He had been thinking about it since Sunday night.
Specifically since one in the morning, when he'd come out of his room for water and found Caelan Draxen asleep on his couch with the blanket Juno had provided tucked around him with the slightly awkward positioning of someone who hadn't slept on a couch in a long time and hadn't wanted to admit they weren't sure how.
Juno had stood in the kitchen doorway and looked at him for a moment.
Then he'd gone back to bed.
And thought about it for three hours.
The thing was, Juno had a list.
He kept it internally, not written down, because writing it down made it a thing and he wasn't ready for it to be a thing. But it existed. The list of what Caelan Draxen had done, assessed against what someone in his position could have done instead.
He could have not come back to the hotel room.
He came back.
He could have not hired Seren, knowing what he knew.
He hired him.
He could have used what he knew as leverage.
He hadn't.
