Chapter 34 - part 32

The car stopped outside her house.

Same place.

Same ending.

But tonight—

neither of them felt the same.

Anxin stepped out slowly.

Her hand slipping out of his just a second later than usual.

As if even that small distance needed effort now.

"...goodnight," she said softly.

Hedi looked at her.

For a moment longer than necessary.

"...go inside."

She didn't move immediately.

Then smiled faintly.

"...you're doing that again."

"What."

"...pretending you're okay with this."

"...I will be if u agree to stay at your boyfriend's house".

" Boyfriend when did I had a bf I don't remember."

"ohh.. u don't let me make u remember sweetheart, he said moving out of his car and running behind her."

they both run across the garden, laughing loudly.

Hedi moves faster picks her up and twirls her.

"o so do u remember darling who is Ur bf or....."

"Or what..."

He didn't reply just kissed her hungrily, "do u remember or not sweetheart, or I have other ways too."

" NOOOOO... I remember u are my loving bf ", she said breathing heavily.

"Go inside love or I may not be able to control myself," he said kissing her forehead.

They bid greeting.

She turned and walked inside.

The door closed.

And for the first time—

Hedi didn't start the car immediately.

then he waited until she moved inside her house.

And then he went to his house felling lighter than ever before .

[Hedi POV – Control Begins]

By the time he reached his house—

the silence felt heavier than usual.

He walked in.

Removed his coat.

Didn't stop.

Didn't sit.

Straight to the shower.

Cold water.

Sharp.

Controlled.

Because her presence—

her voice—

her closeness—

her lips—

It hadn't left him.

Not even slightly.

He stood there longer than necessary.

Letting the water run.

Trying to reset something that refused to calm down.

"...focus," he muttered under his breath.

but it was impossible after tasting her he just wanted her again and again.

[Study Room – Work as Distraction]

Two hours.

Files.

Meetings.

Numbers.

Decisions.

Everything moved perfectly.

Efficient.

Sharp.

Unaffected.

Except—

it wasn't.

Because in between lines—

between pages—

between silence—

He kept seeing her.

The way she looked at him.

The way she didn't move away.

The way she stayed.

They way she held him.

The way she closed her eyes when he kissed her.

Her blushing face.

Her smile.

They way her eyes shines.

They were enough to make him lose control and take a shower again.

He closed the file.

Harder than necessary.

"...this is inefficient," he said quietly.

[Gym – Aggression Release]

The gym lights flicked on.

Cold.

Bright.

Focused.

Gloves tightened.

The punching bag didn't move at first.

Then—

impact.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Two hours.

No pause.

No distraction.

No thoughts allowed.

Except one.

Her.

Every hit—

was control.

Not anger.

Not frustration.

Control.

Because if he stopped—

he would think again.

And that—

was worse.

Late Night –

Dinner was quiet.

Quick.

Unimportant.

The house felt the same.

But not right.

Too still.

Too empty.

He walked into his room.

Paused.

Looked at his phone.

Then picked it up.

[Message Scene – Emotional Break]

He didn't overthink.

Didn't rewrite.

Didn't delete.

He typed once.

"I would prefer a positive answer."

Pause.

Then added—

"Stay with me."

Sent.

No second thought.

He placed the phone beside him.

Closed his eyes.

Didn't sleep immediately.

Because for the first time—

he was waiting for something he couldn't control.

[Next Day – Normal That Wasn't Normal]

The day passed like every other.

Work.

Decisions.

Meetings.

But something stayed slightly off.

No reply.

He didn't message again.

Didn't call.

Didn't ask.

But he noticed.

[Evening – Hospital Pickup]

By night—

he was already outside the hospital.

Waiting.

Same place.

Same time.

But this time—

she didn't come out.

Five minutes.

Ten.

Fifteen.

His eyes shifted toward the entrance.

Slightly sharper now.

He stepped out of the car.

Walked inside.

The reception nurse looked up.

"...Doctor Anxin?" he asked.

"She already left," the nurse replied.

Silence.

Hedi's expression didn't change immediately.

"...when."

"A while ago."

That wasn't right.

[Tension Rise – Something Off]

He stepped back slowly.

Mind calculating.

Timing.

Distance.

Possibilities.

She didn't call.

Didn't message.

Didn't wait.

That wasn't like her.

For the first time—

something unfamiliar entered his thoughts.

Not fear.

Not panic.

Disruption.

He stood outside the hospital again.

Phone in his hand.

Screen still empty.

Then—

he dialed.

Ringing.

No answer.

His jaw tightened slightly.

"...where are you," he said quietly.

And for the first time in a long time—

Wang Hedi didn't have control over the situation.
