"Damn that Donovan and his cronies! How did the bastards even sneak into the school without alerting the guards much less the teachers? Did they bribe one of the lecturers or do they have insiders within the school constantly watching and reporting every move I make?! Damn! damn! damnit all!!!"
Walking along the red-carpeted floors of the grand hallway, Alderen was lost in his thoughts, mumbling and cussing out at times. His hair frazzled, his expression tense as he walked towards the large open doors that led out the curated dorms. Dressed in skin tight pants and a loose cotton white shirt with frilly sleeves, he walked outside the gentlemen's dorms his leather boots thumping dimly with each step he took.
"How did they even know which room I was in? Ever since the entrance exams, I haven't seen them much less even communicated with them-wait, could they have planted something in me. The bastard and his wife were well known liquidators back in the day but that's impossible, too many people have been killed just for knowing my name..."
The air was cool as it carried within itself the soft sea breeze west of the great school, with the moon shining down gently and the beautiful gardens that sprawled out endlessly before the dorms, a sense of rest could be felt if one choose to be at peace with themselves but Alderen's mind buzzed endlessly with thoughts, ideas, theories of what could have happened before he stepped out entering the hallway. Sensing a presence before him he shifted his focus completely as his once tense expression now seemed expressionless, a complete farce of what was going on within him.
Anger, fear, resentment, despair, loneliness... all those emotions where masked by the farce he had put one as he approached the individual that was a few paces ahead of him.
Hair so vibrant it almost seemed like a pool of coagulated blood resting quietly atop a small neck, her figure hidden within the thick confines of her white sleeping gown. Small slippers that slapped quietly against the cobbled ground. It was Sashah and she had not even noticed Alderen quietly approaching from behind, she too lost in her thoughts
"What are you doing here?!"
His voice cold and aloof, a stark difference of what was going one within him. Turning to face her interrupter, she saw a tall figure gazing coldly at her but what stood out to her were the bright amethyst eyes of glorious splendor that adorned their countenance. They were simply mesmerizing to simply look at as she gazed deep into those eyes of his but,
Anger
Being stared down that way brought about a flash of anger as she spoke growling, her voice sharpened by that short flame of anger that had begun to burn within herself. Having long lost the feeling of being mesmerized she stared down angrily as she spoke,
"Bastard, what are you looking at?"
Cussing out the tall Alderen, Sashah felt a short relief as she saw the cool facade crack as it darkened slightly. His pride a bit wounded, Alderen spoke this time not coolly or aloof.
"Short pigeon, be aware of your callous words lest they bring about the trumpets of war towards your short, insignificant life."
Unbearable arrogance coated his deep husky voice as he gazed downwards facing the person he had just insulted.
...
"Okay bastard, I'm gonna make you eat your nonsense"
Her expression was flushed with anger as Alderen had managed to make another enemy. His unbearable pride and the arrogance that found its way whenever he spoke made him an almost unlikeable character every time he spoke to other people in that manner.
Flashing a small grin, Alderen spoke,
"Insignificance, what or even who are you to make me eat my words? What manner of unbearable pride do you have to speak such utter nonsense? Has your short height prevented you from seeing the truth?"
Insult after insult after insult.
'This bastard really wants to join my army that bad huh?! Okay, I'll grant his wish and murder the bastard before anybody sees or notices anything.'
That flash of anger turned into a raging hate as not only had Alderen disregarded her presence, he even dared to mock Sashah in the middle of the night when she was most unstable. Sensing a shift in the atmosphere, the small grin that had adorned Alderen's handsome face turned into a mocking smile as the light of the bright moonlight turned a shader darker around the two individuals.
The occasional cool breeze that had swept gently across the sprawling flower gardens that rested ahead of the dorms, stopped moving as the world was drowned in silence. Countless resplendent stars hidden by the brightness of the moon, they to watching from on high,
"Do you think its fine watching the students want to kill each other?"
Hersneva spoke his tone sounding a bit tense as he turned towards his left.
"What, you want to go save them during the outdoor expedition sorry for not knowing that."
Sarcastic and rude did the high pitched male voice speak, donning a red cape and spectacles did the young man speak. With a soft sigh of exhaustion, Hersneva turned to face the two students who were engaged in a heated argument. One short the other tall, one's face red with anger the other with a cold and arrogant smile
'Not yet, I can't kill the bastard yet, the tournament starts tomorrow so I can't kill him yet, I can't kill him yet...'
The thought repeating like a broken record as Sashah gazed downwards in agonizing fury but Alderen seeing this, decided to add more fuel to the already raging inferno of hate, his eyes glinting with unhinged pride and arrogance as he opened his vile mouth to speak.
"Small and pitiful like the person you are. Truly you liquidators are all the same all killing no purpose."
Slash
A crimson katana flashed almost severing Alderen's lower jaw as he fell backwards performing a backflip purposefully increasing the distance between himself and Sashah.
"Tsk"
An annoyed sound resounded as Sashah turned and began walking back towards the ladies dorms, the crimson katana disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. As she walked back, one could almost taste the iron smell of blood but that sudden stench was carried away by the cool night breeze that blew across the school.
"You're lucky but next time you won't be so lucky..."
Sashah spoke as she walked past the expressionless Alderen, her slippers slapping against the cobbled pathway that led to the stairs leading towards the ladies dorms.
Letting her walk by Alderen also walked towards the gardens, his expression solemn as his once cocky demeanor lay hidden within him
"Good thing they stopped before it got out of hand right?"
Hersneva spoke as a visible loosening of his once tense shoulders showed how he was now able to relax albeit slightly but the person he had spoken to answered not as they turned away, effectively ignoring Hersneva. Knowing of this Hersenva couldn't help but inwardly groan at the partner he had been set-up with.
