When I raised my hand, Edwin might have thought I was going to slap him because he bent over to offer his cheek. His eyes were stern as if to say he wouldn't back down no matter what.
But instead of his cheek, I reached for his head and ran my fingers slowly through his smooth hair.
I could totally relate to his emotions. If I were in his shoes, I would be just as furious and would have probably rushed to the murderer of my little brother.
Gently stroking Edwin's head, I said softly, "I have some things I need to say to him, Eddy. Just wait for me until then."
"... Can I be the one to tear him apart?"
"Yes, of course."
"Alright. I'll listen to you, Raviel."
"Good boy."
Edwin's face twisted as I praised my obedient and lovely little brother. My poor sibling, who had lost his only remaining family twice, leaned his head on my shoulder.
He then said in a tearful voice, "Please don't die, Raviel. We might not be able to turn back time again."
