Chapter 3 - When the Future Fights Back

Chapter 3: Ayusha woke up with a strange heaviness in her chest, as if something invisible had followed her into her dreams and refused to leave. The events of the past two days replayed in her mind with disturbing clarity—the fall near the window, the broken chair, the way everything she had seen had happened exactly the same. It wasn't just coincidence anymore. It was something real, something she couldn't escape no matter how hard she tried.

She sat up slowly, pressing her hand against her forehead.

"This isn't normal…" she whispered.

The room around her felt quiet, but not peaceful. There was a tension in the silence, like something was waiting just beyond her sight. She shook her head slightly, trying to push the feeling away.

"I just need to stay calm," she told herself. "Maybe if I don't think about it, it'll stop."

But deep down, she knew that wasn't true.

By the time she reached school, her mind was already exhausted from overthinking. Every small sound made her alert, every movement around her made her uneasy. It felt like she was constantly waiting for something to happen.

And that feeling didn't leave her.

As she stepped into the classroom, she paused for a moment, scanning everything carefully. The students were in their usual places, talking and laughing like always. Nothing looked unusual.

But that didn't mean anything.

Because she had learned one thing—

The danger didn't show itself until it was too late.

Ayusha slowly took her seat, her eyes moving around the room, trying to notice anything that felt different. Her heart was beating slightly faster than usual.

"Please… not again," she whispered under her breath.

But the moment she looked toward the front of the class—

Everything stopped.

The same silence.

The same stillness.

Her body froze instantly.

"No…" she breathed.

"It's happening again."

The world around her faded into that strange frozen state, where only she remained aware. Her breathing became uneven as she forced herself to stay focused.

"Look carefully," she told herself.

"This time, you have to stop it."

Her eyes moved quickly across the classroom, searching for the smallest detail, the smallest sign of what was about to go wrong.

At first, she didn't see anything.

Everything looked normal.

Too normal.

Then—

A sound.

Faint.

A cracking noise.

Her eyes shifted toward the ceiling.

And her heart dropped.

A section of the ceiling fan above the classroom was loose.

Barely noticeable.

But enough.

Ayusha's eyes widened in horror as she watched the fan begin to shake slightly.

"No…" she whispered.

"This can't be…"

The shaking grew stronger.

The screws holding it in place were loosening.

And in the next moment—

It broke.

The fan fell.

Spinning.

Falling directly toward a group of students below.

Ayusha gasped, her entire body going cold.

"This is going to happen…" she realized.

The vision ended.

The classroom returned to normal.

Voices filled the air again, laughter, movement—everything as if nothing had happened.

But Ayusha didn't move.

Her eyes were fixed on the ceiling.

The fan.

Still spinning.

Still attached.

But not for long.

Her heart started racing.

"This is worse…" she thought.

"This isn't just one person… this could hurt many people."

Her hands trembled slightly as panic began to rise.

"No… I can't let this happen," she said quietly.

She stood up suddenly.

Her chair made a loud noise, causing a few students to look at her.

But she didn't care.

"Everyone move away from there!" she shouted, pointing toward the area under the fan.

The class fell silent, confused.

"What are you talking about?" someone asked.

"The fan!" Ayusha said urgently. "It's going to fall—just move!"

Some students laughed nervously.

Others looked unsure.

But no one moved immediately.

Ayusha felt frustration rising.

"They don't understand…" she thought.

And then—

The fan shook slightly.

Just like in the vision.

Ayusha's eyes widened.

"It's happening NOW!"

"MOVE!" she screamed.

This time, her voice carried enough fear to make a few students react. Some of them stepped back instinctively, pulling others with them.

And then—

It happened.

The fan broke loose.

Falling exactly as she had seen.

The loud crash echoed through the classroom as it hit the ground where the students had been standing moments before.

Screams filled the air.

Panic spread instantly.

But no one was seriously hurt.

Because this time—

They had moved.

Ayusha stood there, breathing heavily, her heart pounding loudly in her chest.

"I… changed it…" she whispered.

Her hands were shaking, but not from fear this time.

From realization.

For the first time—

The outcome was different.

She hadn't stopped it completely.

But she had reduced the damage.

She had made a difference.

The teacher rushed in, shocked by the scene, while students began talking loudly, trying to understand what had just happened.

But Ayusha barely heard any of it.

Her mind was focused on one thing.

"I can change it…" she thought.

"But not completely."

That realization brought both hope and fear.

Because if she could change things—

Then that meant her actions mattered.

But it also meant—

She carried responsibility.

A heavy one.

As the situation calmed down, Ayusha slowly sat back in her chair, her breathing still uneven.

Her eyes drifted toward the window.

And for a brief moment—

She saw it.

A faint shadow.

Standing outside.

Watching.

Ayusha's breath caught.

It wasn't clear.

It wasn't fully visible.

But it was there.

And it disappeared just as quickly.

Her heart began to race again.

"That's not part of the vision…" she realized.

Her voice was barely a whisper.

"That's something else."

A chill ran down her spine.

Because now—

This wasn't just about seeing the future anymore.

Something was watching her.

Something connected to everything that was happening.

And whatever it was—

It wasn't going away.
