Chapter 4 - Davin's Spy

That morning at Davin's house, Liana and her parents had breakfast together in the dining room while occasionally chatting with each other.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Daniel and Rendy are getting ready to go to Liana's house. They carried large travel bags containing several pieces of clothing, food, drinks, snacks, lectures, power banks and so on in their respective travel bags.

Exactly at 5 am, the two young men arrived at the Wijaya family's magnificent and spacious residence. They got on Daniel's motorbike, then Daniel turned off the engine, got off the motorbike, then pressed the bell button on the wall of Liana's house.

Ting tong ... ting tong...

From the direction of the dining room, they could clearly hear the sound of the bell in front of their house. Liana quickly put her cutlery on the plate, then she got up from the dining room to open the gate for Daniel.

"Liana, wait. Who came to our house so early?" Kimberly asked Liana probingly.

"Hmm ... maybe it was Daniel who came, Mom." Liana smiled faintly.

"What?? So, you invited Daniel to go on holiday with you guys??" Davin widened his eyes.

Liana nodded slowly, "Yes, Dad. Don't worry, Daniel and I won't do anything wrong."

"Alright, quickly open the door for Daniel," said Kimberly.

"Yes, Mom," Liana answered then she rushed to the living room, opening the door for Daniel.

When Liana was walking out, Kimberly and Davin looked at each other. They wondered to themselves, why did the girl take Daniel on holiday to the village?

Previously, Liana did not tell her parents that she had invited Daniel on holiday to the haunted village with her and her friends, so they thought that the guest was one of Liana's college friends.

Arriving at the yard, Liana jogged and immediately opened the black gate wide.

"Hi Daniel, hello Rendy," said Liana, smiling kindly at them.

"Hi, Na," they said simultaneously.

"It turns out you invited Rendy too, it's good that the holiday will be even busier and more exciting, he, he," chuckled Liana.

"That's right, I invited Rendy so that the ghost would be afraid of us. The more people there are, the ghost will definitely not dare to appear in front of us," joked Daniel casually.

"Shh ... don't say it out loud, my mom and dad will hear it. They don't know, that I actually want to go on holiday in a haunted village," whispered Liana, she looked back to make sure that her parents weren't spying on them in the front yard.

"So, you didn't tell your mom and dad the truth??" asked Daniel in surprise.

"No, Niel. If I tell the truth, they won't let me holiday there," Liana answered quietly.

"Your girlfriend is really reckless, Niel. She didn't tell her parents, so what happens if there's something there? We don't know yet whether there is electricity, wifi, or anything in the village that can connect us to our respective parents," Rendy interrupted as if to remind Liana not to act rashly.

"Don't worry, I am sure there is electricity and clean water there. Last night, I searched on the internet about Phoenix Village," explained Liana, reassuring Daniel and Rendy, whose faces looked scared.

"The important thing is, Rendy and I can work on our thesis without any interference from ghosts or any creatures," added Daniel.

"I guarantee 100 percent that no ghosts or creatures will appear in that empty house. If you are afraid, we can stay at a villager's house. How about that?" Liana asked the two handsome young men standing in front of her.

"It's better that way, Li. Instead of staying in a haunted house, it's better to stay at a villager's house, if something happens we can immediately ask them for help," said Daniel.

"Uh ... fortunately we didn't end up staying in an empty house," said Rendy, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Okay, let's just chat inside. Come on in, Niel, Ren," said Liana.

"Okay, I'll leave the suitcase first. I want to put my motorbike in your yard, is that okay?" Daniel asked reluctantly.

"Of course you can, you are my boyfriend, so you are free to leave your things here," said Liana, smiling faintly.

"Thank you, Li." Daniel poked Liana's nose, this sight made Rendy a little jealous of his friend because he didn't have a girlfriend yet.

"Okay, okay, don't joke in front of me," Rendy interrupted their conversation, then he snorted in annoyance.

"We are not joking, Rendy. You are jealous of us, aren't you?" snapped Daniel.

"I don't envy you guys, really." Rendy pouted.

"Here, I will bring your travel bags," said Liana as she took two travel bags from Daniel and Rendy's hands.

"Thank you, Li," replied Rendy, he smiled his sweetest smile at the beautiful girl standing in front of him.

"Can you just smile normally at my girlfriend?" Daniel was jealous when he saw Rendy smiling at his sweet-faced girlfriend.

"Eh, you are jealous, aren't you?" Liana grinned.

"No, who's jealous?" Daniel avoided it, he rolled his eyes lazily.

"Don't be jealous, okay? I just love you," Liana cooed, elbowing Daniel in the arm.

"Yes, yes, I believe what you just said." Daniel smiled faintly, then Daniel put his motorbike into Liana's yard, while Rendy followed behind his friend.

After parking their motorbike in the front yard of Davin's house, the two guests stepped into the living room with Liana.

In a medium-sized house that wasn't too luxurious, a man was taking his car out of the garage. The man was Eddy, Davin's secretary.

Today he will work as a spy for his boss, and he will look after young lady Wijaya while she is in the village.
