The hastily joined lips quickly parted.
With a face dripping with longing, Haven looked at me, unable to either close the gap or distance himself.
Was this what he meant by wanting the same thing?
After boldly kissing me, his eyes sought permission, lingering on my lips.
I chuckled and moved closer to him.
As I wrapped my arms around his neck, Haven's left arm encircled my waist tightly, and our lips met again.
His other hand, initially lost in midair, hesitated to touch me and instead gripped the bedpost nearby.
It was a kiss deep enough to engulf us.
After the intense, almost burning kiss ended, Haven breathed out a long sigh as if trying to control his ragged breathing.
Then he said, “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this moment.”
His voice, always pleasant to hear, cracked slightly at the end.
Close enough for our noses to touch, his dark eyes were still fixed stubbornly on my lips.
I briefly considered embracing him again.
