I took the cup from her and sipped on the surprisingly cold and refreshing liquid, momentarily marveling at how rejuvenating it was and enjoying the sharp prickling on my tongue before I settled into the seat properly and stared at my new... employer.
Valentina did the same, sitting back down and leaning back as she just stared at me for a few seconds, doing as she normally did yet now looking far more imposing thanks to the large and somewhat cluttered desk that she was sitting behind.
That silence almost stretched to a painful degree when Valentina finally spoke, breaking it smoothly and immediately making me sit on the edge of my seat as she said "The first thing that we are going to need to come to terms with is that you are far too weak right now."
