Laying Haven on her legs, Raviel said in a falsely stern voice, "You should go to sleep now."
"I think I would prefer something else," he replied.
"The other thing can wait. For now, sleep. That's an order."
When his heart's owner commanded, Haven obediently closed his eyes. But of course, sleep was the last thing on his mind.
Haven lay there, breathing evenly with his eyes shut, but the thrill of meeting Raviel again hadn't faded. He wanted to keep looking at Raviel without stopping for even a moment.
Eventually, Haven slightly lifted his eyelids and locked eyes with Raviel, who was staring at him.
"Haven, are you disobeying me?" she asked.
"No, it’s not."
"Then close your eyes."
"But I can't sleep."
"Close them anyway. You haven't slept a wink in three days," Raviel said, covering Haven's eyes with her hand.
