Chapter 1 - Ch 1: Into The New World

It was a normal day. Everyone was busy with their work, roads were packed, everything was normal — except that today, the human population on Earth had reached 10 billion.

For a day, it was a significant topic. Many scientists expressed their concern for the growing future population and the increased burden on the Earth.

But for most people, it was not their concern. They just went about their work.

Suddenly, the entire Earth began to shake. It was an earthquake — at least, that's what people thought.

But it was not. Suddenly, a purple cloud began to surround the Earth. Soon, the entire Earth was bathed in a sea of purple fog. People were in a panic; they didn't know what was happening. All electronic items had stopped working, and everyone soon became isolated from the world.

No one knew what was happening. Their bodies were frozen — they couldn't move a single muscle.

But after a few hours, the purple fog began to fade. People regained control of their bodies again, but now their familiar Earth was gone.

Literally everything was gone. Rather, it wasn't even Earth anymore.

The entire population had been transported out of Earth into a strange plain.

And it seemed the reason was overpopulation, or something like that.

...

A thin-looking young man was huddled at the back of the camp in an area with no other people. He was about to eat a strange purple fruit he held in his hand.

Just then, a middle-aged man with a bunch of lackeys came forward. But as soon as they saw him, they rushed forward and kicked him in the stomach, snatching his fruit. It was then handed to the man in the middle.

Then another lackey came forward and delivered another kick to the writhing boy.

"How can a low life eat something this precious? Don't you know the rules?"

With that, the boy was kicked a few more times. Tears streamed down his face as he tightly clutched his stomach in pain.

"I know."

He barely said those words.

"You know, and still dare to hide the loot?

You must be looking for death."

With that, he was kicked again.

"Now go — quickly crawl to the boss and apologize, otherwise..."

Kai, clutching his stomach, crawled towards the man in the middle.

"I was wrong. Please let me go. I won't do it again, please."

The man looked down at Kai growling at his feet without any sympathy and simply gave Kai another kick.

"Don't dirty my shoes, you low life."

Then he stomped on Kai's hand. "Ughhh... I'm sorry."

"Let's go."

With that, the man led his lackeys away, leaving Kai on the ground in agony.

After a few minutes, Kai stood up casually, as if nothing had happened, and walked away.

...

It had all started exactly three months ago.

Three months ago, the entire Earth had been transported to this unknown plain.

They were scattered all around this world.

In this dangerous world, as soon as they arrived, they were devoured by predators. Many humans died the moment they arrived.

But people didn't know whether it was a blessing, yet many discovered that they possessed some magical powers and professions.

Those with professions instantly became the main fighting force of humanity.

And within three months, they began to form small groups — small because the human population was too scattered.

Soon, bases began to appear all around. But for the completion of a base, there was one condition: to form a group, there was a title that was absolutely necessary — the Leader title.

Titles were achievements that could be earned by professionals by completing specific tasks.

There was a mysterious panel called the Status Panel by the professionals.

As long as you awakened a profession, you gained access to the Status Panel. It not only showed your stats, abilities, and profession, but also contained many features like world chat, regional chat, a trade system, and much more — things that Kai had heard about only by eavesdropping on some professionals.

He did not know more, because unlike professionals, ordinary people who had no profession did not have access to the Status Panel.

And because of this, many professionals who called themselves superior treated ordinary people like slaves.

The unnamed camp Kai currently resided in had been established by one of the professionals with the Leader achievement.

At first, for a few days, everything was normal. But as time passed, because ordinary people didn't have much fighting power, they began to be discriminated against inside the camp. Soon, the camp divided into two classes — a high class and a low class. Professionals were the high class, and ordinary people were the low-class low lives.

Inside this camp, of around 120 people, only about 30 were professionals — the rest were ordinary people.

While professionals lived in luxury, ordinary people didn't even have proper meals twice a day.

They were exploited by the professionals.

Every few days, a team of professionals would go out on a hunt. But this was no ordinary hunt — what they were hunting were other humans.

They would raid small groups, loot them, and enslave them.

Young women became their playthings. Young men and others were enslaved as workers.

And Kai was one of those unfortunate people who had not awakened any profession.

After arriving at this place, at first he was slightly lucky. With his sharp mind, he managed to stay alive somehow.

At that time, he had joined a small group of around 15 people. By approximately the 15th day after their arrival, many people had already begun to awaken professions.

The group had awakened one professional. At first, everyone was happy and even celebrated. But after two more professionals appeared, things that should have been fine began to go wrong — conflicts started to arise.

Soon, the trio of professionals began to demand more supplies. At first, it was somewhat reasonable, but as time went on, their demands became more and more outrageous.

It started when one of the professionals, a man around middle age, began to harass a 20-year-old girl.

In a panic, the girl stabbed one of his eyes, and in a fit of anger, he burned her alive.

After that incident, everyone became more and more afraid of the professionals. Soon, conflict after conflict broke out between the professionals and the ordinary people.

All the professionals were powerful with many miraculous abilities, but their power was still in its infancy and they were still weak, so they couldn't fight against multiple people at once. Unwillingly, they took one-third of the supplies that everyone had collected together and left the group.

After the professionals left, it was quiet for a few days. But as time went on, it became harder and harder to collect supplies or hunt.

Without professionals, it became more dangerous to search for prey, supplies, fruits, or anything else.

One day, during a hunting outing, a team of about five people rushed back to the camp — which was in a cave — with injuries. Out of the five, three were holding basketball-sized eggs in their hands.

Two people were injured and bleeding heavily.

As soon as they entered the cave, people came forward to treat their injuries while asking what had happened. Some people were anxious, but others had their eyes on the massive eggs. There were three of them.
