Chapter 1 - A New World

Prologue

Rain.

Heavy.

Relentless.

The kind that drowns out every sound… except one.

Sirens.

Red lights cut through the darkness.

The smell of blood filled the air.

Bodies lay scattered across the ground.

Big men.

Dangerous men.

Now… motionless.

And in the middle of them—

A boy.

Standing still.

Slow breathing.

Clothes stained.

Empty eyes.

Footsteps.

Many of them.

Guns aimed.

"STOP!"

"DON'T MOVE!"

"DROP IT!"

But he wasn't holding anything.

No weapon.

No knife.

Nothing.

Even so…

no one dared to get closer.

A police officer swallowed hard.

"Was it… you?"

Silence.

The boy slowly raised his gaze.

No fear.

No guilt.

No emotion.

One of the officers whispered,

"That's impossible…"

"He's just a kid…"

Another answered, barely able to speak,

"No…"

"He's not 'just a kid'…"

A pause.

Eyes locked on him.

"Look carefully…"

"That look…"

Heavy silence.

Then someone spoke—

Low.

But enough to freeze everyone there.

"He's that man's son…"

The air turned cold.

No one lowered their weapon.

Because they all knew…

what that meant.

The boy looked around.

Bodies.

Blood.

Silence.

Then—

He closed his eyes.

For just a second.

A memory.

A voice.

"You will never escape who you are."

His eyes opened again.

Colder.

Emptier.

At that moment…

without anyone noticing…

something inside him…

stopped.

And something worse…

was born.

That day… the world didn't lose a boy.

It gained a monster.

Two Years Later

A woman held her phone tightly.

"Hey… did you arrive?"

Silence for a moment.

"Yeah."

She let out a breath.

"Good. I'm on my way to the airport. Stay there."

Call ended.

South Korea — 10:00 PM

The car stopped in front of the airport.

Bright lights. Endless movement. People everywhere.

She stepped out quickly.

Eyes searching.

Until—

She found him.

Standing in the middle of the crowd.

Alone.

Even surrounded by people… distant from everything.

"Gu!!"

She waved.

Some people turned.

He looked at her.

The same eyes.

Cold.

She ran to him and hugged him from behind.

"You've gotten so big! It's been so long!"

Gu Gun stiffened.

"…That's enough."

He pulled away.

"You don't need to grab me like that."

She laughed.

"Still cold, huh?"

He adjusted his clothes.

"Nothing's changed."

She crossed her arms, looking at him.

"It has."

A pause.

"You're colder."

Silence.

He looked away.

"Let's go."

On the Way

The city was alive.

Tall buildings. Lights everywhere.

He stared out the window.

Expressionless.

"Welcome to South Korea," she said softly.

"It's not like Brazil, so pay attention."

No response.

But he was listening.

"First… respect is everything here."

"You don't talk casually to just anyone. Especially elders."

"And don't stare at people like that."

He slowly turned.

"Like what?"

She mimicked his gaze.

Cold. Intimidating.

"That look will get you into trouble."

Silence.

"Doesn't matter."

She sighed.

"No, it does. Things are different here."

A pause.

"School… is even worse."

He finally spoke.

"Gangs?"

She froze for a second.

"…Yeah."

He looked back outside.

"I see."

She noticed.

"Hey."

Silence.

"You're not in that place anymore."

"This is your chance to start over."

No answer.

The city reflected in his eyes.

"Try… at least try to live normally."

A few seconds.

"I don't know how."

Silence.

Arrival

The car entered a luxury building.

Quiet. Clean. Expensive.

Nothing like his past.

He stepped out.

Looked around.

"Welcome to your new life," she smiled.

He ignored it.

And walked to the elevator.

Elevator

They stepped inside.

She pressed the button.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you—you're going to like it here."

Silence.

"Your uncle owns a digital bank, BTM. He's busy, but he's a good man."

"And your cousins—"

DING.

The door opened.

A woman stood there with shopping bags.

Beside her… a girl.

They stepped in.

"Friend?!"

His aunt's eyes widened.

"No way!"

The woman laughed.

"You again?!"

They hugged.

"Meeting in the elevator, seriously?"

"Brazilians always find each other," the woman

smiled.

"Tell me about it!"

Gu Gun stood in the corner.

Silent.

Ignoring everything.

"This is my nephew," his aunt said. "He just arrived from Brazil."

The woman looked at him.

"Really? Nice to meet you."

No response.

"He's a bit… closed off," his aunt laughed awkwardly.

"I can see that," the woman said calmly.

Then she pointed.

"This is my daughter… Letícia."

Silence.

Gu Gun looked.

For a second.

Then looked away.

But Letícia…

froze.

Something felt wrong.

Like a memory that didn't exist.

Her heart raced.

"…What…?"

Why…

did he feel so familiar?

"Letícia?" her mother called.

She blinked.

"Ah… hi."

But kept glancing at him.

Trying to understand.

He didn't care.

He just wanted to leave.

Home

"HE'S HERE?!" a voice shouted.

A girl ran in.

Full of energy.

"IS THAT HIM?!"

She looked at him.

"Wow… he's actually handsome!"

"I'm your cousin! Call me Lia!"

She extended her hand.

He didn't shake it.

"Wow… rude," she laughed.

"Lia, stop scaring him," his aunt said.

A boy approached.

Calm.

Composed.

"You must be Gu Gun."

"I'm Ji-hoon."

A nod.

Respect.

Then—

Heels.

Slow steps.

A woman appeared.

Elegant.

Cold.

"So this is the Brazilian cousin…"

She looked him up and down.

"Hm."

"I expected more."

Silence.

"I'm Seo-yeon. Don't touch my things."

She walked away.

"Ignore her," Lia said. "She thinks she's royalty."

Later

"Where are you going?" his aunt asked.

"To buy cigarettes."

"Don't smoke. It causes cancer."

He looked at her wine.

"And alcohol?"

Pause.

"Damages the liver."

She smirked.

"And how are you paying?"

Silence.

"Different currency here."

She handed him money.

"Don't overdo it."

He left.

Meanwhile

"Letícia, we forgot the gochujang sauce."

"…I'll go get it."

Street

Two men on a motorcycle watched.

"Told you. Rich area."

"Easy targets."

"That girl… alone."

"Let's go."

Attack

"HEY—!"

Her bag was snatched.

"HELP!"

Gu Gun stopped.

Looked.

Ran.

BAM!

He crashed into them.

The bike fell.

Fight.

Fast.

Brutal.

Done.

He grabbed the bag.

Walked to her.

Gave it back.

No words.

Lit a cigarette.

And walked away.

"…Is he crazy?"

Pause.

"…but…"

"…kind."

Final

Smoke rose.

Cold eyes.

As if nothing happened.

But behind him…

something had started.

Not words.

Not logic.

Just…

destiny.
