The two of them headed to the guild house to report to the guild master about what happened.
James and Elissa arrived at the guild house at night, there were no adventurers around. The receptionist who handles quests was cleaning the guild house when they entered.
Elissa greeted Emilou the receptionist and asked where the guild master is. Emilou pointed at the last door on the second floor.
James and Elissa thanked her "Thank you Emilou, We have something to report to him"
They got to the second floor and walked through the last door on the right, as they got closer and closer to the door, the aura of ether suddenly got heavier.
Elissa spoke to James "H-hey James! I-i think I'll die if I get closer to that door, Can you continue on your own?"
James who also felt the sudden change of ether aroud them replied "Y-yeah, Just wait here. I'll talk to him"
Elissa thanked him and went back to the first floor.
James reached the doorknob, his hands trembling from the sheer aura of the person inside that room.
James spoke to himself "T-this aura! I-it feels like my bones are frozen stiff, A-alright I can do this! I just need to report and go out fast"
James opened the door and saw the center of the cold aura he felt, there sat a man whose age cannot be determined. A man that experienced many fights and wars.
The man's name was written on the name tag on his desk. [William Dumasticus] The man has a surname that resembles he is a noble.
William looked at James and said "James, What do you want?"
James responded "I-its about what we encountered earlier, A helmed beast seems to have jumped from outside the gate. I-i just want to report that it's very dangerous for normal civilians to be roaming near the gate"
William responded to James "I see, I'll talk to the manor about the situation. What about the helmed beast?"
James said "We took care of it, Elissa and i defeated it while saving a boy named Vyrel"
William's face changed when he heard the name of Vyrel "Vyrel? What was that boy doing near the gates?"
James grew curious and asked if he knew Vyrel "U-uhm, Sir? Do you perhaps know Vyrel?"
William only said "I knew his father, nothing else"
James stopped asking and finished his report "T-that would be all to report sir!"
William permitted James to go "you may go now"
James walked out of the room, and went to Elissa on the first floor next to the receptionist.
William who was thinking to himself back in his office "Vyrel, That guy's kid. No wonder he hid himself on this wasteland of a continent. He already had a child and a wife, And because of that family of his he died"
William sighs and lights a cigarette and leans on his chair.
James and Elissa went to the entrance gate to report about the incident, they talked to the guard for the whereabouts of the Knight's captain " Hey Brodi! Where's the captain?
Brodi is the guard that protects the entrance gate "Ah! James! Elissa! What are you doing here? Hm? The captain? I think he's on the third watchtower, He's probably checking the damages from the last helmed beast attack"
James replied "Oh that helmed hyena? I heard it was pretty tough, Anyways. Thanks we'll go there, We need something to report to him"
Brodi responded "Yeah alright! I'll see y'all again!"
James and Elissa waved goodbye to Brodi, and went to the third watchtower on the east side of the gate.
They arrived late at night to the watchtower, and they spotted the captain checking the damages of the battlefield.
James spoke to the captain "Hey, Captain Gerald!"
Captain Gerald looked at them "Oh! If it isn't the monster duo! James and Elissa what are the both of you doing here?"
James reported to the captain "There was a helmed beast that jumped over at the gate earlier, There were no casualties and no injuries. But there was a young boy who encountered it alone, But we managed to defeat it"
Gerald was shocked to hear that another helmed beast had been spotted inside the gate "Another one? Was it also a hyena variant?"
Elissa said "It wasn't, It was a cougar with the black helm"
Gerald looked troubled "I see, There has been many sights of helmed beasts outside the gate recently, I'm suspecting that a helmed monster is behind the frequent sightings of helmed beasts"

James was relieved to hear what the captain said "I see, It's for the best to avoid unnecessary encounters. Well, That was all we needed to inform you about, we will be heading out now!"
Gerald said farewell to them "Alright! Farewell!"
James and Elissa went to their inns nearby to the capital of the city.
Vyrel slept after he was done eating, he was exhausted after the encounter of the helmed beast. His mother Kaelis, didn't pry too much to him knowing he was tired.
Morning broke out and Vyrel woke up to the birds chirps, it seems that his helm automatically unequipped itself when he fell asleep. His ether recovered and the sores he felt gradually vanished.
These alien phenomena are the works of the helms, helms help the user recover fatigue, and ether after a certain amount of rest time.
He went to the bathroom to wash his face, and went to the kitchen where his mother already prepared his breakfast.

After he was done eating, he went back to his room to equip his helm. He looked in the mirror and muttered "Alright! I can do this, Just endure the pain and i'll be done"
He imagined the helm putting on his head, after imagining the helm being put on, he felt the mental pain corroding his brain.
"Argh! Th-this pain! AHH!"
He gritted his teeth enduring the pain, this time the mental overload was not as painful as the first time he put it on.
After five minutes of enduring mental pain, the pain gradually vanished.

When he checked what was inside he heard someone speaking inside.

The person who was speaking was covered in black coat and the person's boots have blood on them.
"Please! Help me! My comrades are attacked by many helmed beasts in the forest!! Please i'm begging you!!
The person speaking seems to be the voice of a woman.
"Hm? This voice. Wait... O-Olivia?"
The woman looked at Vyrel after he mentioned Olivia's name.
