Staring at the basilisk slowly rising in the cave, Genise seized Edwin by the collar.
After leaving Dehart Castle with Edwin under Raviel's order, she asked where they were headed. Edwin replied that they were off to catch a snake.
The innards of a basilisk, to be precise, found only in the deep mountains of the north, were said to be the best remedy against lung disease. It was for the empress's medicine, so Genise felt motivated and got on board.
