Spring returned, embracing the land warmly. Flowers bloomed in abundance throughout the palace grounds, and they were Sez’s favorites. Rayton had specifically filled the garden visible from the bedroom window with lorinathus flowers, all by hand. This was a gesture for Sez, who, caught up in caring for Eton and unable to get fresh air while she attended to her duties, could enjoy a bit of nature.
“…I should’ve made the garden bigger.”
Rayton muttered to himself, standing by the window. He’d thought it ample, but upon looking down from above, it didn’t quite satisfy him. Coincidentally, tomorrow was due to be a long-awaited day off.
‘Maybe I should go out early in the morning to decorate the garden…’
It was during these thoughts that his eyes met Eton’s, cradled in his arms.
“…Can’t sleep?” Rayton asked gently, though a few-month-old baby would hardly understand his words.
Still, Rayton continued to speak to him.
