"You can go back now..." said Qayy. "Alright, be careful here," Dzeth replied.
"How can a Grade-D alone kill a Cursed Being that has already used Reincarnation? I need to know more about Sorcerers... even though I'm Grade-S, I'm only in the Hunter Class. I still need techniques like the Cursed Energy that comes from my sword to defeat curse-type creatures..." Qayy sighed softly. "Phew... that kid... is he a Hunter or a Sorcerer? If he's a Sorcerer, he should have a Cursed Technique, not a Hunter Technique like mine..." Qayy truly didn't understand that boy. Was Dzeth a Hunter? Or a Sorcerer?
Location: Takahashi Residence Time: 6:30 P.M.
Dzeth stood in front of the main door of his house. He didn't open it immediately; he was lost in thought. "What if Aunty gets angry at me? I'm coming home late again today... Argh, better just open it myself."
Dzeth opened the door and peered inside. "I'm home..." he said in a soft, calm voice.
"Ahhh, you're late again? Never mind, go upstairs and get ready to eat down here, okay?" Dzeth's Aunty spoke with deep affection. "Alright, I'll be down as soon as I'm done," Dzeth replied. He had forgotten that his Aunty wasn't like the bullies at his school; she was the person responsible for making him happy.
Dzeth went upstairs and opened his bedroom door. He entered, tossed his hoodie onto the bed, and sat down for a moment.
"I... I am Dzeth, classified as a Hunter. But just now... I managed to kill it with my bare hands. It's impossible for a Hunter to kill a Curse with bare hands. Only Sorcerers can do that because they possess Cursed Energy... Did I really use the Divergent Fist from Cursed Energy? And not Hunter Energy...?" Dzeth pushed those thoughts aside and headed to the bathroom to shower and cool off.
After finishing his shower, Dzeth went downstairs for dinner. He remembered that in the letter Zenith gave him, there was a secret mission that would grant him a handsome reward for a Grade-D student. He wanted to eat quickly so he could go out and meet Zenith. Dzeth sat at the dining table and began eating tamagoyaki with his chopsticks. (Mmm, Aunty's cooking is delicious...) Dzeth ate with a cute expression on his face.
Once dinner was over, Dzeth left the house and headed to the location Zenith had provided.
Upon arrival, Dzeth didn't see Zenith anywhere, so he decided to call him.
Beep~
Zap... Zenith was suddenly right behind Dzeth. As a lightning-fast Grade-A Hunter, it was no surprise Zenith could do that. Dzeth froze for a second before turning around to face him.
"I thought you wouldn't come, Dzeth... this mission is quite difficult. You could say the level is..." Without finishing his sentence, Zenith tossed a strangely shaped key. Dzeth caught it.
Zenith continued, "You could say it's Grade-S level, or perhaps even higher..." Dzeth stood frozen and shocked! Not because of Zenith's words, but because of his sharp senses, he felt something very odd about this key.
Dzeth almost didn't hear Zenith mention "Grade-S" because his focus was entirely on the strange feeling the key gave off. He then went back to listening to Zenith's explanation.
"Techniques have two branches! Cursed and Hunter!" Zenith said with a cheerful face. But suddenly, his expression turned serious. "In this world, only two humans have ever reached the absolute limits of the Hunter Technique... They became the terror of the world, feared even by the strongest Cursed Beings."
"They are the human with the strongest Cursed Technique in history, and the human with the strongest Hunter Technique today."
