The rebels who’d stood with Bern were long since executed, and the palaces, once consumed by fire and collapse, had just undergone reconstruction. There was nothing left to worry about.
Peace had blessed Den Helder, and the palace buzzed with renewed life. The temple shared in this revival.
The temple was gradually changing. No longer did it persecute or kill those with magical power. The birth of a child with magic was no longer a secret to be kept.
