As always, I cleared my piled-up work and went for a walk with Haven. What started as his suggestion had now become an indispensable part of my routine.
It was getting quite warm these days, so we settled under the shade of a pavilion surrounded by a garden lush with the green hues of spring.
Haven held my hand in one of his, a fan in the other, and as usual, kissed the back of my hand.
"It looks like you will have some downtime starting tomorrow," he said.
"Well, actually I need to meet with various delegations beginning tomorrow."
"Should I tell them to just send written congratulations?"
"It’s more of a hassle to respond to those," I replied, shaking my head.
Haven sighed softly. He might have worried about me overworking the past few days, but I couldn’t give him the answer he hoped for.
The royal wedding week was officially starting tomorrow. It might sound absurd, but I also didn’t realize an empress’s wedding could be so demanding.
