Chapter 11 - Deep promise...

The night air was calm, yet something within Alex was far from still.

The Ocean Shore Pill, now fully refined, rested in his palm—its glow steady, pure, and controlled. The chaotic energy it once held was gone. In its place remained a silent, profound power.

Alex looked at it for a moment.

Then—

He consumed it.

The moment the pill dissolved within him—

A white glow spread across his face.

His body stiffened.

A deep current of energy surged through his veins.

Not violent.

Not chaotic.

But overwhelming.

His breathing slowed.

His mind sharpened.

Inside his body—

The water element began to move.

Not randomly.

But with purpose.

Guided.

Controlled.

The faint blue energy within him condensed, circling his core again and again.

Then—

A breakthrough.

A subtle shift.

Yet undeniable.

Yi Zhau's voice echoed calmly.

"You have stepped into the Second Star of the Elemental Awakening Realm."

Alex slowly opened his eyes.

The glow faded.

But something had changed.

His presence felt… heavier.

More stable.

More complete.

Yi Zhau continued.

"Your elemental foundation has strengthened."

"This will determine how far you rise in the future."

Alex stood up slowly.

He raised his hand.

Water from the nearby stream began to tremble.

Then—

It rose.

Floating into the air.

Not violently.

Not forcefully.

But smoothly.

Like it obeyed him.

Alex focused.

The water gathered.

Condensed.

Formed into a rotating sphere above his palm.

Its surface spun rapidly, compressing inward.

The pressure increased.

Then—

He thrust his hand forward.

The sphere burst outward into a sharp stream—

Striking a rock in the distance.

Crack.

A clear fracture spread across its surface.

Alex's eyes narrowed slightly.

Yi Zhau observed silently.

"Your control has improved."

"But do not mistake control for mastery."

Alex lowered his hand.

The water fell back to the ground.

A full day passed.

Then another.

Time moved quietly under the Baspian Waterfall.

Alex trained.

Again and again.

He practiced gathering water.

Compressing it.

Shaping it.

Releasing it.

Sometimes he failed.

The water scattered.

Lost form.

Lost power.

Sometimes—

He succeeded.

Each success was small.

But real.

He stood beneath the waterfall.

Letting the pressure crash against him.

His body trembled.

But he did not move.

He focused on controlling the water around him—

Not resisting it.

But becoming part of it.

Day turned into evening.

The sky dimmed.

The air cooled.

Alex sat near the water, breathing steadily.

Yi Zhau appeared beside him.

"Enough."

Alex glanced at him.

"For today."

A brief silence passed.

Then Yi Zhau spoke again.

"Now… I will teach you something else."

Alex raised an eyebrow slightly.

"What?"

Yi Zhau said calmly—

"Fishing."

Alex blinked.

"Fishing?"

"Yes."

Yi Zhau lifted his hand slightly.

A nearby stick rose into the air.

A faint white thread of soul energy formed at its tip.

It extended downward into the water.

Moments later—

A fish was pulled out.

Still moving.

Yi Zhau's movements were effortless.

He sliced it cleanly.

Summoned a small flame.

Cooked it.

Then placed it before Alex.

"All cultivation is not battle."

"It is also patience."

"Observation."

"Timing."

Alex looked at the fish.

Then at Yi Zhau.

"…Understood."

Night fell.

The forest grew silent.

Yi Zhau's form faded.

Returning to the Soul Sea.

"To rest," his voice echoed faintly.

Alex climbed onto a tree branch.

Resting his back against the trunk.

His body was tired.

But his mind remained active.

Slowly—

He closed his eyes.

The sound of the waterfall faded.

The world quieted.

Then—

A soft glow appeared.

A butterfly.

Delicate.

Its wings shimmered with a faint silver-blue light.

Not ordinary.

Its presence felt… warm.

Gentle.

It landed softly on Alex's hand.

His fingers moved slightly.

The butterfly lifted—

Floating toward his face.

Alex's eyes slowly opened.

He stared at it.

Calm.

Curious.

He raised his hand slightly—

Trying to touch it.

But it moved away.

Floating gently into the forest.

Alex stood up.

Something pulled him forward.

He followed.

Step by step—

He moved deeper into the Baspian Forest.

The darkness did not feel threatening.

It felt… guiding.

More butterflies appeared.

One.

Then two.

Then dozens.

They surrounded him.

Their light soft.

Peaceful.

Then—

They began to gather.

Forming a shape.

A figure.

Familiar.

But unclear.

Alex stopped.

His breath slowed.

His eyes fixed on it.

"Who… are you?"

The figure remained silent for a moment.

Then—

A voice.

Soft.

Gentle.

Yet filled with something deep.

"You have grown…"

Alex frowned slightly.

"I don't know you."

"I know."

The voice carried no anger.

Only warmth.

"But I know you."

Alex stepped forward slightly.

"Why do you feel… familiar?"

A pause.

Then—

"Because some bonds… do not disappear."

"Even when memory does."

Alex's expression tightened.

His chest felt heavy.

Something stirred inside him.

But he couldn't understand it.

"What do you want from me?"

The butterflies shimmered.

The figure stepped closer.

"I want nothing…"

"…except for you to move forward."

Alex's gaze sharpened.

"Forward to what?"

"To your path."

"To your destiny."

The forest grew silent.

The air itself seemed to listen.

Alex clenched his fist slightly.

"I don't know my destiny."

"You will."

The voice remained calm.

"But not by standing still."

Alex looked at the figure.

"Why me?"

A long silence followed.

Then—

"Because you were never meant to live an ordinary life."

"You were born… to carry something greater."

Alex's heart beat faster.

"What is it?"

The figure raised its hand slightly.

"Butterflies moved gently around them.

Then—

The voice spoke clearly.

"You have to became the heaven and stop this world from incorsions."

The words echoed.

Deep.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

Alex froze.

Something inside him responded.

Not understanding.

But accepting.

He stepped forward.

Trying to reach the figure.

"Wait—"

His hand extended.

Just a little more—

But—

The butterflies scattered.

The figure dissolved.

Gone.

Silence returned.

The forest darkened.

Alex stood alone.

His hand still extended.

His breath uneven.

The feeling remained.

Strong.

Unfading.

He slowly lowered his hand.

His eyes closed.

For a moment—

He said nothing.

Then—

Quietly—

"I don't know who you are…"

"But I won't forget those words."

The wind moved softly through the trees.

The waterfall echoed in the distance.

Alex turned back.

Walking slowly toward his resting place.

But something had changed.

Not power.

Not strength.

But purpose.

Unclear.

Yet real.

He lay back on the tree branch.

Looking at the sky.

His eyes steady.

For the first time—

He felt like he was moving toward something.

Not away.

"A promise does not need memory…

it only needs a heart willing to carry it."
