I sat up straighter, trying to look respectful but also curious.
"It better not be about those two pests," she said, her face turning cold again.
The mood in the cave changed instantly, and she glared at me. Her eyes seemed to glow in the dim light, making me regret opening my mouth for a second.
"No, no, no! It has nothing to do with them," I said fast, holding my hands up. I was scared she'd get even angrier.
I had no idea why she hated those two blue-tailed merfolk so much; they seemed pretty harmless compared to her.
I didn't want to mention Artria or Gerin ever again if it meant she would look at me like she wanted to turn me into a skeleton too.
Her face went back to normal once I explained. "Alright then," she said, leaning against the wall. She looked relaxed, but I knew she could move faster than a bullet if she wanted to.
"What is it?"
I let out a big sigh of relief, deciding to chose my words wisely.
