Chapter 22 - The Language of the Gods

The next morning Satya woke up and cooked a hearty meal to enjoy.

He took a bath and put on the clothes he had found and washed the day before.

He was feeling better now that he had actual sustainable clothing.

After he collected all his belongings and packed them up for his travels,

He thought of going to the shrine to start his journey again.

But just after walking a bit, when he could see the town entrance clearly.

What he saw made his stomach churn.

There was a trail of blood as if something covered in blood had been dragged throughout the entire shrine, trying to enter it again and again and was pushed out by something protecting it.

The Shadow remained silent and cold throughout the entire way.

But after seeing the blood marks, Satya could see a trail of emotions surging through it.

Seeing the Shadow being silent,

Satya decided to not give it too much attention,

Because he had learned from the human sketch that giving something more attention than necessary can spell a lot of trouble in the 'Amarvan'.

He just saw where the trail was headed,

It was headed outside the town which was good because Satya didn't want to confront the being who had left these marks.

Satya decided to not visit the shrine anymore and turned back towards the town,

He saw the house which he had ransacked again.

"Now that I think about it, isn't this house odd....it's the only house near the shrine. "

Satya said while examining his surroundings.

Satya continued on with his path.

Satya soon saw a few stone steps diverting from the main path towards a pond in a clearing.

It was a small pond filled with all kinds of vibrant-coloured fish with smooth stones marking its edge.

One of the stones on the outer edges of the pond caught Satya's eyes.

Some letters were shimmering with a dim glow,

Satya got closer to take a look to find out what the letters read.

He stumbled back upon discovering what was written on the stone,

It was in an old transcript, Satya had only read about in his original world.

It was a language often praised as the language of the gods,

With the most diverse grammar in the world,

It was Sanskrit.

"Svachchh jala"

Seemingly lost in these words,

A thought brushed past Satya's mind...

"Kasthagni"

"Apah pravaah".

"Why didn't I realize it sooner... "

Satya made a discovery.

He had always thought that the words sounded similar, but he couldn't remember anyone saying them.

But now he realized it was because he knew the language but hadn't heard anyone say it,

That's why it sounded similar yet foreign at the same time.

"Both of these words mean the same as what they do...

It was not an unknown transcript after all,

It was a language I knew"

"Which transcript do you speak of, traveller?"

asked The Shadow with a confused voice.

Satya hadn't heard it and was seemingly lost in his own thoughts.

"It was Sanskrit after all,"

Satya spoke in his own daze.

Suddenly reality itself seemed to ripple,

The shadows in surrounding grew cold and infinitely dark.

"How..., How do you know the name of the forbidden language!?"

The Shadow asked in a threatening tone

Satya, out of his daze by the reality shift, looked at the shadow and saw black tentacles extending from it.

Seeing the black tentacles extending from the vast expanse of darkness,

Satya took a few steps back,

Just to fall straight into the pond,

But something stopped him from falling.

Satya looked at his waist,

Only to see a black tentacle circling around it holding it tight to perhaps stop him from running.

Satya looked to see its source and realized it was one of the black tentacles he had seen,

They seemed to penetrate into reality,

Just to hold him in place.

"I ASKED, HOW DO YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THE FORBIDDEN LANGUAGE!?"

The Shadow's voice resounded through the entire forest,

And its grip tightened around him.

{Finding the words lost from memories,

Gaining the suspicion of the one closest to me,

I walk the path to greatness,

Seemingly in a lone eternity}
