Chapter 10 - A-list To S-list

Louis stood outside panting like a man who had either run up several floors of stairs…

…or had just chased a criminal. His hair was slightly messy.

Mo Fei, "Did you run here?"

Louis pushed past him without answering. He marched straight into the apartment like a man entering a battlefield. The first thing he did was open the fridge, grabbed a bottle of water then poured it into a glass and drank the entire thing in one go.

The empty glass hit the counter.

Louis breathed out like someone who had just survived a disaster. Mo Fei's phone buzzed again he looked down and tapped the notification and saw that Sima Li reposted the photo.

Mo Fei walked slowly toward the couch, then collapsed onto it.

Louis immediately walked over. "What now?"

Mo Fei silently handed him the phone.

On the screen, the exact same photo.

But this time it was posted from a verified account. 'SIMALI_OFFICIAL'

Louis stared at the screen. His brain began doing math. Earlier today, Mo Fei had offended Zhang Yichen, embarrassed himself and nearly got fired. But now… Sima Li had personally reposted a photo with him. The internet was exploding again. Louis slowly lifted his head and looked at Mo Fei.

This man… Should have been finished. Career destroyed. But somehow the universe had thrown him a lifeline. Louis handed the phone back slowly.

"I don't know who took that photo…" He rubbed his forehead. "But thank the gods for them."

Mo Fei shrugged lazily. "The camera didn't even catch my good side."

Louis' eyes flashed with something extremely violent for a brief moment

Murder, pure murder. Then it disappeared. Louis turned away. This idiot, he thought to himself.

Meanwhile Mo Fei had already gone back to scrolling the comments. Now the repost had turned the internet into a full-scale war.

The numbers were climbing like crazy. The comment section under Sima Li's repost was moving so fast it looked like a waterfall.

Mo Fei squinted. "…Internet people are terrifying." He tapped out of the comments and opened his own profile page. For a moment he just stared. "…Huh?" He refreshed the page. The numbers updated.

Mo Fei slowly sat up. He leaned closer to the screen like the numbers might suddenly run away. Before the scandal, the original Mo Fei had 10.7million followers. Then the scandal exploded, fans fled like birds escaping a forest fire. Within days it dropped to 6.5 million. Mo Fei remembered reading that earlier and thinking

Wow, that must hurt.

But now…

The number was climbing. 9.6M. Mo Fei's eyebrows shot up. He refreshed again.

Mo Fei sat up straight. "Louis."

Louis looked over from the kitchen where he was stress-drinking his second glass of water. "What."

Mo Fei slowly turned the phone toward him.

"Is my phone broken?"

Louis frowned and walked over.

"What are you talking ab... " He stopped mid-sentence. The number jumped again.

10.2M

Louis blinked.

Mo Fei refreshed again. Another refresh.

11.0M. Both men froze.

Louis stared at the screen like it had personally insulted him. "…That's impossible."

Mo Fei slowly looked at another page.

He tapped Sima Li's profile.

Followers: 106 million.

Mo Fei leaned back against the couch. Then nodded thoughtfully. "That explains it."

Louis looked like someone who had just discovered the cheat code to life. "Sima Li reposted your photo."

"Yes."

"And now his fans are following you."

"Yes."

Louis rubbed his face slowly. "You gained four and a half million followers in under two hours."

Mo Fei smiled. "People really love angels."

Louis turned his head slowly. "…What."

Mo Fei pointed to himself proudly. "The little girl at the orphanage said I was one."

Louis stared at him. Then he sighed.

"I'm managing a lunatic.... When did you make your account public?"

Mo Fei. "Few hours ago."

Louis nodded slowly. For the first time since he had become the manager of this walking disaster…

Mo Fei had actually done something useful.

"…Good."

Mo Fei looked suspicious. "Did you just compliment me?"

Louis ignored the question.

Instead he pulled out his phone and started tapping rapidly.

Messages.

Notifications.

Emails.

His manager brain was already working.

Then he suddenly looked up. "A cosmetic brand contacted me."

Mo Fei blinked. "That was fast."

Louis nodded. "They reached out one hour ago after the photo went viral."

He showed Mo Fei the message. " Xi's beauty."

Mo Fei whistled. "its a big brand."

Louis "They want you for a promotional shoot."

Mo Fei leaned forward slightly. "Seriously?"

Louis pocketed his phone. "You'll need to prepare."

"When?"

"Tomorrow."

Mo Fei blinked. "…Tomorrow??"

Louis was already walking toward the door. "The internet moves fast."

He grabbed his jacket.

"And right now you're trending.... again!"

Mo Fei leaned back on the couch again. "Well."

Louis opened the door. "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning." Then he left.

The apartment door clicked shut. Mo Fei stretched across the couch again like a lazy cat. His phone was still buzzing. He opened Sima Li's repost again, the comments were now even crazier. Millions of people arguing. Fans fighting.

People analyzing the photo like it was a crime scene.

Mo Fei grabbed a snack from the table and kept scrolling. "…This is more entertaining than TV."

Mo Fei's phone glowed in his hand while the comment section continued to explode beneath Sima Li's repost.

He grinned so wide his cheeks started to hurt.

"The internet is insane."

He shook his head, amused.

"One minute they want you dead… the next minute they're calling you baby."

He popped another snack into his mouth and leaned back comfortably.

And honestly? He wasn't complaining. If anything, Mo Fei felt deeply satisfied.

He tapped his chin thoughtfully and glanced at his reflection faintly visible on the black phone screen.

A beautiful face. Sharp eyes. Perfect features. Mo Fei nodded to himself seriously. Even without Sima Li… I am exceptional of course the internet will love me, this face is practically a public service."

His grin widened in his thoughts

Right then...

DING. A notification popped onto the screen. Mo Fei squinted at it as his brain processed the words slowly.

"simaliofficial started following you."

Mo Fei sat up straight so fast the snack bowl slid off the couch.

"…See."

He pointed proudly at the notification like it proved his entire argument. "No one." He smiled smugly. Without hesitation he tapped the profile. Follow back. Done.

Mo Fei leaned back again with the satisfied air of a man whose charm had once again conquered the world.

Meanwhile. Somewhere across the city.

Sima Li refreshed his screen.

Then laughed. "Well well." He glanced toward Zhang Yichen sitting across the room.

"Your new neighbor just followed me back."

Zhang Yichen didn't look up from the script in his hand. "…And?"

Sima Li's grin widened. "Oh nothing."

He leaned back in his chair. "I just think Mo Fei is interesting"

In a brightly lit dressing room filled with the soft scent of setting spray and expensive perfume, Xiao Mei sat in front of a large mirror rimmed with warm bulbs.

She looked every bit the national sweetheart the public adored.

Beautiful.

Delicate.

Flawless.

A makeup artist stood behind her, carefully brushing the final touches onto her face while Xiao Mei, entirely unconcerned with the seriousness of the process, hummed softly to herself and scrolled through her phone.

Her long lashes fluttered lazily. On her screen was the now-viral photo.

Mo Fei. Sima Li. Zhang Yichen. All in one frame.

Xiao Mei raised one elegant brow.

"Oh?"

She tapped the image and zoomed in.

One second. Two. Three....

A blush rose rapidly across her cheeks. The kind of blush that made her look like she'd just been caught writing love letters in class.

"Feifei gege is sooo pretty…" Her voice came out in a dreamy little purr.

Behind her, the makeup artist nearly twitched. "Meimei," the artist said helplessly, "please stay still before I ruin your makeup."

Xiao Mei rolled her eyes dramatically, though the pink on her face only deepened.

"But isn't he cuteeee?" she said, stretching out the last word shamelessly as she continued staring at the photo.

She zoomed in again on Mo Fei's face. Then again. As if she needed further scientific confirmation that yes, this man was offensively handsome.

"It's been a while since I saw him," she murmured, almost to herself. "I wonder how he is…"

The makeup artist, clearly too used to this behavior to be surprised, gave a small sigh and said, "Then why don't you go visit him?"

Xiao Mei's eyes lit up immediately.

"Can I?"

That hope lasted for exactly one second.

Because at that very moment, a cold voice cut through the room from behind her.

"N to the fucking O, No!!."

Xiao Mei's entire face fell. She turned in her chair with a pout. Standing near the doorway was her manager, Li Hua.

A Tall beautiful woman in her thirties and carrying herself with the calm authority of a woman who had spent years preventing disasters before breakfast.

Xiao Mei's pout deepened. "But why?" She clutched her phone to her chest like a tragic heroine. "Gege already got out of the hospital."

Li Hua frowned as she walked further into the room. "There is no universe," she said flatly, "in which I let you get close to a walking scandal disaster like Mo Fei." Her eyes narrowed. "Not now. Not ever."

Xiao Mei gasped like she had been deeply wounded. "How can you say that? Feifei gege is... "

Li Hua raised one hand.

Instant silence. "No!."

Xiao Mei deflated in her chair. Li Hua turned toward the makeup artist and flicked her fingers slightly.

"Finish her makeup."

Then, without another word, she turned and walked back toward the door. Behind her, Xiao Mei sat with her cheeks puffed out, glaring at the mirror in offended silence.

Then she looked down at the phone in her hand again. At the zoomed-in image of Mo Fei's face.

And muttered under her breath. "…Still pretty."

Mo Fei paced restlessly across the length of the apartment, his bare feet making soft sounds against the polished floor. The spacious living room of the Nyx apartment suddenly felt too small for the thoughts swirling inside his head. His phone lay on the coffee table, screen still glowing faintly with notifications that refused to stop.

Trending again.

Ever since he woke up in this body, it seemed the internet had decided to revolve around him.

Mo Fei stopped pacing and dragged a hand through his hair.

"…This is ridiculous."

Just yesterday he had been a nobody. A man who fought tooth and nail for every tiny opportunity he could get. Back then, survival meant grabbing whatever scraps life threw his way and holding onto them with both hands.

And now. Now he was Mo Fei. An A-list model. A face recognized by millions. A scandal walking through the entertainment industry like a ticking bomb.

He leaned against the window and looked out over the city lights far below.

The truth was simple.

He had already spent hours thinking about it. There was no explanation for how he ended up here. No divine voice. No instructions. Just… a second life.

Mo Fei exhaled slowly. "What's done is done."

If this was his reality now, then he would accept it.

He turned away from the window and resumed pacing, his expression slowly sharpening.

There was one thing Mo Fei had always known how to do, even when he was a nobody in his previous life. Work. Fight. Climb.

The entertainment industry was brutal. Even the memories left behind by the original owner of this body confirmed it. The former Mo Fei had lived carefully, almost timidly, despite possessing everything necessary to dominate the industry, he had the talent, looks and Connections.

He had all the ingredients needed to rise higher than A-list. Much higher.

And yet…

He chose to stay quiet. Low-profile. Avoiding attention like it was something dangerous.

Mo Fei stopped pacing and stared at his reflection in the glass window.

A sharp jawline.

Perfect skin.

Eyes that carried an almost unreal beauty.

He tilted his head slightly, studying himself. What a waste.

The previous Mo Fei had the potential to become an S-list national celebrity, someone who stood at the very peak of the industry.

But he had never chased that spotlight.

Mo Fei clicked his tongue. Well I'm not that guy.

He crossed his arms confidently.

With this face? He gestured toward himself dramatically. And this exquisite body?

Mo Fei shook his head. He would rather die again than not use it to its full advantage.

His eyes gleamed with ambition. The road to the top was long. But Mo Fei had never been afraid of climbing. And now…

He had the perfect weapon.

His face.

His name.

And a second chance.

Mo Fei dropped onto the edge of the bed, staring thoughtfully at the ceiling.

In the entertainment industry, everyone knew the hierarchy.

A ladder that determined who ruled the spotlight and who simply survived in its shadow.

At the very top.

S-Tier — National Superstars:

The untouchables. The people whose names alone could move the market, dominate headlines, and shut down an entire city with their fan meetings.

Below them:

A-Tier — Top Industry Figures.

Household names. A-list actors, models, singers, celebrities whose faces were everywhere.

Then:

B-Tier — Rising Stars.

Talented newcomers climbing the ladder, constantly fighting for recognition.

And finally:

C-Tier — Minor Celebrities.

The ones still trying to be noticed.

Everything below that…

Well. Those people were simply background noise.

Mo Fei swung his legs lazily and leaned back on his hands. He had started his old life at the very bottom.

The kind of nobody the industry didn't even bother remembering. But this time? He had been transmigrated directly into A-Tier.

An A-list model.

Mo Fei grinned slowly.

This was basically life on easy mode.

Well. Mostly.

The scandal was still hanging over his head like a thundercloud ready to explode again.

But Mo Fei simply shrugged. So what?

His eyes gleamed with a dangerous excitement. Scandal or no scandal. This was his life now.

And he had absolutely no intention of wasting it. He jumped up from the bed and walked toward the mirror again, examining the face staring back at him.

Mo Fei folded his arms proudly. He pointed at his reflection. "We're racing to the top now."

The reflection pointed back.

Very handsome. Very convincing. Mo Fei nodded to himself seriously.

"All I have to do… is put in effort."

Then he leaned closer to the mirror and smiled with pure confidence.

"I, Mo Fei…" He struck a dramatic pose.

"…the handsome, dashing, intelligent demigod that I am…" His grin widened.

"…will never let this beautiful face die out as just an A-list model." He straightened up proudly.

"S-Tier." His finger pointed upward.

"That's the destination."

Mo Fei picked up his phone again and looked at the viral photo once more. Then chuckled softly. "Step one." He stretched lazily. "…already started."
