Chapter 4 - The damn feather-head

Morvadeus, holding his bleeding hands, angrily stomped at the bunny lying beside his feet with his heads opened.

'You little red-fur, now who is the one showing his teeths?' he thought, laughing.

The pain in his hands travelled through his whole arm, making his forehead perspire.

He hissed, feeling the burning in his whole body. Looking at the teeth marks, which were now becoming black, he knew this little bunny was also poisonous.

Remembering the teaching of his uncle Sylthar, the gears turned fast in his mind. He tried to think of a solution.

'Remember Morvadeus, the best antidote is in the venom itself', he suddenly remembered.

Morvadeus looked at the bunny. Taking his knife out he cut its chest open. A red core was there, coated by its thick blood, a sign of its Blood Awakening stage.

He also angrily cut his fur, putting it away, for the memorial of his first hunt.

Working swiftly, he endured the pain. He found some plants, and crashed into a fine powder with a rock.

'I hope this works, it feels like a million needles are picking my hand' Morvadeus hissed.

Taking a container he put the powder in it, then he punctured the red core with his knife, letting a reddish liquid flow straight onto the powder.

'This bunny could've easily killed me if it wanted. I'm lucky with the fruit. I was able to surprise him and exchange his life for mine.'

'Not a bad deal for a fruit, thank you mother. Even here you're protecting me.' he thought to himself.

His mother at home, worriedly thought of Morvadeus, not knowing if he was safe or not, and certainly unaware of the events happening to him.

I should be more careful in the future, this is not the peaceful Empire, but the savage wild. His eyes glinted, having the realization that he was alone, and no one would rescue him.

Mixing the medicine rapidly, he put it on some of the leaves and coated his hands with it, tightening with some vines.

'Hopefully the poison won't travel upwards in my arm. This should slowly suck it out and regenerate my wounds,' he thought, the pain making him weak.

'I lost so much blood, I should rest for a while, somewhere' Morvadeus felt weak, his body turning colder.

Knowing the bunny blood would attract some beasts, he continued his travel, wobbling towards the unknown.

After he left the area, he searched for a place to rest. With his willpower and last bit of strength he climbed up on a tree, trying to find a safe location.

He glimpsed at an entrance of a cave not far away, it suited him perfectly. He could hide there and rest his tiredness out.

'Awesome, I will just head there, and rest till tomorrow'

A huge bird flying in the sky, spotted a juicy human on the canopy of a tree. Thinking of getting an easy meal for today, it swiftly headed towards Morvadeus.

It flew fast and swift, like a silent killer, its sharp beaks aiming to drive into his chest. He was laughing inside, happy for himself for today.

Morvadeus instincts kicked in; thanks to his powerful soul, he sensed dangerous killing intent in time.

Looking towards its source, he barely had time, to duck himself down, surprising the bird, making its hunt unsuccessful.

The cry of an angry bird echoed in the forest. Flying up, it was ready to strike again, wanting to eat the cheeky child.

'Woaah! That was close. That damn feather-head,' he exclaimed, yet again, nearly losing his life, made him upset.

'Just wait! I will cook your generation into an omelette!! You will be the main meal of our celebration when I step into Myo.' Morvadeus' anger soared at the insolent feather-head.

Morvadeus' anger blinded him, he readied his weak stance to welcome the attack of the feather-head, challenging it provocatively.

The bird yet again, angrily screeched, seeing the smirking child challenging him.

'I will feed you to my little chicks, your organs will be the delicacy for our family, you insolent little shat' the bird exclaimed in his head.

As it was nearing swiftly towards him, Morvadeus's feet slipped, making him fall down from the tree.

The bird's eyes gawked at the sudden event, missing his target yet again.

He readied himself for the fall, making sure he reduced the impact as much as he could.

'Ahh, I will..- pull.. - your-.. -dam.. -feathers..- out.-one..-dam.' Bamm!He slammed into the ground, his back nearly cracking. He held his clenched fists up threatening the bird who was far away. The bird was angry and disappointed in himself, flying away his screech continuously echoed, full with anger and frustration.

Having endured the brutal training with his uncle, Castiel everyday. Morvadeus's body, even without the Myo-Refinement, was strong enough to endure a fall from this height.

Getting up, still cursing the bird in his mind, he continued his way towards the cave.

'This forest is really dangerous, I need to be more careful,' he thought seriously, considering the recent events.

Finding the cave, he deemed it to fit his taste. He wobbled inside, but before he rested, he took a rock.

He carved his name "Morvadeus", on the side of the wall proudly, and some basic runes on its entrance perimeter; which he learned from Elyndra.

'My cave now, hi-hi' he happily thought.

These runes would make the smaller creatures cautious, and they wouldn't dare to enter. But a bigger one wouldn't mind and just come inside.

'Hopefully, I could rest for today,' lying beside the wall he thought.

His vision got blurry as the fatigue caught up to him.

Trying to sleep, he put his little head down. Bumping into a rock accidentally, a lump appeared on the back of his head.

'This damn place, I wish it was at least half as comfortable as the bark of the Tris-Aevum Arbor,' he grinned from the pain.

Getting the fur out of his pouch, he put it under his head, making a pillow at least for now, manageable to sleep on it.

'You were useful at least, little bunny,' Morvadeus thought, as his eyes slowly closed. He was exhausted, and the carving of the runes used up, even his last bit of mental energy.

Hoping the symbols will keep out the intruders. His eyes drifted into sleep.

Meanwhile, the bird still cursed Morvadeus' ancestors for making him angry, forming an undying enmity between themselves.
