Chapter 12 - ch 12

**The Monster You Made**

**Chapter 12: Test of Color**

**Stiles**

The courtyard had gone deathly quiet after the light from our mate bond faded. I remained on the ground with my three mates still wrapped around me—Hope's hands on my face, Freya's magic threaded through my ribs, Hayley's claws anchored in my shoulders. The public display should have embarrassed the old human part of me. The monster I had become didn't care. Let them watch. Let Klaus see exactly what the triple bond could do.

The guilt was still there, sharp as broken glass. *You see, I slaughtered my entire family. I looked at their bodies and saw only weakness. You see, I woke up one day and the switch was gone.* The flashback tried to drag me under again, but the colored threads refused to let it win. Gold, crimson, midnight blue—they pulsed stronger after the public reclamation. The Hollow had retreated, sulking in its cage.

I rose slowly, bringing all three women with me. My voice came out rough, no longer the empty monotone from Chapter One. "You wanted a test, Klaus? You just got one. The Hollow tried to flip the switch back off in front of you. They dragged me back. In public. On the ground. Because the mate bond is stronger than your threats."

Klaus's eyes burned with hybrid fury. "Then prove it. All of you. Tonight. In the ballroom. No closed doors. No private wards. If this 'gift' is real, show the entire family how you keep an immortal murderer from becoming a slaughterhouse again. Or I remove you from New Orleans permanently."

Elijah looked uneasy. Kol actually smirked. I felt my mates' threads flare with protective rage.

I smiled with too many teeth. "We'll show you. But if any of you try to separate us, I stop playing nice. Nothing can kill me. I've already murdered everyone I once loved. Don't make me add your names to the list."

The guilt twisted harder at those words, but the bond flooded me with love so fierce it nearly brought me to my knees again.

**Hope**

Dad had thrown down a gauntlet and I wanted to set him on fire for it. The gold thread between me and Stiles vibrated with his fresh wave of remorse. He was reliving the slaughter again through the bond—every throat torn, every body left empty. I pushed comfort and heat back at him, reminding him we had chosen this. We had loved him even when he stood in this exact courtyard and confessed to killing his pack without remorse.

"We accept," I said before anyone could speak. My voice carried hybrid authority. "Tonight. The whole family watches. But understand this: the triple bond is sacred. What you see won't be polite. It will be raw. Blood. Magic. Teeth. Bodies. Because that's what it took to bring him back and that's what it takes to keep him here."

I felt Freya's midnight blue approval and Hayley's crimson wildfire through our shared connection. Stiles' hand found the small of my back. The touch sent fresh hunger spiraling. Even after the courtyard scene, the bond demanded more. It always would.

**Freya**

I kept my magic wrapped around the Hollow like a midnight blue leash. Klaus's demand was cruel but predictable. He needed to see the bond's power with his own eyes before he could accept it. Through the threads I felt Stiles' guilt trying to fracture him again. The memories were getting louder. *You see, I'm going crazy. You see, time is shattered.* I sent a pulse of ancient calm and raw desire down my strand, letting him taste what waited for him tonight.

"The bond grows stronger under observation," I told my brothers flatly. "Stress makes the colors brighter. If you want proof, you will receive it. But do not interfere. Three mates for one fractured soul is rare because it takes this level of power and pain to sustain it. He consumed the Hollow. He slaughtered his own blood without feeling anything. We gave him back the ability to feel—and we will keep doing it in front of you if that is what you require."

Hayley's low growl vibrated through all of us. I felt her wolf pushing for violence and claiming at the same time. Tonight would be intense. The bond would demand we take Stiles hard enough for the entire room to understand he belonged to us.

**Hayley**

My wolf was done with diplomacy. Crimson thread burned so hot my eyes stayed gold even after we left the courtyard. Klaus wanted a show? Fine. We would give him one he'd never forget. I could feel Stiles' guilt gnawing at him through the bond—the endless loop of his family's deaths playing on repeat. It fed the Hollow. Only we could starve it.

Once the bedroom door shut behind us, I shoved Stiles against the wall and ripped his shirt open again. "We have hours until the 'test.' Use them. The guilt is loud. Drown it in us."

Hope and Freya closed in without hesitation. Clothes vanished. Mouths and hands and magic took over. I rode him first, claws raking down his chest while Hope kissed him like she could pull the gray out through his lips. Freya's spells wove through all of us, amplifying every sensation until the mate bond glowed so brightly the room looked painted in gold, crimson, and midnight blue.

Stiles' hands gripped us like we were the only real things left. "You see… I killed them all. No remorse. Now every time I close my eyes I see their faces and it *burns*. Don't let me slip. Please."

We didn't. We took him apart and rebuilt him twice before the sun went down—blood exchanged, bodies joined in every combination, the Hollow beaten back by sheer force of love and lust. When we finally dressed for the ballroom, the threads between us were thicker than ever.

**Stiles**

The ballroom was packed with every supernatural ally the Mikaelsons had in New Orleans. Klaus sat on his throne-like chair, Elijah and Kol flanking him. All eyes turned to us as we entered—four bodies moving as one, colored light faintly visible where our mate bond connected.

The guilt still chewed at me. The memories still screamed. But every time they rose, one of my mates would brush against me and the bond would flare, pushing the gray back.

I stopped in the center of the room and looked directly at Klaus.

"You wanted a test? Watch closely."

I pulled Hope to me and kissed her brutally. Freya's magic crackled around us. Hayley's wolf growled loud enough for the whole room to hear. The threads ignited into visible ropes of light. The Hollow stirred but could not break free.

Let them watch. Let them see what a monster with three mates looked like when he was finally loved enough to stay human.

The real test was only beginning.
