hands of Earth's heroes.

Renzo was not arrogant enough to challenge all the heroes on Earth.

The whole world was like a game.

If Earth's local heroes were compared to players, then the Infinity Stones were like divine artifacts. Ordinary heroes were average-level players, and Renzo was a pay-to-win boss close to max level. As for Wanda... she was a cheat account kicked out of the group chat.

"New York City has been attacked by an unknown red mist. A large number of New Yorkers have died after inhaling excessive amounts of the mist. It is currently unclear whether this is an infectious disease, an unknown virus, or a deliberate attack..."

"At present, New York City has been completely occupied. The mayor has successfully evacuated to Washington. The situation is now under control. We hope everyone will avoid spreading panic..."

"Bullshit!" Hill shouted angrily. The shop owner also brought over the freshly baked pizza. Hill took a vicious bite, as if she were biting those politicians themselves.

"New York residents are still stranded along the borders, and very few states are willing to accept more than five million refugees, even if they're dispersed."

"Reports about the red mist online have all been restricted. Negative reports appeared for only a few minutes before being removed by the authorities." News about the red mist kept popping up on Renzo's retina. "Their panic and screams can't be fake."

"They only care whether the wild dogs at the top are still alive. The lives and deaths of ordinary people aren't even in their sight." Renzo clicked on the news that the mayor of New York was about to land in Washington. The fat on the politician's face shaped a greasy smile that did not look forced at all.

"I saw through that a long time ago. That's why I never wanted to join the army." Hill finished the pizza in a matter of seconds. She was too hungry. A full day of running around and constant tension, along with the organ weakness caused by inhaling the red mist, had consumed a great deal of energy and fat. Hill had lost a lot of weight.

Even the sugar and water in her body had not been replenished in time. The fact that Hill had managed to hold on without fainting already proved how strong her physical condition was.

Renzo ordered another portion. This woman's appetite was indeed quite large.

"Hmph! New Yorkers... should all die there!" The fat man at the bar took a swig of beer, cursed, and laughed arrogantly.

"Stinking old man, don't touch me!" The shop owner bent down, took a mop, and wiped it back and forth across the white floor tiles. Perhaps because there were few people around, the old man seemed more relaxed.

But old age was old age. His eyes were not as sharp, and his hands did not have enough strength. He accidentally poked the fat man's belly.

There were four or five layers of fat on the man's stomach. Sitting there, he looked like a puddle of melted ice cream, sagging in three layers.

The old man was drinking happily. The television news about New York being invaded by red mist gave this gangster from the bottom of society a rare sense of confidence.

He looked at the rich, middle-class people, and happy families on the TV screen. They all showed frightened faces as they scrambled to board planes to other states or even other countries. They shoved one another, yelling and cursing, completely different from the polished image they usually displayed.

The fat man loved seeing scenes like this. It made him, a foul toad living in the mud, find a little comfort. Those proud white swans would eventually fall into black mud too, no different from a toad like him.

Just as he was enjoying himself, something poked his stomach. An inexplicable anger rushed to his forehead. He slapped the old man beside him, and the fat palm struck the old man so hard that he staggered and nearly fell to the ground.

"Don't you have eyes, you damn old man? Didn't you see I was watching TV?"

"Sorry, sorry!" The old man collapsed to the ground, lowered his head, and replied weakly, not even daring to show anger for fear of offending this gangster.

He was too old. After this year, he would be seventy next year. He could no longer handle manual labor. He could barely survive by relying on this deserted shop. He had no savings and no real money to spend.

When the fat man saw the old man apologizing, his cheap vanity was immediately satisfied. He seemed to regain the pleasure of bullying his classmates back in school, and slapped the old man across the face again.

This blow was truly heavy. It struck the old man until his nose started bleeding. The bridge of his nose seemed to have been broken by that slap, and he fell to the ground, wailing in pain.

"You damn old man, how dare you scream!" The fat man became even angrier when he saw this and began punching and kicking the old man.

"Haha... hahaha... hahaha!" The homeless man huddled in the corner seemed mentally unstable. He could still laugh at such a scene, and his laughter was loud.

"Damn it, what are you laughing at, you crazy old bastard? I didn't hit you, did I?" The fat man immediately stopped beating the shop owner, turned around, and chased the homeless man, preparing to beat him too.

"Huh?" The fat man turned his head and unintentionally caught sight of Hill, who was leaning by the window and eating pizza as if nothing had happened. Her beautiful, heroic face instantly drew the old fat man's attention.

He kicked away the wailing shopkeeper on the ground and walked toward Renzo and Hill's table with a smile.

Boom!

A bottle of beer landed on the table, and the spilled liquor splashed onto Hill, making the woman's expression darken for a moment. She raised her head and met the fat man's eyes.

"It's over. This fat man is doomed!" Renzo sat calmly across from her. Looking at Hill's eyes, he knew the fat man was about to receive a severe beating.

Renzo planned to quietly watch the show, but some people had no intention of letting him watch in peace.

"You! Get out of here!" A large, greasy hand patted Renzo's shoulder, and the stench of a body that had not bathed in who knew how long filled Renzo's nose.

The fat man threatened Renzo to leave his seat. In his opinion, this thin little man was no match for him. He could knock him to the ground with a single punch.

Renzo lowered his head. The fat man with the lewd smile on his face thought he was afraid, so he strengthened his grip slightly and almost lifted Renzo up from his seat.

Renzo did not care. Since this man was courting death, he could not blame Renzo for standing by and watching. After all, the man had lifted him up himself. Renzo wanted to save him, but there was nothing he could do...

The fat man took Renzo's seat and sat across from Hill. His fat face smiled like a chrysanthemum, wrinkled so tightly that his facial features were nearly impossible to distinguish.

"Beauty, interested in having a deeper conversation?" The fat man was direct and went straight to the point. The greed in his eyes was like rising seawater crashing against rocks.

Hill raised her eyebrows and glanced at the man watching the show. Renzo was sitting at the bar with a smile, helping the shop owner up and greeting him cheerfully.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" Seeing that Hill did not even look at him, the fat man suddenly felt as if his self-esteem had been thrown to the ground, and his tone could not help carrying a hint of threat.

"I advise you to understand the situation. Otherwise, your little boyfriend might suffer a little physical pain!" The fat man thought Renzo and Hill were a couple. After all, they had sat together when they came in, talking and laughing, and they were around the same age. It was normal to misunderstand.

Renzo did not care. If this man could make even a small hole in his body, Renzo would immediately drown himself in a bucket of filth, take off the Infinity Stones and throw them into a wishing fountain, then finally cut off his head and donate it to the Chinese football team.

He wanted to see how badly Hill would deal with this fat man.

Disdain appeared at the corner of Hill's mouth. She suddenly turned her head and smiled brightly at the fat man. Her delicate face instantly exuded boundless charm.

Hill was not ugly to begin with. Her beautiful appearance and heroic temperament showed how extraordinary she was. However, she usually dressed a little too neutrally, and her exceptional execution and mission-completion ability made the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. forget that the deputy director in front of them was a woman.

Her light was so dazzling that her other traits disappeared beneath it.

"Of course. I really want to try the feeling of another man." Hill deliberately pretended to be a soft girl, with a hint of coquettishness in her tone. Renzo was so frightened that he almost slipped from his seat. Women... were truly good at acting.

"Nick Fury should go to Hollywood and collect a group of movie stars under him."

Renzo was speechless, but the next part made him look forward to it even more. Just thinking about it was exciting.

The fat man smiled, thinking Hill had yielded to his lust. He immediately stood up and reached for the woman across from him with his large, greasy hands.

Crack!

"Ah!"

The sound of bones breaking suddenly lingered in the shop. Hill had easily broken the fat man's arm, which was thick and covered in fat. It now bent unnaturally, with the elbow facing downward and the joint bones pushing out through the flesh.

The fat man instantly let out a scream. His huge body fell to the ground with a bang, and he kept wailing while clutching his broken arm.

"No, that's it? I haven't even warmed up yet." Hill's soft voice reached the fat man's ears, and he rubbed against the ground in fear. Just now, her voice had sounded heavenly to him. Now, it was like a devil's whisper, calling him to flee toward hell.

"Don't, don't run. Weren't we having such a good chat just now? Why did you wilt the moment you stepped on stage?" Hill said as she slowly walked to the fat man's side.

She kicked out.

Her black boot slammed hard into his bulging belly, so hard that the fat man spat out all the beer he had just drunk.

The stench came with unsightly vomit. Renzo could not help feeling nauseated just looking at it and hurriedly hid behind the bar, afraid that such a disgusting thing would splash onto him.

The fat man reluctantly opened his tiny eyes to a slit. The demon wearing human skin was still staring at him. In his eyes, the long leg that had been withdrawn looked like a sheep's hoof burning with hellfire.

Hill had also become the messenger of the devil Satan left in the world, baring fangs and flames ferociously. The fat man was so scared that he simply fainted, his head soaking in his own vomit.

Renzo pretended not to see it.

"That was a bit harsh. I thought you'd just beat him up and throw him out of the store at most." Renzo spoke sarcastically, but he had wanted to see what an extraordinary female agent looked like when she was angry.

"That makes sense." Hill nodded, picked up one of the fat man's feet, dragged him outside, and threw him out of the shop.

Renzo also went out, but... he seemed to have forgotten something.

The shop owner was cleaning the dirty floor with bruises on his head, while the homeless man was still huddled in the corner, licking the greasy plate and smiling foolishly.

"Can you... swipe a card?" Renzo turned around, stuck his head back in, and asked hesitantly.

...

"Reed developed a barrier device that covers the map of New York. It has indeed stopped the spread of the red mist."

In a shabby little hotel, Hill held a laptop and stared at the screen.

"But it's only temporary. The concentration of the red mist will grow greater and greater. Once the barrier breaks, the consequences will far exceed normal spread and may even cause an explosion." Renzo leaned against the window, stretching his head outside as he looked at the night stars hanging high in the dark sky, faint yet dazzling.

"You spoke to Nick Fury on the phone. Haven't the people from S.H.I.E.L.D. found this place yet?"

"I told them not to worry about me for now. I have my plan." Hill held the computer and spoke without raising her head. Renzo was not interested in prying into other people's privacy, so he did not understand what this woman was doing.

In the clear starry sky, one or two meteors occasionally fell and vanished, brief as a flash in the pan.

Renzo looked at the clean sky and could not help thinking of the days when he and Wanda had been together. The two of them would wear pajamas, lie on the roof, and count stars, competing to see who could count the most. Wanda would cover his eyes to stop him from looking.

Crimson magic would turn into a layer of gauze, covering Renzo's eyes, and then she would secretly kiss him. The two would start making trouble on the rooftop.

But in the end, Renzo would be violently beaten and then thrown from the roof by Wanda.

"Sick!" Seeing the silly smile on Renzo's face, Hill could not help cursing, then lowered her head and continued looking at the notebook.

"I just miss home..."

Hill fell silent.

Home?

That concept was somewhat distant to her. Her mother had died on the day she was born, and her father hated her because of it, believing she was the cause of his wife's death.

But he still had to raise this "murderer."

When Hill was a child, she had also wanted praise from her father, but every time, she was ignored or dismissed entirely.

She still remembered the look in her father's eyes, as if he were looking at an enemy.

Hill's current cold personality had also been shaped by her childhood. An agent even colder than Natasha, the second-in-command of S.H.I.E.L.D... was born.
