Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Crispy

People on the mountain could not see the dispute happening at the foot of the mountain.

Concealing their presence, they hid among the branches at the top of the mountain.

Compared to Priest Cyrus, Oga of the Order of the Flaming Rose looked righteous, with a square face, thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a high nose bridge; one look was enough to tell he was a man of integrity.

The other brothers were hiding in the thickets, waiting only for the Dark Wizard to pass by before rushing out to take their lives.

To prevent any accidents, the knights and the priest had prepared many anti-magic items, such as anti-magic bombs made of anti-magic metal, which could effectively disperse a Wizard's magic and even turn him into an ordinary person.

"Priest Cyrus, are you sure you didn't see wrong?"

Oga of the Order of the Flaming Rose asked. He had excellent eyesight, and from the mountain down to the foot of the mountain, he could see the targets' appearances clearly from afar.

Though he saw them clearly, he was doubtful in his heart.

A young man with black hair and black eyes, and a young girl with flaxen hair—in no way did they look like a Dark Wizard and his accomplice.

Transfiguration?

Could it be that old trick of framing people again?

Oga knew that the current Order of the Flaming Rose was no longer the Order of the Flaming Rose of the past. Discipline was gone, the atmosphere was focused on money, and the great Order of the Flaming Rose, built by his predecessors through arduous effort, had long been surreptitiously replaced without anyone realizing it.

But there was nothing he could do; Oga was just an ordinary person, and he could change nothing.

Let it be.

Priest Cyrus said: "Commander, this is an order from the Bishop; we just need to execute it."

He sneered inwardly, thinking that after they killed the Wizard this time, if no one found out, that would be fine, but if things were exposed, and if the other party really had a background he couldn't handle, he would just pin the blame on this Commander of the Order of the Flaming Rose.

As for the outcome of the battle, there was no need to worry; fifty against two, the advantage was with them.

However, just as Priest Cyrus was full of confidence, the situation suddenly changed drastically.

At the foot of the mountain, Oga focused his gaze and saw that the two people below had, at some point, aimed their eyes at their hiding spot.

"Have we… been discovered?"

Logically speaking, there was a wide path in the valley in the center, and the other side was a mountain covered in dense forest. Plus, they were hiding in the treetops with leaves as cover, and the knights were concealed in the dense forest; no matter how one looked at it, it was impossible to be discovered.

But, what was up with that look?

Then, in the shocked eyes of Priest Cyrus and Oga, the two free horses fled as if they were flying, and one of the young girls suddenly disappeared on the spot, replaced by a giant dragon!

"Dragon? Dragon? Dragon?"

The absurd scene caused Priest Cyrus to start stuttering.

Oga's heart also gave a violent twitch; he hadn't expected things to unfold in such a way.

The suddenly appeared giant dragon had wings that spread dozens of meters, yet it lay docilely on the ground, its slender dragon neck lowered.

Then they saw their target, the black-haired Wizard, flip onto the neck of the green dragon, squeeze his legs, and the giant dragon shot directly into the sky.

Priest Cyrus was about to speak, but Oga was quick-witted and covered his mouth, forcing him to lower his head and not fix his gaze on the giant dragon.

The other knights of the Order of the Flaming Rose also subconsciously held their breath, not daring to utter a single word.

Priest Cyrus was the same, praying secretly in his heart: Don't discover us, please don't discover us.

But everything was ultimately in vain; the more one feared something, the more likely it was to happen.

The giant dragon soared into the sky, gracefully made a turn in the air, and dove down, its direction being exactly the forest where they were hiding.

"Oh no!"

Oga immediately stopped caring about the priest beside him and jumped down from the tree.

50 knights trying to hunt a giant dragon? Even fifty more would just be a snack.

Oga did not want to accompany this priest to his death; as for the Order of the Flaming Rose, at this moment, his own life was obviously more important.

"Oga, you!"

In the tree, Priest Cyrus had a look of shock, as if to say, you with the thick eyebrows and big eyes, you would do this too?

You can't judge a book by its cover, Priest.

Oga rushed directly into the dense forest, leaving behind Priest Cyrus, who was sitting in the tree and couldn't get down.

Priest Cyrus looked down; the towering tree trunk made his head spin, but when he thought about what would happen if he didn't run, Priest Cyrus stopped caring about that and prepared to jump down.

Behind him, a sound of wind suddenly came.

Priest Cyrus's movements froze. He turned to look, only to see the playful eyes of the giant dragon and the contemptuous gaze of the Wizard riding on its back.

In the scorching summer, Priest Cyrus felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

"Um, Lord Wizard, there is no grudge between us, so…"

Forcing himself to endure the fear, Priest Cyrus said tremblingly.

The reply he received was the Wizard's mockery.

"Look at you. When there was no grudge, you wanted to attack me. Now that I am attacking you, you say there is no grudge."

"Go to your death with peace of mind; it will be quick, a matter of an instant."

The ferocious dragon head blew downwards, and scorching flames spewed from the giant dragon's mouth, sweeping across the entire treetop.

In Priest Cyrus's pupils, the high temperature and light brought by the green dragon's breath were reflected. Before he could react, his body was already engulfed in flames, turning into charred remains on the spot, cosplaying a black mamba.

A faithful believer of the Church of the Eternal Fire, returning to the embrace of their God.

"Let's go, continue!"

Asa patted Saskia on the head.

...

Long before the giant dragon landed, all the horses on the mountain had already been startled and were running away in all directions.

The knights of the Order of the Flaming Rose were powerless to stop them and could only watch helplessly as they trampled the equipment and fled, while the giant dragon circled above the forest, confronting the priest.

Without their backbone, Oga and Priest Cyrus, the remaining knights immediately took the opportunity to flee in other directions into the dense forest.

What a joke, asking them to fight a dragon?

And in the woods, without any protection?

Whoever wants to do this mission can do it!

A few dozen Orens a month, why risk one's life?

Asa and Saskia's targets were clearly not just Priest Cyrus. The flames swept, engulfing the knights who were close by under the trees and couldn't escape in time.

The thousand-degree heat melted even their armor into molten iron, let alone their flesh and blood bodies.

Even in the scorching summer, the flames still ignited the lush forest near the lake.

Riding on the back of the giant dragon, Asa couldn't help but exclaim:

"Wow, awesome!"

Now, he could either change his body structure to grow a body capable of soaring in the sky or use magic to lift his body and maintain levitation.

But how could that compare to the exhilarating feeling of riding a giant dragon and galloping across the sky, a feeling that the world is so vast and there is nowhere one cannot go?

"How did I do? Lang."

The green dragon couldn't help but show off to Asa. In Saskia's view, these knights were all enemies, and since they were enemies, it was reasonable to kill them.

This was also what her father taught her: when dealing with enemies, one must exterminate them completely and leave no hidden dangers.

Asa patted the giant dragon beneath him and praised:

"You did great, but you should also let me show off a bit."
