Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 For Flying Swords

Sam held the glowing blue Tesseract in one hand.

In his other hand, he held Loki's scepter.

He looked closely at the blue gem on the scepter.

He knew a massive secret that no one else in the room knew. It wasn't just a magic stick powered by the Tesseract.

Hidden deep inside that blue shell was the yellow Mind Stone.

Sam decided to keep that a secret to himself. Fury was already angry enough.

Later that night, the Avengers finally rested.

Sam and Natasha returned to the quiet peace of their mansion.

They sat together on the edge of their large bed.

The two Infinity Stones rested on the table in front of them, humming with ancient, cosmic power.

Natasha rested her head on Sam's shoulder.

"What are you thinking about, Sam?"

Natasha asked softly.

"Your mind feels very far away."

Sam wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled.

"I am looking deep into my memories,"

Sam answered, his voice calm and focused.

"In the ancient world of cultivation, there are many divine techniques that use the pure power of space and time. With these stones, I can learn them."

Natasha looked at the glowing blue cube.

"Are you going to use it tomorrow?"

She asked.

"No,"

Sam shook his head slowly.

"I cannot use the Space Stone yet. If I try to absorb it now, the cosmic energy will tear my human body apart. I must break through to the next stage of cultivation first."

Natasha sat up and looked into his deep, peaceful eyes.

"What is the next stage?"

She asked with genuine curiosity.

"It is called the Nascent Soul Stage,"

Sam explained, keeping his words very simple.

"To reach it, I have to do something extreme. I have to completely shatter my mortal shell."

Natasha's eyes widened slightly.

"Shatter your body? That sounds dangerous."

"It is the only way to step into true immortality,"

Sam told her gently, holding her hand.

"Right now, my life is long. But when I reach the Nascent Soul Stage, my lifespan will become completely limitless. I will be free from the rules of life and death."

Sam pointed at the Tesseract.

"When I shatter my mortal body, my soul will need a new home. I will use the endless energy of the Space Stone to create a brand new vessel for myself. A perfect, immortal body."

Natasha smiled warmly. She loved seeing him so passionate and strong.

"And what about the scepter?"

Natasha asked, pointing to the other weapon.

Sam's smile grew wider. He picked up the scepter and looked at the glowing gem.

"This one is different,"

Sam said confidently.

"This holds the Mind Stone. And the best part is, I do not need a new body to use it. I can use it right now."

"What will it do to you?"

Natasha asked, moving a little closer.

"It will feed my soul,"

Sam explained.

"I will absorb its pure mental energy to completely enhance my mental world. My brain will become a massive, endless ocean of thought."

Sam raised his free hand. A single, small pink flying sword appeared, floating easily above his palm.

"Right now, I can control a few hundred flying swords in battle,"

Sam said softly, watching the small blade spin.

"But after I absorb the Mind Stone? My mind will be so vast and powerful that controlling millions of flying swords won't be impossible anymore."

Sam closed his hand, and the sword vanished.

"It will be as easy as breathing,"

Sam whispered.

Sam walked over to a heavy steel safe in the corner of the room.

He placed the glowing blue Tesseract carefully inside and closed the heavy door.

He didn't just lock it with a normal key.

He placed his hand flat against the metal door and pushed his warm, pink Qi into it.

The metal glowed briefly as his magic sealed it completely tight.

"The space stone is safe,"

Sam told Natasha, turning back to the room.

"No one in this world can open that box without my energy."

He walked back over to the bed and sat cross-legged on the soft carpet.

Natasha sat quietly, watching him closely. She loved seeing him work his ancient magic.

Sam picked up the heavy scepter.

He wrapped his hand around the gem at the top.

With a quick, sharp squeeze of his physical strength and his Qi, the shell cracked.

It shattered like cheap glass, falling to the floor.

Floating in the center was a small, brilliant yellow gem. The Mind Stone.

"It is beautiful,"

Natasha whispered, her green eyes reflecting the golden light.

"Let's see what it can do,"

Sam smiled gently.

He closed his eyes and let the yellow stone float up until it pressed directly against the center of his forehead.

Instantly, a massive, roaring wave of pure, golden energy rushed into his brain.

Inside Sam's head, his mental world began to grow.

The borders of his mind, which were already vast, pushed outward at an incredible speed.

Mountains of thought formed, and oceans of pure mental energy filled the empty spaces.

His mind expanded endlessly.

But the power of an Infinity Stone was too ancient and too vast.

Sam quickly realized he could not absorb all of its power in a single sitting.

If he tried to eat all that energy at once, it would overload his soul.

So, Sam took a deep, steady breath.

Instead of absorbing it all, he did something only a master Cultivator could do.

He pulled the physical stone directly into his soul.

The glowing yellow gem slowly sank into his forehead, passing right through his skin, and vanished.

Natasha gasped softly.

"Where did it go?"

Natasha asked, leaning forward in pure wonder.

Sam slowly opened his eyes. For a brief second, they flashed with a brilliant, golden light before returning to his deep, calm color.

"It is living inside my mental world now,"

Sam explained smoothly.

"I cannot absorb it all today. So, I put the stone perfectly in the center of my mind, and I wrapped my pink Qi tightly around it. It will stay there, slowly feeding my soul drop by drop."

Sam tapped the side of his head with a confident smile.

"It is also the perfect defense,"

Sam told her.

"Because the Mind Stone is sitting inside my head, it creates a massive, unbreakable wall around my thoughts. No one in the universe will ever be able to read my mind or control me. And the stronger my mental world gets, the stronger that shield becomes."

Natasha smiled warmly. She knew how dangerous mind control was.

Knowing her man was completely immune to it made her feel incredibly safe.

"Show me,"

Natasha whispered playfully.

"Show me how strong your mind is right now."

Sam smirked. He simply raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

The air in the bedroom instantly hummed with intense, vibrating power.

*Whoosh!*

A glowing pink flying sword appeared.

But it didn't stop there.

One sword turned into one hundred.

One hundred instantly turned into one thousand.

In a matter of seconds, thousands of glowing pink swords filled the entire bedroom.

They floated perfectly still in the air, pointing in every direction, filling every empty space around the bed.

They didn't shake. They didn't wobble.

Sam was controlling thousands of deadly blades at the exact same time, and his face was completely relaxed.

"Incredible,"

Natasha breathed out, looking at the beautiful, deadly sea of pink swords.

"And the best part?"

Sam smiled gently, closing his hand to make all the swords vanish back into thin air.

"This is just the beginning. The number is only going to keep increasing."

Natasha moved closer on the bed, resting her head against his chest.

She listened to his steady heartbeat, feeling incredibly safe.

"So,"

Natasha asked softly, looking up at him.

"What do we do now? Do we just wait for this Thanos to show up?"

Sam shook his head slowly.

His deep eyes stared blankly at the far wall as he searched through his memories of the future.

"No,"

Sam answered, his voice calm but serious.

"Thanos won't come for a long time. But there is another major event happening soon. It involves Thor and his home, Asgard."

Natasha frowned slightly.

"What is going to happen?"

"There is another Infinity Stone out there,"

Sam explained, keeping the complicated universe simple.

"It is called the Reality Stone, or the Aether. It is an ancient, fluid magic that can change reality itself. Soon, a forgotten army called the Dark Elves will wake up. They want to steal the Aether to plunge the entire universe into darkness. They will attack Asgard to get it."

"Then we have to warn Thor,"

Natasha said firmly.

"We will,"

Sam agreed, gently stroking her red hair.

"We will help him protect his home. But to be completely honest with you, Nat... I also want to take that stone for myself."

Natasha let out a soft, amused chuckle.

She looked at the safe in the corner, and then at Sam's forehead.

"You already have the Space Stone and the Mind Stone,"

Natasha smiled playfully.

"Are you getting a little greedy, Sam?"

Sam laughed loudly. It was a rich, honest sound.

"I cannot help it,"

Sam confessed with a wide smile.

"In the cultivation world, we have a very strict rule. If you see a heavenly treasure, you hoard it. Cultivators love to collect powerful artifacts. We need all the resources we can get to walk the path against heaven. Having the Reality Stone would be perfect for me."

"Why?"

Natasha asked, tracing a circle on his chest.

"What would you do with reality magic?"

Sam raised his hand. A single, glowing pink flying sword appeared, hovering gently above his palm. He looked at it with pure, childish joy.

"Think about it, Nat,"

Sam said, his eyes sparkling with pure excitement.

"With my Qi alone, it takes a lot of mental energy to form these blades. But with the Reality Stone? I could literally turn empty air into solid, permanent metal. I wouldn't just control swords—I could create them instantly."

Sam let the single sword vanish. He looked at Natasha with a massive, happy grin.

"I could make millions of flying swords with just a single thought,"

Sam said eagerly.

"I really, really love flying swords, Nat. I mean, honestly... who wouldn't love it?"

Natasha burst out laughing. It was a bright, beautiful sound that filled the quiet bedroom.

She reached up and kissed his cheek.

"Only you, Sam,"

Natasha laughed warmly.

"You hold the power to shape the entire universe, and all you want to do is make more shiny flying swords."

"It's a classic style,"

Sam argued playfully, pulling her close into his arms.

"And besides, a man can never have too many swords."
