Chapter 126 - Chapter 62 - Gray: If one can live, who would want to die?

Gray is panicking right now.

Because three uninvited guests of unknown identity have broken into her house.

She is the divine child of the village now, and the surrounding households are protecting her as guardians.

But even so, her house was still easily broken into.

There wasn't a sound outside before, and after these three uninvited guests entered, there was still not a sound outside.

This was very scary.

Gray, who had known the secrets of the village from her mother since she was a child, didn't think Blackmoore Village was just an ordinary mountain village that anyone could trespass into.

This was a secret base where the 'Resurrection of the King' ritual, which had lasted for over a thousand years, was being conducted.

Although she lost her father in childhood and her mother in adulthood, and thus the techniques she learned were not particularly refined, this did not hinder her understanding of the strength of the little playmates and elders in her village.

These three people who could break through the blockades of those elders and enter the room without causing any commotion were definitely not something she, a 'divine child' who had only just awakened, could handle.

So she kept her head clear from the very beginning, raised her hands to where the other party could see them, and kept her lips tightly closed, not making a sound.

This movement was so smooth, it was clear she was very experienced.

"Is this Gray?" Morgan asked, turning her head to look at Daniel with a strange tone.

"...The situation is a bit beyond my expectations, but it makes sense." Daniel was slightly stunned by the mature-looking Gray before him, but he quickly reacted and stared at her, asking, "When did you turn into what you look like now?"

"Just a few days ago." Gray answered with a well-behaved look.

It wasn't that she didn't want to specify the exact number of days; it was just that after returning home, she had been pampered so comfortably by the villagers that she had lost track of time.

"I see. It seems that in the other Holy Grail War subspecies, my foolish sister was not summoned either, which is why her status as a vessel was only exposed so late." Morgan nodded and looked at Artoria. "And the reason for her exposure was because the foolish sister from the parallel world came to this world with you, which triggered the ritual I set up years ago to resurrect my foolish sister."

"Um, Sister King, if it's possible, could you stop calling me a foolish sister?" Artoria looked at Morgan with some distress, then turned her gaze back to Gray. "Gray, seeing that you are living quite comfortably now, I am relieved."

Gray looked at the person in front of her, somewhat bewildered.

The amount of information revealed in those few short sentences just now was excessive.

But Gray still managed to sort it all out in a short time.

Yet, precisely because she had sorted it out, she became even more dazed.

"King Arthur?" Gray looked cautiously at Artoria, who looked a few years more mature than her, and after receiving an affirmative response, she turned to look at Morgan. "Then, are you Morgan?"

"It seems you are not a foolish child." Morgan nodded with satisfaction.

"So, it was the appearance of this King Arthur from another world that triggered my appearance to lean more towards hers, and then I became the current 'Divine Child'?" Gray's associative ability was quite rich, and she basically hit the nail on the head.

"That is correct." Morgan nodded and replied, "However, the 'Resurrection of the King' ritual is no longer needed, and your use as a 'vessel' has also ended. I came here this time to completely erase this ritual and return your freedom to you... You should still want your freedom, right?"

Looking at the various luxurious-looking equipment in the room, Morgan asked with some suspicion.

She highly suspected that the Gray in front of her had long been corrupted by her lifestyle.

She didn't look at all like the little Gray she had seen in Daniel's memories, who would make one want to tease her.

"Ah, freedom." Gray scratched her hair, feeling conflicted, and then asked Morgan cautiously, "May I ask, if the ritual isn't removed, how long would it take for me to become the vessel for the resurrection of 'King Arthur'?"

"...It's hard to say. Maybe a few years, a dozen years, or twenty-something years, or even longer." Morgan shrugged helplessly. "It depends on how many times my foolish sister's spirit descends."

"The foolish sister here only activated the ritual within you, but she cannot make this ritual continue further." Morgan pointed to Artoria, who was staring at her with some dissatisfaction, and explained, "After all, she is not a Heroic Spirit."

"If you want to deepen your status as a vessel, you have to wait for this world's foolish sister to descend as a Heroic Spirit."

"Then, if I go to Other Worlds, then I..." Gray asked with some unease.

"Then your status as a vessel will disappear." Morgan interrupted her and explained preemptively, "Because the ritual I prepared can only resurrect the foolish sister. If you leave this world and reach a world where the foolish sister does not exist to fit the vessel, the ritual on you will lose its effect, but your appearance will still remain as it is now."

Morgan felt that, in any case, she had already obtained a foolish sister who was expressive, did not hate her, had given up the throne, and understood the human heart.

Then there was no need for her to continue obsessing over resurrecting that other foolish sister who didn't like her, had a poker face, and always treated her like a natural disaster.

Therefore, she didn't really care about Gray's desire to escape her status as a 'vessel'.

"I won't just die suddenly, will I?" Gray asked cautiously.

She was just a former corporate slave exploited by society; if she could live, why would she want to die?

"No." Morgan answered affirmatively.

"I think I am still somewhat useful." Upon hearing that she could live, and would even keep her current appearance and figure, Gray's desire to survive was instantly reignited.

"Add! Right, there is an iron box that says it can turn into a weapon." Gray hurriedly utilized everything she could. "That thing is a Mystic Code passed down through generations in our village."

"Ah, that thing." Morgan suddenly leaned her neck back. "I suddenly want to persuade you all to give up on Gray."

"Really! Add is very useful!" Gray became anxious after hearing Morgan's words.

"Sister King, you seem quite familiar with that Mystic Code called 'Add'." Artoria asked, staring at Morgan.

"Uh... I have handled it a little." Morgan scratched her black veil, troubled. "The simulated personality of that thing uses Kay, and it's the Kay from a long time ago."

"Wow." Artoria couldn't help but sigh.

"To actually use Kay from that period as a simulated personality... just how deep is your resentment towards me in this world?"

"Really, that guy is super sharp-tongued, and his personality is also very bad." Gray looked up at Morgan.

"By the way, where did you hide Add?" Morgan looked around curiously. "Given that guy's personality, seeing me and the foolish sister appear together, it's absolutely impossible for it to be this quiet. And from the fact that you are already familiar with Add, the ownership of Add should have already been transferred to you."

"Ah, about that... it's over there." Gray pointed somewhat embarrassedly at the bedding in the corner.

Morgan lifted her finger, and the bedding immediately hovered in the air, revealing the iron cage underneath, and Add, who was tied up tightly with cloth strips inside the iron cage.

"Because Add's mouth is really too loose, I couldn't help it, so I made it quiet, in the physical sense." Gray explained.

Under Morgan's magic, those cloth strips instantly disintegrated, revealing Add's form.

"Gaha! I was almost suffocated to death..." Add hadn't finished its complaint before it saw the people standing by the iron cage.

Instantly, it went quiet and pretended to be an ordinary iron box that could neither move nor speak.

Even though it knew itself that it had already been exposed.

But it still insisted on self-hypnotizing into an iron box with no intelligence.

"Even though you've been exposed, are you still forcing yourself to pretend that you don't know anything?" Morgan tilted her head and asked.

Add made no reaction.

After all, it was just an ordinary iron box; it could neither understand human language nor make any reaction.

"The thing sealed inside this, could it be..." Artoria frowned as she examined Add for a few moments, then looked up at Morgan.

"Just as you guessed." Morgan nodded and answered. "It is the Holy Spear, Rhongomyniad."

"Hey, Gray, what is your view on children under ten years old?" Daniel suddenly asked Gray.

"Although I have mild social anxiety, if the target is just children under ten, I have no problem and can handle it completely." Gray replied, patting her chest with full confidence.

"Social anxiety?" Daniel looked at Gray in surprise.

He didn't expect that this girl, who had been speaking quite well since just now, was actually socially anxious.

"Well... because of the nature of the village, my behavior and speech are very different from people outside." Gray scratched her hair and explained. "Therefore, when I was at school outside, I seemed to be treated as a weirdo by my classmates and kept at a distance. Over time, I became bad at communicating with ordinary people."

"Ah, besides innocent, lively children who love to fantasize, communicating with people in the Magus world is still no problem." Gray added.

"However, is it really okay to come with us?" Daniel continued to ask. "That means saying goodbye to the world you originally lived in forever, and we don't know if the Other World we enter in the future will be dangerous."

"With King Arthur and Morgan here, even if the sky falls, these two tall people will hold it up. What does a small fry like me have to worry about?" Gray asked back with a straight face.

For Gray, whether it was dangerous or not was secondary.

The main thing was her current state as a vessel.

Following Morgan and Artoria, even if she had any problems during the process, at least she had Morgan, the original manufacturer, who could perform repairs and maintenance, rather than sitting on the side waiting to die.

"Since you have decided, you should pack up first." Daniel said. "As for the villagers, Morgan will handle it."

"Eh? Why am I the one to handle it?" Morgan complained with dissatisfaction.

"Because you are the one who caused the matter." Daniel replied, spreading his hands.

Seeing Daniel in a dominant position, Gray was a bit stunned.

"By the way, my name is Daniel, and I am currently the leader of our travel team." Daniel introduced himself.

Artoria and Morgan on the side instantly looked at Daniel with disdainful eyes.

It's a Wanderer team, so call it a Wanderer team; why come up with something like a travel team?

What kind of legitimate travel team has no return?

Facts proved that Morgan was not very good at reasoning.

But she was very good at magic.

Fabricating non-existent memories for the villagers in the village, changing the ultimate purpose of the village's existence and continuation, and then selecting a new Divine Child, the matter thus came to an end.

It's just that Gray, who witnessed all this, seemed to start questioning life.

After all, the value of her existence in this world had vanished into thin air in that very moment.

"Yo, are you the vessel that Father resurrected?" On the camper, looking at Gray who followed behind Daniel and the other two to get on the car, Mordred raised her hand to greet her.

"Uh... Father?" Gray looked at Mordred in astonishment.

"She is Mordred." Daniel introduced.

"...Even Mordred is a female." Gray took a deep breath and then sighed.

"By the way, when you heard that King Arthur was a female, what was your mood?" Daniel looked at Gray curiously.

"Do not believe rumors, do not spread rumors." Gray threw out the six-character mantra without hesitation.

"Until I became a vessel myself." She immediately added helplessly, spreading her hands.

"Yo, nice to meet you, I am Aura." Aura in the driver's cab opened the middle door and raised her hand to greet Gray.

"Ears... Miss Aura, are you an elf?" Gray asked, looking at Aura with some surprise.

Although she knew of the existence of the Magus world, apart from the people in her village, she really hadn't seen many residents of the Magus world.

Let alone fantasy creatures.

"Yes! I am a Dark Elf!" Aura replied proudly. "I belong to the Master's personal guard."

"The Master refers to..." Gray's eyes looked at Morgan.

"Not me, it's him." Morgan pointed at Daniel and replied.

"Um, Mr. Daniel, do I also have to call you Master like Miss Aura?" Gray asked somewhat embarrassedly.

"No, currently only the three members of my personal guard call me 'Master'. You are not, so you can just call me Captain." Daniel replied, curling his lips.

This is probably the barrier between old members and new members.

Gray tentatively sat on the seat next to her, then looked around somewhat restrainedly.

Until the camper started slowly, Gray couldn't help but turn her head to look at the window.

Taking one last look at the village where she grew up from the window, Gray embarked on a new journey with this group of people she hadn't known for very long.
