It felt as though I had pushed it away with the comforter, but before I even noticed, Haven's arm wrapped around my waist. When I stealthily opened my eyes, I found sunlight streaming in through the curtains.
I turned around in Haven's embrace and murmured, "Haven, it's morning."
Even though he knew I meant for him to let go, Haven held me tighter and kissed my shoulder.
"The morning sun seems in a hurry. It's not great with timing," he replied.
Ever since summer arrived, the mornings seemed to have lost their sense of subtlety. And my husband, regardless of the season, often lost his self-control.
I disentangled myself from Haven's arm and sat up. There were some documents I needed to review before the morning meeting.
Normally, Haven would have tried a few more times to keep me in bed, but today, for some reason, he let go without much fuss and got up.
