Chapter 90: Poor Shiro, Foolish Info Brain
Ever since Ariel had met Shiro, she had never seen her lose her temper, let alone throw a subtle tantrum.
"Forget it, I'll go upstairs and check on her." Ariel set down her utensils and hurriedly rushed up to the second floor.
Seeing this, Shirazawa shook his head helplessly. *Could a goddess actually be dealing with that time of the month? That makes no sense...* Unable to make heads or tails of the situation, the only thing his dense brain could come up with was that Shiro was suffering from a sudden mood swing.
Sitting nearby, the naturally introverted and perpetually silent Sael tilted her head, staring intently at Shirazawa as if she wanted to say something. However, given her extremely limited communication skills, she could only manifest her other four arms–bringing her total to six–and extend her thumbs and pinkies simultaneously, making repeated telephone gestures at him.
Shirazawa stared blankly at her display. "What..?" *Six arms, six telephone signs. Yep, makes perfectly no sense.*
Sael: `(▼ヘ▼#)`
An overwhelming wave of exasperation washed over Sael. Ultimately, she decided to leave him to his fate. *A hand gesture this obvious, even an absolute idiot should have guessed it!*
But Shirazawa's train of thought was fundamentally flawed. He held a deep-seated assumption that Shiro and D were essentially two halves of the same coin, sharing a unified mind and existence. Even if Shiro had somehow overheard his late-night call, why on earth would she get jealous over her own creator? This preconception completely blinded him to the reality of the situation.
---
Ariel pushed the guest room door open, finding Shiro standing quietly by the window, gazing blankly into the distance. She walked over and followed Shiro's line of sight but couldn't discern anything out of the ordinary.
Unable to hold back her worry, Ariel spoke up gently, "Shiro, what's wrong?"
Hearing her voice, Shiro slowly turned her head, offering Ariel a profound, lingering gaze before her lips curled into a faint smile. She shook her head, signaling that nothing was amiss.
Perhaps due to her soul merging with the traits of the former Body Brain, Ariel could vividly sense the crushing sorrow radiating deep from within Shiro's heart right now.
"Did Aze do something to hurt you?"
Shiro shook her head again, maintaining her silence. Looking at her in this fragile state broke Ariel's heart. She reached out, grasping Shiro's cold, delicate hands.
"That bastard must have played with your feelings and abandoned you! I'm going to go beat some sense into him!"
Shiro froze. *Are you a literal mind reader? I haven't uttered a single syllable, how did you pinpoint it so perfectly?*
She slowly opened her strikingly beautiful eyes to look at Ariel. Her lowered eyelashes veiled the turbulent emotions swirling within her pink, *tomoe*-infused pupils—eyes filled with an intense psychological struggle. After a long pause, she let out a soft, fragile sigh, murmuring, "I'm fine."
Her gentle tone, like a warm spring breeze, instantly allowed Ariel to breathe a sigh of relief. No matter how much Shiro changed, in her heart, this girl would always be a precious little kitten that required absolute protection.
"Are you... facing an insurmountable obstacle?" Ariel looked at her with deep concern. "You can talk to me. Even if I might not possess the power to solve it, I will give you everything I have."
Shiro bit her lower lip, hesitant to speak. Her true adversary was an absolute cosmic anomaly–a towering mountain that suffocated her very soul. As powerful as Ariel was, she remained utterly minuscule and helpless in the face of D.
"Let's set out."
After an agonizing internal debate, Shiro chose to say no more. *That makes six words already today. Too many.* She turned and walked out the door, ultimately deciding to shoulder the crushing burden entirely on her own.
Ariel stared intently at Shiro's departing back, an unyielding determination flaring in her eyes. "I will help you." With that vow, she quickly caught up.
---
Under a dim, cozy light, a young girl was happily sipping cola and munching on potato chips, watching the unfolding drama on her monitors with immense amusement.
Standing right beside her was a maid equipped with fluffy cat ears, holding a platter filled with a massive assortment of snacks, eagerly catering to the girl's whims.
"Poor little Shiro, foolish Info Brain, wicked, scheming bitch..." the little maid grumbled in a flurry of continuous, frustrated whispers. Terrified of being overheard by the wicked woman, he could only vent her frustrations under her breath.
*SMACK!*
"Ngh~!"
The little maid immediately clutched his backside, his eyes welling up with tears as a brilliant blush crept across her face. She looked up with a thoroughly aggrieved, resentful gaze, silently protesting the sheer tyranny of the wicked woman.
The young girl let out a cold snort, her expression overflowing with immense pride. "A relationship that cannot withstand a simple test is like a falling mirror–it is destined to shatter sooner or later. I am merely liberating them from a lifetime of relationship misery before it even begins, understand?"
The little maid was entirely dumbfounded by this convoluted logic. *If you want to steal a man for yourself, just say so! Trying to mask it behind such a grand, righteous facade... do you honestly view yourself as a savior?!*
*SMACK!*
"Ngh~!"
"I can hear exactly what you are thinking, you know~" The young girl arched an eyebrow, offering a wickedly enchanting smile.
"...QAQ"
The little maid silently swore a blood oath that if he ever found a window of opportunity, he would stomp this woman beneath his heels without an ounce of mercy!
*SMACK!*
"Ngh~!"
"I already told you I can hear you. Why do you never learn?"
"..."
*SMACK!*
"Hey! I didn't even think anything this time! Why did you strike me?!"
*SMACK!*
The little maid rubbed his backside, glaring at her with a mixture of resentment and fury, silently condemning the girl for entirely abandoning the rules of engagement. Yet, the young girl didn't display a shred of remorse, continuing her rhythmic assault with a posture that suggested she wouldn't stop until her hands grew tired.
"Waaah! Master... I was wrong!" Seeing that his physical safety was in imminent jeopardy, the maid finally capitulated.
"Good boy~" The young girl gently patted his fluffy, furry head, before her playful smile vanished, replaced by an intensely serious warning. "I'll let it slide this once. But if you dare display such insolence again, a simple spanking will be the absolute least of your worries."
The little maid pouted, tears pooling in his eyes as he whimpered, "I... I understand..."
"Mm." The young girl nodded in deep satisfaction, pleased with her domestic training results.
*SMACK!*
"You–You–You–!"
"Ah, my bad. Force of habit, hehe."
"Waaaah..."

The caravan set out once again.
Their next objective was to traverse the entire length of the Renxandt Empire to reach its outer borders. That territory was the primary battleground of the ongoing Human-Demon War–a zone fraught with catastrophic perils. However, as long as they managed to break through the border, the Demon Territory awaited them on the other side, which was their ultimate sanctuary.
Inside the jolting carriage, the atmosphere felt incredibly heavy.
True to form, Shiro kept her eyes tightly closed, muttering nothing as she endured the agonizing torment of motion sickness, stomach cramps, and near-fainting spells. Directly across from her, Shirazawa was in an identical predicament; his face was a ghostly shade of green, sweat beaded across his forehead, and his breathing was erratic, clearly pushing the absolute limits of human endurance.
While the duo appeared outwardly unchanged from their usual traveling state, Sophia, who was tasked with caring for them, couldn't shake an unsettling feeling that something was deeply amiss. But what was it?
Ah! Right! In the past, whenever the motion sickness became too unbearable, Shiro would instinctively lean over and sink her teeth into Shirazawa's arm to ground herself. Why wasn't she doing that today?
Staring at the snow-white girl curled tightly into the furthest corner of the carriage, Sophia's mental CPU began spinning at hyper-speed. Yet, even after running her processor hot for hours, she couldn't deduce a logical answer, forcing her to abandon the thought entirely.
Following several more grueling days of long-distance travel, the group finally arrived at the next border town. This bizarre gathering of lolis, young girls, and an infant immediately drew the suspicious gazes of local adventurers.
Naturally, intelligence regarding their arrival reached Dustin's ears shortly after. After a moment of profound contemplation, the Pontiff issued a absolute warning to all sectors of the Divine Word Religion and the local Adventurers' Guild: *If you cross paths with these esteemed guests, clear the path immediately. Fail to comply, and face the absolute annihilation of your forces.*
Having just survived a near-apocalyptic war against the ancient weapons, Dustin had absolutely no desire to trigger a global conflict right now. Mankind desperately required a window to recuperate. Therefore, when encountering the Demon Lord, keeping a massive distance was the safest strategic play.
It was entirely thanks to Dustin's strict warnings that Ariel's group enjoyed a relatively peaceful journey through human civilization. However, the total absence of Potimas's assassin squads left them feeling incredibly unnerved. They couldn't help but suspect the old elf was secretly engineering a catastrophic trap. Left with no other choice, the group could do nothing but redouble their defensive vigilance.
Late that night.
Clad in a fresh set of clean sleepwear, Shirazawa slowly drifted back into consciousness. Out of sheer habit, he reached out to pat the spot beside his pillow, but the empty sensation immediately caused him to frown. He flung the cotton duvet aside, only to find the bedsheets perfectly smooth without a single crease.
This could only mean one thing: Ariel had intentionally checked him and Shiro into two separate rooms.
"Splitting us into two separate rooms? What an absolute waste of funds!" Shirazawa muttered under his breath. "Even if we're wealthy, we shouldn't be burning cash like this. Don't you agree, Sophia?"
"Hmm? Sophia?"

LanLi: In the raw the body or ither parallels minds are referred as it or mind or whatever but once D captured the clone and transformed it into a maid, the raw text avoids the use of direct "he" or "she" by using titles like (little spider) or (little maid). However, the author heavily codes the descriptions with explicitly feminine grammar, reactions, and dialogue indicators. Specifically the text uses (Ying~) and (Waaah), which are specific onomatopoeias in Chinese internet culture used exclusively for anime girls or lolis crying/acting cute.
So I am confused wether body brain is being domesticated/sissified by Mommy D or not and wether to call it, he or she. Nevertheless yuri is hot.
LanLi: Old note. It's 'she'.
