Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Graduation

Time flew by, and two years passed in the blink of an eye.

Asa made rapid progress in the path of magic.

Putting aside how many spells he had mastered for a moment, after two years of bitter cultivation alone, his Qi attribute had reached the ten-point mark, and his magical attainments far exceeded those of an ordinary Wizard.

As for his academic advancement, it went without saying; he had basically mastered all the basic magic of the four major elements.

Limited by the fact that Sabrina specialized in fire element spells, although Asa had learned most high-level magic, there were still some gaps, and he was currently focusing on the fire element.

This was because some high-level spells required a Wizard to make contributions to the Brotherhood of Sorcerers to be granted permission to study them, and others were stored in the magic academy of the Nilfgaardian Empire in the south.

However, for the current Asa, the spells he had on hand were temporarily sufficient.

Compared to Elemental Magic, Asa attainments in the Mind Magic taught by Sheela and Tissaia were even more profound.

This was an extremely dangerous type of magic that placed exceptionally high demands on a sorcerer's mental strength.

Manipulating the minds of others and toying with their will—the slightest carelessness could lead to a mental backlash.

But none of this was a problem for Asa. With a spirit attribute exceeding twenty points, he traveled much further on the path of Mind Magic than others; hypnotizing a human was as simple as using an app in a hentai.

As graduation approached, Sheela, who had delved deep into Mind Magic for many years, spoke with a strained voice:

"I have nothing left to teach you. You must walk the rest of the path yourself."

"Thank you."

Asa showed great respect to this senior sister who had taught him with such sincerity.

A simple word of thanks was very well-received by Sheela.

The person before her was a magical genius with infinite potential; this friendship might prove very useful somewhere in the future.

It was just that... seeing herself, who had been immersed in this path for years, surpassed so easily by a young man, this long-tempered Sorceress couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated.

"The study of magic cannot stop."

With this thought, Sheela threw herself back into the research of magic.

As for Margarita, the slightly more kind-hearted Sorceress, her main areas of teaching were Alchemy and protective barrier magic, which Asa had also completely absorbed.

The path of magic had many branches. Even with three Sorceresses teaching him everything they knew, Asa still felt it wasn't enough.

During this period, he also learned the basics of several other types of magic from his true mentor, Tissaia:

Prophecy and Divination, Life magic (Healing Magic), and Teleportation spells.

First was Prophecy, using magic items and mediums like crystal basins for divination. In this field, even Tissaia, who had lived for hundreds of years, could not be called an expert.

According to her, Prophecy and Divination were the specialties of the Sorceress Philippa Eilhart, and that sorcerer had once issued a warning: do not attempt to repeatedly peer into your own fate.

The mentor's meaning was that an introduction to Prophecy was enough; he shouldn't delve too deep.

[Then what about this fragment of Quetzalcoatl in my hand?]

Although it was originally a relic of Quetzalcoatl from the Hell World, it could still function in the Wizarding World.

However, Asa had only used it for one simple prophecy and hadn't used it since. For one, there was a limit on the number of uses, and for another, no sense of crisis had ever descended.

Whether it was Prophecy, Teleportation Magic, or Healing Magic, they were all extremely rare and difficult skills to master.

Yet, Asa quickly absorbed these three magics taught by Tissaia into skills, then asked his mentor with an excited face:

"Is there anything else?"

Tissaia sighed upon hearing this at the time:

As a guide, she had already done everything humanly possible.

"Deeper magic cultivation can only rely on yourself. There isn't much left that I can teach you."

In fact, further along was the realm of the Dark Arts, curses, and necromancy.

And these were strictly forbidden by the Brotherhood of Sorcerers; curses bred hatred, and necromancy desecrated the dead.

Counting them up, the magic Asa had learned covered two major categories: Elemental Magic and Mind Magic, plus Alchemy, Healing Magic, Teleportation Magic, and Prophecy. He was already an excellent Wizard.

However, graduation still required an assessment.

...

"Congratulations. Now, you are a formal Wizard."

Sitting behind the desk, Tissaia's tone carried a hint of amazement.

"You actually did it, and without any weaknesses."

Her gaze swept over the graduation thesis Asa had submitted. All graduates of the magic academy had to submit a thesis upon graduation; it had always been so.

And the one in Asa hand was particularly outstanding:

Flowing Fire Cloak, a brand-new spell that couldn't be categorized by simple Elemental Magic.

Its essence was a layer of fire shield wrapping around the caster's body, burning all nearby enemies.

It sounded simple, but in reality, it combined the Harmless Fire and Fire Wave from Elemental Magic with the Shield magic from Protection magic to create a close-range spell that protected the Wizard while reflecting damage to enemies.

For fragile Wizards, this was simply a remarkable invention! More importantly, its learning cost was extremely low: two low-level spells paired with one high-level Fire Wave, released sequentially and combined, would successfully cast the spell.

Tissaia was used to other students being overly ambitious while writing terrible graduation theses, but the Flowing Fire Cloak was a spell worthy of being included in the library of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers.

"Thank you for the praise, Teacher."

"Do you have any plans after graduation?"

Putting down the thesis, a smile blossomed on Tissaia's cold face.

Teaching such a naturally gifted student made her feel honored as well, even though the part she taught wasn't actually that much.

"Do you have any suggestions?" Asa asked casually.

Considering it was only the year 1202, and there was still a long time before the plot began and the world was destroyed, Asa plan was actually to focus on other worlds.

He couldn't spend all fifty years here, could he?

Coming back occasionally to study magic would be enough.

So, he seemed quite indifferent toward his own future development.

And this was precisely where Tissaia's concern lay, as well as one of the reasons she felt relieved.

With such outstanding talent paired with this excellent appearance, Tissaia had never seen a hint of arrogance in Asa, nor any pursuit of fame and fortune.

Ordinary Wizards, after gaining the favor of a Sorceress and achieving such success, would have their noses in the air long ago, and might not even view ordinary people as the same species.

But the young man before her, aside from being a bit lecherous and knowing too many positions, only had an almost fanatical pursuit of magic.

Compared to other Wizards, he was undoubtedly more human.

Gender male, hobbies Sorceresses and magic—there weren't many such simple people left!
