Chapter 3 - Return of the intruder

Rain clouds hung low above Patna.

While Manasvi drove toward the crime scene, something even worse was happening at the Patna Research Institute of Science.

Police vehicles blocked the entrance.

Flashing red lights reflected off the wet pavement.

Officers from the Patna Police were guarding the building while forensic teams continued investigating Dr. Vedant's office.

The atmosphere was tense.

Everyone knew the case was strange.

No fingerprints.

No witnesses.

And a killing method no one could explain.

Then a man appeared at the institute gate.

A man dressed completely in black.

His calm walk looked completely out of place in the middle of a crime investigation.

One police officer stepped forward.

"Stop right there," he said firmly.

"There's an investigation going on. Civilians can't enter."

The man in black tilted his head slightly.

"Oh?"

His voice was calm.

"What happened here, officer?"

The policeman frowned.

"That's none of your concern. There's been a murder and robbery."

He pointed away from the gate.

"You should leave."

For a moment, the man in black simply stared at him.

Then—

Without warning—

BAM.

He kicked the officer.

The policeman flew through the air like a ragdoll and crashed into a parked police car.

The impact created a deep dent in the metal door.

Silence lasted only a second.

Then chaos erupted.

"GUNS OUT!"

More than a dozen officers quickly pulled their pistols and aimed.

"DROP TO THE GROUND!"

But the man in black didn't move.

He only raised one hand slightly.

And something impossible happened.

The metal pistols in the officers' hands twisted.

The barrels bent.

The frames collapsed.

Within seconds every gun had been crushed into small metal balls, as if squeezed by an invisible force.

The officers stared in horror.

"What the—"

Before the sentence finished—

The man in black vanished.

Or rather…

He moved so fast it looked like he vanished.

Suddenly he stood behind them.

One officer barely had time to turn his head.

A hand grabbed his skull.

CRACK.

The man collapsed instantly.

The remaining officers panicked.

"RUN—!"

But it was too late.

The man in black slowly raised his hand again.

All around the institute parking lot…

Police cars.

Motorcycles.

Vans.

Every vehicle began to shake.

Then they rose into the air.

Dozens of machines floated above the ground.

The officers stared upward in disbelief.

The man in black flicked his fingers.

The vehicles shot forward like missiles.

Metal smashed into metal.

Cars collided violently.

Fuel tanks ruptured.

And within seconds—

BOOM.

Explosions tore through the parking area.

Fire lit up the rain-filled night.

Smoke rose above the institute as the destruction spread.

The man in black stood calmly in the middle of the chaos.

Flames reflected in his dark eyes.

His voice was quiet.

"Pathetic."

Far away on the highway…

Manasvi's phone buzzed with an emergency alert from the investigation department.

Something terrible had just happened at the institute.

And she was driving straight toward it.

Unaware that she was about to meet the man who had just turned a police investigation into a battlefield.
