Chapter 138: Nine Million Six Hundred Thousand Evil Eyes—Can You Block Them?
As Shirazawa and Shiro finished their preparations, massive pillars of light suddenly pierced through the dim sky. The beams intersected, forming intricate, mysterious patterns across the heavens. The angel army descended from the void in a grand, imposing procession, every single face solemn.
"Why stopped running?" Zeus stood suspended in mid-air, arms crossed with an air of noble elegance. His voice dripped with disdain, completely looking down on them.
Shirazawa looked up at the angels swarming the sky, his eyes steady. "Arrogant bird-men." He let out a cold laugh and spread his arms, embracing the empty space around him. "Come out, my children! It's dinner time!"
The void behind him warped violently, and thousands of spatial gates slowly ground open. Countless crimson eyes blinked awake inside the darkness before the creatures began crawling out, spreading across the landscape in dense clusters. They wore pristine white carapaces that gleamed like crystal under the glow of the lava. Their massive jaws parted to reveal razor-sharp, freezing mandibles—a truly terrifying sight.
At the same time, an endless army of white spiders swarmed out from behind Shiro. These were the clones of the Parallel Minds from the labyrinth, the remnants of the Nightmare, and every single one possessed an independent consciousness. Unlike the clones they created through divine power after their ascension, these creatures could grow freely and held incredible potential.
With each of them commanding an army of six hundred thousand, their combined forces reached a staggering 1.2 million.
The initially aggressive angel army of seven hundred thousand was instantly shaken. They stared with wide eyes, completely losing their composure. Unfortunately, the higher-tier combatants among this white horde were few and far between; they were mostly good for a scare. If a real battle broke out, the angel army would definitely hold the upper hand.
But every rule has an exception. Shirazawa hadn't summoned them just to die. He had a bold plan.
Shiro caught his gaze and nodded silently. The next moment, they joined forces to direct the entire spider army, tilting their heads up toward the heavens.
Zeus's eyelids twitched as a sudden, ominous premonition washed over him. "What are these insects trying to do?"
The Seraphs flanking him looked at one another, none of them knowing how to answer. Seeing this, Sariel and Mael realized these enemies were no pushovers. They quietly took two steps back, letting Zeus bear the brunt of the front line.
"Bluffing. What can a bunch of mere spiders possibly do to me?" To keep his troops steady, Zeus intentionally maintained a fierce, unyielding posture.
"Try us and find out," Shirazawa replied casually, shifting into a combat stance.
Shiro opened her closed eyes, her vibrant pink pupils glowing with an eerie light. The four-emblem Evil Eyes returned to the world, strange and terrifying.
"Evil Eye Series—Fully Unleashed!"
A sharp hum resonated as a crimson glare erupted from their eyes. In perfect unison, the white army lit up all eight of their compound eyes. To be precise, nine million six hundred thousand eyes ignited simultaneously in that very moment.
It was a magnificent yet horrifying spectacle. Countless eyes lit up at once, looking like billions of falling meteors. A destructive force was born from that glow—a ruinous power capable of shattering the earth and tilting the sun and moon.
"Defend!" Metatron shouted frantically. "Activate the defense barriers immediately! Quick, quick, quick! Protect Lord Zeus!"
A thick blanket of white light enveloped the angels. But it was too late. The first wave of the Evil Eyes had already hit.
"Weep, lonely souls that burden the earth! Curse that spreads plague beneath the light! Shatter the skies—Cursed Evil Eye!" Shirazawa's voice was freezing and ruthless.
In an instant, the beams from countless Evil Eyes intersected, and the resulting energy fluctuation rippled outward. The silent Cursed Evil Eyes washed over the celestial vanguard, dimming their holy light as darkness seeped through every gap.
"Damn it, this is the power of the Abyssal Curse!" Zeus unfurled his glowing wings, releasing an eternal holy radiance in an attempt to purify the corruption. But an invisible force clamped down on his frame, rendering him unable to move an inch. "How is this possible!"
He looked down in disbelief, meeting two pairs of striking eyes. Twenty Evil Eyes were glowing in unison, and this time, it was the Inert Evil Eye, freezing everything in its tracks.
"A mere Lower God thinks they can match me? Delusional!" Zeus roared, silver lightning crackling around him before erupting into a roaring torrent. "Shatter the darkness with thunder!"
The lightning rattled the surrounding space, instantly dispelling the sealing force.
"Hahaha! Foolish insects, your end is here!" Zeus laughed arrogantly, regaining his pride as a Divine King.
Unfortunately, the war was just beginning, not ending.
"Halt! Desolation that rests in the freezing cold—Inert!"
"Unravel all things in this world—Anti Magic!"
"Freeze and stand still, wither and lock away—Sealing!"
The three Evil Eye variants were unleashed simultaneously. In an instant, the holy light in the sky shattered. Everything affected by the Antimagic Evil Eye dissolved, and even Zeus's lightning power fell into a brief stall. Taking advantage of this window, the Sealing Evil Eye quieted the battlefield, locking down the movement skills of every single angel.
The traps were perfectly linked; only the final harvest remained. Shiro and Shirazawa looked at each other, faint smiles gracing their lips.
"Warped Evil Eye, Almighty Space Warp (Shinra Kokai)!"
Nine million six hundred thousand Evil Eyes fired at the exact same frequency, unleashing a terrifying spatial distortion. A massive black hole erupted right in the center of the angel army.
The black hole seemed to come alive, spinning violently and swallowing everything in its vicinity. The sky darkened as heavy black clouds rolled in, burying the landscape under a suffocating weight. An indescribable agony tore through every angel. In that moment, they forgot to breathe, forgot their fear, and were left with nothing but endless regret.
*That idiot Zeus, why did he have to provoke such monsters?! This isn't a Lower God—this thing is more terrifying than Anubis himself!*
The heavenly formation collapsed. Countless angels wailed and screamed as they were pulled into the black hole, vanishing without a trace.
Zeus's eyes looked ready to burst from their sockets as he roared in helpless fury. "Ah... my army! You dare kill them!" He screamed hysterically, but it changed nothing.
Only the three Seraphs remained in the void, desperately resisting the horrific gravitational pull. Under the combined effects of the curse, magic disruption, and sealing, their strength had plummeted to absolute rock bottom. This was the raw power of nearly ten million Evil Eyes firing at once, spiked with twenty high-tier eyes from Shirazawa and Shiro. It wasn't something easily broken.
"Rations successfully collected. Children, go back and eat!"
The white army let out a resounding cry toward the heavens, celebrating their victory. Then, they vanished from the battlefield along with the black hole.
The center of the black hole connected straight to the couple's pocket dimension; there was no way they would let such a massive haul of flesh go to waste. The angel army had effectively become fertilizer for the spider horde. They were quite eager to see just how much the little spiders would evolve after devouring an entire heavenly legion.
It would be amazing if they birthed a brand-new species. Spiders with wings? The thought alone was something to look forward to.
