Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Debt Collection Abroad

October 20, 2022.Moscow.

The red-eye flight took off from Daxing Airport, transferred in Krasnoyarsk, and finally landed at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. After that came a taxi ride to the destination.

Thirteen hours in total.

But due to the time difference, Gao Fei arrived at 10 a.m.

The time was right. The address was correct. But whether the man he came for was actually here… that was another question.

Gao Fei knocked heavily on the door.

The door opened.

It was Hou Yanguo.

He found him.

"You are… Xiao Fei? What are you doing here?!"

What kind of question was that?

Why was he here?

Because Hou Yanguo owed money—and refused to pay.

"Finally found you."Gao Fei gritted his teeth slightly, but remembering his father's instructions, he forced a smile."Uncle… I brought some things from home to visit you."

Hou Yanguo's expression shifted several times before he stepped aside quickly."Come in, come in—let's talk inside."

The apartment looked normal.

Standard layout. Ordinary furniture. Slightly outdated appliances—but nothing unusual.

The address was correct. This was Hou Yanguo's home.

Which meant one thing—

Gao Fei wasn't leaving without the money.

After sitting down, Hou Yanguo asked with concern,"When did you arrive? Why didn't you tell me in advance? Did you come alone?"

"I'm not hungry. Ate on the plane."

Gao Fei placed a bag on the table.

Inside was a carton of cigarettes and a bottle of aged liquor.

"My dad asked me to bring these. Said you haven't been back home in a long time… There were more things, but customs took them."

Hou Yanguo frowned."Forget the stuff! It's war here—dangerous! And your dad let you come alone?!"

Gao Fei sighed.

"We had no choice… Workers haven't been paid for half a year. Suppliers are suing us. The house is mortgaged. Loans, interest, everything piling up…"

He paused.

"And… my dad had a stroke. He's still in the hospital."

"Uncle… I really had no other choice."

He looked straight at Hou Yanguo.

"If you can… can you settle the payment?"

Yes.

Gao Fei came here to collect a debt.

Hou Yanguo lit a cigarette and sighed heavily.

"It's not that I don't want to pay… The war messed everything up. I have no money in China anymore. And I can't collect money here either…"

Gao Fei stayed silent.

Then said quietly:

"Uncle… the total is 1.16 million RMB. Let's both take a loss. Just give me one million."

He cut off over 100,000—just to get the deal done.

Hou Yanguo thought for a moment.

"…Alright."

Gao Fei froze.

It worked?

That easily?

"But we have to use an underground bank," Hou Yanguo added.

That… was risky.

But waiting a month through legal banking wasn't an option.

"Fine."

Hou Yanguo made a call in Russian.

After a while, he smiled.

"Done. Seven percent fee. Let's go now."

Everything seemed… smooth.

Too smooth.

They drove for about ten minutes and stopped near an alley.

Two men were waiting.

They didn't look like businessmen.

They looked like thugs.

Inside the alley.

Inside a small room.

A man behind a desk opened a drawer—

And threw something at Hou Yanguo.

A roll of cash.

At that moment—

Gao Fei realized.

Something was wrong.

Without hesitation—

He moved.

He feinted forward—

Then spun and dashed for the door.

Too late.

He was grabbed. Thrown down. Pinned to the ground.

Face pressed against the floor.

"Hou Yanguo! What are you doing?!"

No answer.

His bag was cut open.

Passport. ID. Everything taken.

"Don't do this… I don't want the money anymore!"

Still no response.

Hou Yanguo turned to leave.

Cold.

Indifferent.

Then he said—

"You'll be… useful."

Organ trafficking.

Gao Fei's heart dropped.

He switched to English instantly:

"I have money! I'll pay! Just let me go!"

That got attention.

"How much?"

"Twenty thousand dollars! All of it!"

The boss smiled.

"Deal."

A POS machine was brought out.

Card inserted.

Wrong password.

"Try again."

They loosened their grip.

That moment—

Was enough.

Gao Fei moved.

Fast.

Faster than ever before.

Two fingers caught the blade.

Twist.

Pull.

The knife was his.

Then—

He exploded.

Stab.

Stab.

Stab.

Four strikes.

All lethal.

Blood splashed.

Gun drawn.

Chaos erupted.

Gao Fei didn't stop.

He turned—

And stabbed Hou Yanguo in the neck.

Once.

Twice.

Blood sprayed everywhere.

Hou Yanguo collapsed.

Dead.

Gunshot.

Missed.

Gao Fei ran.

Toward the alley exit.

For his life.
