I smiled at my quick-witted and clever fiancé and replied, "I would rather not have a second confrontation with Riverdun. They are like a safety net to avoid war."
Gripton was struggling in the war against the Seven Hills and Riverdun alliance. Partly due to the two rascals running wild, but also because the silent non-cooperation of Zilton citizens was subtly hindering them.
Over the past month, Gripton had been pushed back continually and was now pulling all their forces into Ingram, the capital of Zilton. It looked as though they were trying to avoid sporadic skirmishes from three sides and form a defensive line in Ingram.
Since Haven had cut off the connection between Gripton's mainland and Ingram, they really had no other choice.
I wasn't sure what preparations Gripton's army was making in Ingram, but after all, this war would end in a victory for the Seven Hills and Riverdun alliance.
