Robert had barely left the office, the weight of the day finally began to settle on him. He had tried his best to act as though everything was within his control on til this moment.
He loosened his tie as he walked toward the parking lot, his mind still occupied with the meeting he had attended that afternoon. The company had received a lot of attention following Loretta's marriage to Kevin. Now it isstruggling to maintain its new position among the larger corporations in the city, and lately, every decision seemed to carry more risk than the last.
He reached his car and pulled open the rear door. The moment he stepped inside, something felt wrong.
Robert froze, the man sitting in the driver's seat was not his usual driver. His hand immediately moved toward the door handle, but before he could open it, a cold voice came from beside him.
"Don't do anything stupid, and you will return home safely."
