"Is the human world really that terrifying?"
Saskia covered her small mouth subconsciously.
"By the way, have you been staying in this form the entire way?"
Asa asked curiously.
It was strange; they were in the heart of Temeria, surrounded by wilderness and low hills. How did this green dragon manage to penetrate so deep into human territory without being discovered?
"Father's magic helped me conceal my form along the way."
"Then I saw the firelight and thought it was one of my kind, so I came down to take a look."
The dragon girl, Saskia Saosi, clearly didn't know what lying was; she just said whatever came to mind.
No wonder, Asa thought to himself. The reason he hadn't dodged the claw the green dragon used to threaten him was because there was a sort of clear, naive stupidity in her eyes, making him feel like she was just a child.
However, since she really was a child, the threatening aura following behind Saskia Saosi must have been emitted by her father, whose strength was clearly far superior to this naive dragon girl.
The young miss of the dragon race had come of age, and driven by curiosity, she came to the human world, yearning for adventure. Her worried father couldn't rest easy and followed in secret to protect her—that was likely the script.
Unfortunately, Asa felt an indescribable sense of regret in his heart.
Having immersed himself in the path of magic for decades, he had now achieved great success, yet he couldn't even find a suitable punching bag.
The monsters he had encountered these days were either too weak, easily dispatched with a single spell, or the Witcher lacked the strength to even break his magic barrier, so how could they trigger his second phase?
But if he were to fight his teacher, who was also a Wizard, or other Wizards, he would have to be careful because their bodies were too fragile, and he might accidentally kill them.
Amidst the sense of crisis just now, Asa had been both guarded and expectant, thinking a great battle to test his strength had arrived. Just thinking about it made his blood boil!
Yet, in reality, it was just a family comedy between a dragon girl and her worried father.
Asa sighed inwardly.
Saskia's words pulled him back from his thoughts.
"Are you also here for an adventure?" Saskia Saosi asked curiously.
"Yes." Asa told her the truth. From Thanedd Island to Novigrad, from Novigrad to Wizima, and then from Wizima to Cintra—this journey had only just begun.
"Wow!" Saskia seemed very excited. "A long journey, it must be a great adventure! Can you take me with you?"
Having arrived in the human world, Saskia understood little about it, but she was equally eager for a great adventure.
Fresh out into the world, she had met a human Wizard who looked quite agreeable, unlike the humans she usually encountered at the foot of the mountain, who were either terrified or greedy.
This made Saskia believe that this must be fate.
Asa didn't mind.
Taking a dragon girl along was fine, especially since she was a romanceable character.
"However, you must be careful. You must never turn back into a dragon in the human world. Also, don't trust strangers easily."
Asa cautioned.
"Mmh, mmh." Saskia nodded hurriedly.
The two began to chat enthusiastically; of course, most of the time it was Saskia asking interesting questions, while Asa replied half-heartedly.
In the abandoned village, the dragon's aura kept evil creatures from coming near.
Meanwhile, on a hilltop far from the abandoned village, a middle-aged man with thick, long curly hair was watching the fire in the village, gnashing his teeth.
His name was Villentretenmerth, a golden dragon, but he preferred his human-world name, Borch.
There weren't many dragons left in the world. As far as Borch knew, there were no more than ten in total, and Saskia was the youngest among them.
Saskia's mother, Myrgtabrakke, had been saved by Borch. The widower and widow had come together to raise the green dragon, Saskia Saosi.
But at this moment, Borch really regretted it. Because he used to like traveling in the human world, he had taught Saskia Saosi during her childhood to treat all races equally and not to view humans and other creatures as ants like other dragons did.
It was fine before; Saskia Saosi hadn't been very interested in humans, preferring to be closer to elves.
This time, Saskia had spread her wings and no longer needed her parents' protection. Borch had thought about letting Saskia experience everything she should at this age.
But in truth, he couldn't rest easy and had been following from afar to prevent Saskia from unknowingly becoming a target for humans hunting for treasure.
But this time, it wasn't hunting he was afraid of...
Borch frowned and looked at the human Wizard by the fire.
Black hair, black eyes, quite handsome, and relatively friendly towards the non-human dragon species.
The aura on his body even gave the golden dragon a feeling of being as unfathomable as the sea and the abyss; his strength was definitely not as simple as his youthful appearance suggested.
But wasn't Saskia being too enthusiastic?
In just this short while of chatting, Saskia was already sitting next to the human Wizard, shaking his arm and asking him to tell stories.
This was treatment even Borch hadn't experienced!
The golden dragon gritted his teeth, as if he could see a future scene where the human Wizard stepped on his face, arrogantly calling him an old geezer.
Sigh, Borch sighed, deciding to continue protecting Saskia in secret for the time being, to avoid the pure and kind dragon being deceived by the evil human Wizard.
...
Asa felt distressed by his inhuman charm. As they talked, the dragon girl was almost pressing herself against him.
Sigh, poor him and this charm that had nowhere to hide.
A night passed. The dragon was full of energy, and Asa was equally energetic.
There was still a long way to go to Wizima, the capital of Temeria. Although Saskia suggested they could ride the same horse, Asa considered that her father was following them, so it was better not to taunt him right in his face.
Just then, the warhorse left behind by the bald guy was still with the Witcher on a hillside far away.
"Wait here for me, Saskia," Asa said.
"Mmh." The young girl nodded, not at all worried that the Wizard might use this opportunity to escape or bring soldiers to surround and annihilate her.
Too naive. Asa shook his head; he almost felt bad about taking advantage of her.
At the break of dawn, Asa rushed back to the hillside.
This place was some distance from the abandoned village, and Geralt the White Wolf was completely unaware of everything that had happened there. He just watched speechlessly as the Wizard who had left his horse here last night came back this morning to lead it away.
Sigh, I thought I could make a small profit this time, the White Wolf sighed inwardly, but since this was the other party's loot, he couldn't say much.
If only he could be as thick-skinned as this Wizard, he wouldn't be chased all over by villagers.
Mounting the horse and bidding farewell to the White Wolf, Asa rode back to the abandoned village without delay.
