Chapter 3 - Chapter 2:Dormitory Days at Beacon

POV: Aether Lux**

The bells of Beacon Academy echoed through the grand halls as the newly formed teams dispersed, laughter and chatter filling the air. For the first time since his reincarnation, Aether Lux felt something unfamiliar settle in his chest.

Relief.

Team ALTR was officially formed. The future had shifted—but not broken.

Yet.

He adjusted the strap of Solstice Edge across his back as he followed his teammates toward their assigned dormitory.

"So," Thorne Calder said, cracking his knuckles with a grin, "which one of you geniuses wants the top bunk?"

Riven Noctra answered without looking up. "You may take it. Gravity will humble you eventually."

Thorne snorted. "I like her already."

Luminara Vale sighed softly. "Please try not to destroy the furniture within the first hour."

Aether chuckled. *This is going to be interesting.*

They reached their dormitory—a spacious room with four beds, polished wooden floors, and a large window overlooking Beacon's courtyard. Sunlight streamed inside, bathing the room in warm gold.

Thorne immediately leapt onto a bed. "Dibs on this one!"

The mattress creaked ominously beneath him.

Luminara pinched the bridge of her nose. "I shall request reinforcement from the maintenance staff."

Riven silently claimed a bed near the window, setting down her belongings with graceful precision.

Aether placed his case beside the remaining bunk.

"It seems we're settled," he said.

Luminara folded her hands elegantly. "Before we proceed, introductions are in order. We may be a team, but mutual understanding is essential."

"Aether Lux," he said with a polite nod. "I look forward to working with all of you."

"Thorne Calder," the redhead replied. "Vacuo-born and proud. If something needs punching, I'm your guy."

"Luminara Vale," she said gracefully. "Atlas. Strategist and support specialist."

Riven inclined her head. "Riven Noctra. Reconnaissance."

Thorne blinked. "That's it?"

She met his gaze calmly. "That is sufficient."

Aether smiled. "I think we'll work well together."

A soft chime echoed in his mind.

## **A Meeting of Teams**

Later that afternoon, Aether stepped into Beacon's courtyard. The sky was painted in hues of amber as students gathered to unwind after initiation.

"Hey, Aether!"

He turned to see Ruby Rose hurrying toward him, her crimson cloak fluttering behind her.

"Ruby," he greeted warmly.

Her silver eyes sparkled. "Congratulations on becoming a team leader! That's amazing!"

"Thank you," he replied. "And congratulations to you as well, Leader of Team RWBY."

She beamed. "It still feels unreal."

Behind her, Weiss crossed her arms. "Do try not to let it inflate your ego, Ruby."

Blake stood quietly nearby with a book in hand, while Yang grinned with easy confidence.

"So you're the famous Aether," Yang said. "Nice moves back there."

"I appreciate it," he replied.

Weiss examined him critically. "Your combat performance was… respectable."

Ruby leaned closer and whispered, "That's Weiss-speak for impressive."

Aether chuckled softly. "I'm honored."

Yang stretched lazily. "We should spar sometime. RWBY versus ALTR."

Thorne, who had just arrived, grinned. "Now that sounds like fun."

"Agreed," Luminara said. "It would be an excellent training exercise."

Riven simply nodded from the shadows.

Ruby clasped her hands together. "Let's do it! Friendly rivalry!"

Aether met Ruby's gaze, his expression warm.

"I look forward to it."

For a brief moment, the world seemed quieter. The setting sun cast a golden glow over the courtyard, illuminating her silver eyes.

"You did great today," she said softly.

"So did you," he replied. "You were incredible."

A faint blush spread across her cheeks.

"T-Thanks."

Yang smirked knowingly. "Ooooh, I see what's happening here."

Ruby's face turned bright red. "Yang!"

Aether laughed gently. "Perhaps we should call it a day."

## **Nightfall at Beacon**

That night, the dormitory was silent.

Moonlight filtered through the window as Aether stood alone, gazing out at the stars.

Beacon shimmered under the night sky—a sanctuary of hope.

A chime echoed in his mind.

**[Aura Ascension System Activated]**

**Name:** Aether Lux

**Level:** 6

**Semblance Unlock Progress:** 52%

Aether's expression grew solemn.

Images of the future flashed through his mind—fire, chaos, and falling kingdoms.

He clenched his fist.

"I won't let it happen," he whispered.

No matter the cost.

Outside, a single rose petal drifted past the window, carried on the night breeze.

And for the first time since his rebirth, Aether allowed himself a small, hopeful smile.

Tomorrow would bring new challenges.

But he wouldn't face them alone.
