Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Dreams of the Night Market

The group moved together from the dining area into a spacious planning chamber deep within the labyrinth. Soft crystal lights glowed along the walls, and a large round table stood ready with maps and blank parchments. Milim led the way with quick, eager steps, her twin tails swinging behind her. Ramiris floated at her side, already sketching ideas in the air with tiny sparks of magic. Shuna followed with quiet grace, carrying a notebook filled with the Malaysian recipes she had learned. Rimuru walked beside Veldora, his expression calm and thoughtful, while Gobta trailed after them, still licking the last traces of peanut sauce from his fingers.

Milim clapped her hands the moment they reached the table. "Alright! This new floor will be the best ever! We will call it the Night Market Haven. Bright lanterns everywhere, music playing, and food stalls that make your mouth water just by looking at them. Visitors will feel like they stepped into Takumi's memories!"

Ramiris spun in a happy circle. "I can make the lanterns float and change colors with fairy magic. And the paths will wind like a real market street, with little surprises around every corner. Maybe some cute glowing signs that say 'Welcome to Malaysia' in big, friendly letters."

Shuna opened her notebook and spoke with gentle care. "The food must feel authentic. We will build real stalls with open kitchens so guests can watch the cooking. Nasi Lemak wrapped in banana leaves, fresh Satay grilled over charcoal, and Roti Canai stretched by hand. I will teach the staff the exact steps so every plate tastes like the ones from Takumi's homeland."

Rimuru listened to each idea and nodded slowly. "This sounds wonderful. We must think about how guests will move through the floor. Wide paths for crowds, resting areas with benches, and clear signs so no one gets lost. The labyrinth already welcomes many visitors. This new section could become a place where people from different nations sit together, share food, and learn about one another."

Veldora stood with steady dignity, his blonde hair catching the crystal light. He spoke for Takumi, his voice warm and clear. "Takumi suggests we add small touches that bring his memories to life. Street lamps that glow with the same golden light he remembers from evening markets. A central stage where performers can play music or tell stories from Malaysia. And perhaps a quiet corner where guests can view gentle illusions of the real places he knew—Ipoh's old buildings or the busy night stalls of Kuala Lumpur."

Milim leaned over the table, eyes shining with excitement. "Yes! And we need games! Takumi told us about night markets with fun things to do. We can have a small area where people play simple games like ring toss or try to win prizes. I will make the prizes magical—little lanterns that never go out or sweet treats that refill themselves."

Benimaru arrived shortly after, drawn by a quick message from Rimuru. He studied the rough map on the table and offered practical thoughts. "Security must come first. We can place hidden guard posts that blend into the market design. The floor should feel safe and welcoming, even when it grows busy. I will train a special team to watch over everything without disturbing the fun."

Diablo appeared silently at the edge of the room, his black uniform neat as always. He bowed to Rimuru before speaking in his smooth, measured voice. "My lord, this floor holds more than joy. It can serve as a quiet bridge for diplomacy. Guests from the Western Council could visit and taste these dishes. They would see the federation not only as a strong nation but as one that shares warmth and culture. I will prepare secure invitation lists and watch for any hidden intentions."

Shuna turned to Veldora with a soft smile. "Takumi, if you have more memories of the markets, please share them. The smells, the sounds, the way people smiled at each other. I want every detail to feel right."

Veldora relayed Takumi's words with care. "Takumi remembers the lively calls of the sellers, the way families gathered under strings of lights, and the gentle evening breeze that carried laughter and the scent of grilling food. He says the most important part was the feeling of belonging. We should make sure every visitor feels that same warmth here."

Ramiris drew glowing lines on the map with her finger. "Look! We can have a main street that leads to a big open square. In the center, a fountain shaped like a Malaysian temple with water that sparkles at night. Food stalls on both sides, and small shops selling handmade crafts inspired by Takumi's world. I can link it to the labyrinth's magic so the floor changes slightly with the seasons—brighter lights in summer, cozy lanterns in winter."

Milim pointed at the map with enthusiasm. "And we need a performance stage right here! Dancers, singers, even short plays about Takumi's memories. I will perform the opening show myself. Everyone will cheer and want to come back again and again!"

Gobta scratched his head and grinned. "I can help with the taste-testing station. No bad food will reach the guests if I check it first!"

Rimuru placed his hands on the table and looked at each face in turn. His deep golden eyes showed quiet pride. "We have many good ideas. Let us combine them carefully. The floor will open in stages so we can test everything and make sure it feels perfect. Shuna will lead the food area, Ramiris the magical design, and Milim the entertainment. Veldora and Takumi will create the special illusions and any interactive elements we need. Benimaru and Diablo will handle safety and diplomacy. This will not only honor Takumi's past but also strengthen the bonds between all our friends and visitors."

A soft glow appeared above the table as Takumi channeled a gentle stream of creation energy through Veldora. A small, living model of the planned floor took shape—tiny lanterns floated, miniature stalls showed steaming dishes, and faint sounds of cheerful voices filled the air. Everyone leaned closer, eyes wide with wonder.

Milim reached out to touch one of the glowing lanterns. "It is beautiful! Just like the real thing, but in our world. Takumi, you are the best partner ever!"

Shuna's voice was soft with emotion. "Seeing this makes my heart feel full. We are not only building a floor. We are building a place where memories live on and new friendships begin."

The discussion continued for a long while. Ideas flowed freely—more stalls for different Malaysian dishes, a smartphone station where guests could learn simple recipes, even a small library corner with stories from Takumi's homeland. Every suggestion was met with encouragement and thoughtful adjustments. Laughter rose often, especially when Milim suggested adding a roller-coaster shaped like a giant Satay skewer or when Ramiris proposed floating food trays that followed guests around.

As the meeting drew to a close, Rimuru spoke with steady warmth. "This floor will be ready soon. When it opens, it will show everyone the heart of Tempest—open, kind, and full of wonder. Thank you, all of you, and thank you, Takumi, for sharing your memories with us."

Veldora placed a hand on the glowing model, his expression one of quiet satisfaction. "Takumi feels the same gratitude. Together we have turned a simple meal into something that will touch many lives."

Milim hopped onto the table with a bright laugh. "Then let us start building tomorrow! I cannot wait to see the first lights turn on!"

The group left the chamber with light steps and full hearts. Outside, the labyrinth hummed with its usual gentle energy, but now it held the promise of something new and beautiful. The Malaysian Night Market floor would soon become a living bridge between worlds, a place where flavors, stories, and friendships met under strings of warm light.

In the quiet after the meeting, Takumi's calm presence lingered in Veldora's mind. "Bro, this feels like the best chapter yet."

Veldora smiled to himself. "Indeed, my friend. And the story is only beginning."
