After the crossbred creature was demolished, Andrew Milson returned to his Science lab and the New York construction crew got to work on the damage caused by the big animal. Daniel got ready for the trip back to California but before that, they thought of having a word with the Mayor of New York about the coincidence of last week.
They went to the Mayor's residential home but they didn't schedule an appointment so they had to come another time. Daniel had to go so Max took care of the appointment himself but then something popped up. A mysterious person offered to take care of Daniel's trip back to California by providing him with a private pilot and plane. The plane was in good shape according to Daniel so he gladly took the nice gesture even though he doesn't know the stranger. On the other hand, Max got an appointment with the Mayor but the Mayor's senior advisor, with a worried expression on his face told Max that the Mayor went missing a few days ago and the whole crew of police men have went out looking for him but no luck. It wasn't yet announced in the news so the civilians know nothing about his disappearance. Daniel's flight went surprisingly well and he was even treated like a first class passenger. From all the eating and drinking, he felt pressed and went to use men's room in the plane. He tap the auto flush button but instantly got teleported to an unexpected place with an opening at the end, it looked like he was in a cave but what he saw seemed like a clue to the Mayor's disappearance but not only was the mayor missing, the king happened to be missing too.
Max got a message from Daniel saying he should track his location and come get him. He quickly got to work and managed to find his phone's location all the way in New Jersey. Daniel saw a rough message written on the wall of the cave but it was too rough to read so he took a picture and sent it to his brother to scan and print while he figures out how to get back to the city.
Back in New York, Max got to work on the message but it seemed to be another language so he translated it. Daniel's spirit animal could only last 30 minutes but luckily he figured out where he was and flew swiftly on his firefly, eager to return to New York. The message was done being translated but it wasn't still clear. Max hadn't heard from Daniel in a while so he tried calling him but it seemed his phone was switched off. He printed the message and tried reading it. It took some time but he finally got the message.
"Where silence swallowed the final breath, the truth still sleeps beneath his death."
Max, of course, didn't get the message, but he realized that maybe the King and the Mayor were dead. How they died, though, was the real question! Daniel was back from his trip and thought to pay a visit to the person that owned the rigged plane.
The person stayed Anonymous for a while but when he got some useful information about the man, he visited his home. Max accompanied him but when they got there, they found out that the man who owned the jet died some days ago. The death of the king, the Mayor and this anonymous stranger could be linked so they journeyed to the same cave they got the weird message. Daniel himself couldn't remember the exact way to get there so they used the pinned phone coordinates to find their way back to the cave. Unfortunately, when they got there, the message seemed to have disappeared. Everything about this case was a mystery.
