Chapter 6 - Game On

You wanna keep the suspense rolling .

Lena's eyes darted around the room, searching for an escape route . Her gaze landed on a small window, partially hidden by the shadows . It was a risk, but it was her best shot .

Without taking her eyes off Father Alex, Lena edged towards the window . "Stay away, Father," she warned, her voice firm .

Father Alex's smile grew wider, but his eyes seemed to be... morphing? . Lena's stomach dropped . She spun around, pushed the window open , and slipped through, dropping into the night .

Lena plummeted towards the ground, her stomach in her throat . She landed hard on the grass, the wind knocked out of her , but she scrambled to her feet, gasping for air . The clock tower loomed above her, its shadows casting an eerie glow .

She took off running, her feet pounding the pavement . Footsteps echoed behind her – Father Alex, closing in . Lena's lungs were burning , but she pushed harder, darting into a narrow alleyway .

Suddenly, a hand clamped over her mouth , pulling her into the shadows . "Shh, it's me," a voice whispered in her ear .

It was Elian.

Lena's eyes adjusted to the darkness, and she saw Elian's intense gaze . He slowly removed his hand from her mouth , his eyes darting to the alley entrance . "Father Alex is not what he seems," he whispered, his voice urgent .

Lena's mind was spinning . Who was playing her? She looked at Elian, his expression twisted in a mix of concern and calculation . "Why should I trust you?" she whispered back .

Elian's eyes locked onto hers, a spark of desperation . "Because I can help you control the power," he said, his voice low and husky . "The entity's mark is on you, Lena. You can't escape it ."

Suddenly, footsteps stopped at the alley entrance . Father Alex's voice called out, smooth as silk , "Lena, come back. You're in danger ." .

Lena's heart was racing . She glanced at Elian, then back at the alley entrance . Father Alex's words sent a shiver down her spine . "No," she whispered, her voice firm . "I'm not going back."

Elian's eyes gleamed with approval . He grabbed her hand, pulling her deeper into the shadows . "Come on," he whispered, his voice urgent .

They emerged onto a crowded street , the neon lights blinding . Elian pulled her into a taxi , and they sped away from the church .

As they drove, Lena's phone buzzed . A message from an unknown number : "I'm watching you, Lena "

Lena's eyes met Elian's . "Who's that?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper .

Elian's expression turned grim . "Someone who's playing with fire.
