It's the second day of school, well technically our first day of class. It was mostly just about going through course objectives. All of us listened attentively aside from a few who were somewhat disinterested like Oreki and Karma. Kururugi appeared to be invested, as well as Shirogane. While everyone else had blank expressions.
Nothing much happened until class was over. After sensei left us, the room was quiet for a bit, so I decided to speak up.
"Is it ok if I share some knowledge?" I asked
"Of course, knowledge is power after all" Sora answered.
"What is it that you want to share Ayanokouji-kun?" asked Kaguya
"Since we already know each other in this class, I think it would be a good idea if we gather info on the other classes. So that way we can assess any possible student and class that could potentially be a threat to us."
"Great idea Ayanokouji-san, gaining intel on the other classes will be quite useful" Kei said
"Besides, we don't just need intel about the school of course, so we that said I want you guys to investigate classes A through D. First of all, we have Class A, any volunteers?
Kei asked the entire class and waiting for an answer.
"I don't mind checking out Class A, besides I wanna see this so called "best class" Karma said with a confident tone. He sounded excited there, I wonder what's gotten into him?
"I'll go as well" Akise followed
"I will also go as well; I am quite curious about Class A." Tatsuya answered
"I'll go too" Yumeko followed as well.
"Alright you four will check out Class A, what about Class B? Kei asked
"I'll check out Class B, mind if you accompany me Light?"
Ryuzaki volunteered, it is quite surprising and with Light. I've seen Ryuzaki interact with Light the most in this class so that makes sense.
"I'll go with them as well" Shirogane volunteered
"Me too!" Kaguya said responding quickly
"Alright then, now who wants to check out Class C?" Kei asked
"Very well, I'll have a look at Class C. I'll take Suzaku with me" said Lelouch
"I'll also have a look at Class C" Yuuki said
"I'll join them as well" Kirigaya followed
"Guess this leaves Class D huh?" I sighed
"Yes Ayanokouji-san, anyone else? asked Kei
"I'll go with him, besides I'm quite curious about this "defective" class after all" Sora answered
"And I'll take Shiro with me" he added
"I'll go with them as well; I am a bit intrigued on why that class is considered the "defective" class" Katagiri said.
"Hold on, what about you Kei?" I asked
"Ohh yeah, what are you gonna do, oh great leader?" Karma said teasingly
"Let's just say I have some other things to do but I'm not gonna tell just what it is, well except for someone who I might bring along since there isn't anyone else." I saw what he meant as his sight was on Oreki.
"Oreki-san, wanna join me?
"I don't think so, besides I'd rather conserve my energy than to-"
"Don't worry, I'll assure you that it will be worth your while" Kei said as he cut him off
Oreki was reluctant but he answered "fine"
"Great thanks Oreki-san" Kei said happily
And with that all of us were investigating our chosen classes. To be honest, it is unfortunate that I had to check out Class D, but I hope that there is at least something interesting there.
Karma POV1
I'm currently with Akise-kun, Tatsuya-kun, and Yumeko-san. We're finding where Class A is right now. Ever since I transferred to this school, I was a bit disappointed that I had to leave my previous school since I did make a lot of good friends there, but I guess it can't be helped. This school is quite interesting though. I mean being given 100,000 yen on the first day is unbelievable. Even I couldn't get this kind of allowance. But anyways I wanted to check out Class A since I want to know if any of them could pose an interesting challenge. I mean the type of challenge that even a certain son of a principal couldn't do.
"I think this must be it" Tatsuya-kun pointed as we have arrived.
"Class A huh? well then, there's no need to waste time now huh?" I said as I opened the door
As we looked around the classroom, it is as what Ayanokouji-kun described. Class A was calm, collected, and well behaved. While continuing to look at the class, I heard a girl's voice.
"Ohh hello, we weren't expecting visitors" she said, the girl was short with lilac hair, and she was holding a cane. I'm guessing she can't walk if she has a cane. Even though she seems harmless, she has this certain aura that screamed powerful. I wonder if she's the leader of this class.
"Is there something you want?" she asked she came towards us.
"Oh we're just here to look around. Anyways my name is Akabane Karma, this here is Tatsuya, Yumeko, and Akise" I said as I pointed them out
"Nice to meet you Akabane-kun, I'm Sakayanagi Arisu." she introduced herself.
Sakayanagi huh? isn't that the Chairman's name as well? I mean I was bored throughout the second ceremony, but I did at least remember the name of the Chairman. I wonder if those two are related?
"Sakayanagi, who are these people?" a boy with a bald head asked as he walked towards us
"No need to be so cautious Katsuragi-kun, they're just here to look at our class"
The boy whose name is apparently Katsuragi gave us a serious look, he seems quite suspicious of us, but I don't blame him if he is.
"Are you sure? I don't think we should just casually interact with the other classes; they could have an ulterior motive" he said
"Calm down baldy, we're not here for trouble. I mean is it wrong to greet other classes?" I spoke.
Katsuragi glared at me for a bit but sighed and said "Fine, do what you want for now, I'd rather not waste my time here". With that he went back to his respective seat.
I did notice something strange; it seems that the class seemed to have two different groups. One group is quite close with Katsuragi while the rest looked like they're a bit distant from the others. Given by how those students see him, I think Katsuragi might also be the leader as well. hold on two leaders? If that would be the case, then it's either both are against each other, or they want two leaders to ensure that there would be someone else that can lead them. I can't really tell nor care if that's the case, what matters is this is definitely the top class that could give me that challenge.
"Anyways we'll take our leave now, nice meeting you Sakayanagi-san" I said but before the four of us left she stopped us.
"Wait, I'd just like to ask, which class are you all from?" She asked, darn it why did you decide to ask that. I don't think any of us should leak any information about the class. I looked at the three others that stood with me thinking that they may have an answer that could get us out of this.
"We're from the second year, Class 2-A" surprisingly Yumeko-san answered. *phew* I thought that I'd do all the talking.
"Ohh so you must be our senpais?" she asked
"Yes, we are just here to greet you first years, nothing more to it." Akise said
"Alright, it's nice meeting all of you" she said with a smile.
As the four of us left.....well three of them since I stayed since I want to say something to her.
"Sakayanagi-san"
"hmm?"
"Would it be ok if our class challenges you in the future?" I asked with a confident tone 2
As I looked at her while speaking, the rest of Class A suddenly gained their attention towards us. As they did, Sakayanagi wore this smug smile on her face. Seriously I've never seen anyone with this smug of a smile before on their face.
"A challenge huh?"
"You think that you can challenge me? I can assure Akabane-kun, I don't think it would be wise for you to do so." She said confidently while still wearing that smug smile. Seriously that smile is kinda slowly creeping me out.
"Don't worry, when I came to this school. I wanted something simple, and that's a challenge and I'm sure given you are from a top class, you can give me one."
"fufufufu very well then, guess I'll be waiting Akabane-kun" she said before I left the classroom.
As I got out, the three of them were waiting for me.
"What took so long" Akise-kun asked
"It's nothing important" I said
As we walked through the halls going back our classroom, Tatsuya-kun spoke.
"Don't you think it's strange?" he asked
We looked at him thinking that he could be on to something.
"I mean did you notice that their class is a bit divided?" he questioned, I guess this confirms what I had thought. Tatsuya-kun seems to be able to figure it out.
"Ohh yeah, I noticed it, but why would there be two separate groups in that class?" Akise-kun asked
"This maybe just a guess but, they might be against each other and probably fighting on who gets to lead this class" Yumeko-san answered, I had the same idea, and it seems that both Akise-kun and Tatsuya-kun are also in agreement to that idea.
"Well Sakayanagi-san does look like the person who can lead this class, but Katsuragi could also qualify for that role since I saw him surrounded by other students and looked at him as if he was the leader." everyone nodded, looks like they figured out some stuff well.
'I guess this school isn't going to be boring after all. I hope you bring your A-game Sakayanagi-san. You have no idea who you're up against.' I said to myself with a big smirk.
