Chapter 34: Jacobs POV.
The bull shark sped towards us like a gray rocket. It's merciless eyes was more than enough to tell that it didn't care about the fact that it was outnumbered.
From the looks of it, it just wanted to sink its teeth into something soft.
The manatee, usually so calm, finally seemed to realize it was in trouble. It tried to paddle its flippers, but it was far too slow to escape a predator moving at that speed.
I didn't even have to think. My body moved on instinct, fueled by the strength of my shark half but guided by my human mind.
I reached out and grabbed the chubby manatee, putting my shoulder into it and shoving the creature toward Garin.
I didn't mean to be rough, but the force was enough that he got knocked back a bit as he caught the large sea cow.
They tumbled backward through the water, away from the path of the charging beast.
As for the shark, it missed its target completely.
