Just when it appeared that rain might grace them over the coming days, today, the sun curiously blazed in full glory. The sky was clear, devoid of any clouds, yet the summer heat wasn’t overwhelming. A warm breeze flowed gently and sunlight bathed everything in a soft, agreeable warmth. The day of the royal marriage ceremony had, thankfully, been blessed with good weather.
“How are you feeling, Your Royal Highness?”
Kaen, looking at Sez, seemed to be dripping with tension.
“I’m okay. Seems like you’re more nervous than I am.”
Kaen smiled awkwardly.
“But you seem remarkably composed, Your Royal Highness. More so than I expected!”
“Is that so?”
It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that Sez felt calmer than she did nervous. Truthfully, if she were to be completely honest, it might’ve been because she had grown accustomed to Rayton’s constant attentiveness over the past few days. In other words, she’d gotten used to a trial by fire.
