Chapter 4: When Nobody Understands

There is a kind of pain that doesn't shout.

It doesn't break things.

It doesn't create scenes.

It doesn't demand attention.

It just sits quietly inside you…

while the world continues as if nothing is wrong.

---

Arjun had started to understand his thoughts.

He had begun questioning them.

He had even found small moments of control.

But there was one thing he still couldn't handle—

People.

---

Because dealing with your own mind is one battle…

But dealing with others while you're already struggling?

That's a different war.

---

The next few days brought something Arjun wasn't ready for.

Questions.

Endless questions.

---

"Why are you at home these days?"

"Office ka kya hua?"

"Kuch problem ho gayi kya?"

"Next plan kya hai?"

---

Simple questions.

Normal questions.

But each one felt like a knife.

---

At first, Arjun tried to answer politely.

"Just taking a break."

"Thinking about next step."

"Everything is fine."

---

But nothing was fine.

And pretending… was exhausting.

---

One afternoon, he stepped out to buy groceries.

A simple task.

Something normal.

Something he thought would distract him.

---

But the moment he reached the shop, he ran into an old acquaintance.

"Arjun! Long time, yaar!" the man said with a big smile.

Arjun forced a smile back.

"Yeah… long time."

"So, how's work going?"

There it was.

That question.

---

For a second, Arjun froze.

His mind raced.

What should he say?

Truth? Lie? Avoid?

---

"Actually… I left the job," he said finally.

The man's expression changed.

Not drastically.

Just slightly.

But enough for Arjun to notice.

---

"Oh… why?" he asked.

---

That "why" felt heavy.

Not curious.

Not supportive.

Just… uncomfortable.

---

"Just… things didn't work out," Arjun replied.

---

The man nodded slowly.

"Hmmm… okay. You'll find something. Don't worry."

---

It sounded like encouragement.

But it didn't feel like it.

---

Because sometimes, people don't understand your situation…

They just try to move past it quickly.

---

The conversation ended.

But the feeling stayed.

---

As Arjun walked back home, something inside him started to build.

Frustration.

---

"Why do I have to explain myself?"

"Why does everyone expect answers?"

"Why can't they just… understand?"

---

But then another thought came.

"Do they even know what I'm going through?"

---

And the answer was simple.

No.

---

Because Arjun hadn't told anyone.

Not really.

---

He had shared facts.

"I lost my job."

But he hadn't shared feelings.

"I feel lost, scared, broken."

---

And that's where the gap was.

---

People can't understand what you don't express.

---

But expressing it?

That's not easy.

---

That evening, his father called him to sit together.

"Beta, kya plan hai aage ka?" he asked calmly.

---

Arjun looked down.

"I'm trying… applying… dekhte hain."

---

His father nodded.

"Time waste mat karo. Competition bahut hai."

---

The words weren't wrong.

They were practical.

Realistic.

---

But they didn't feel right.

---

Because Arjun didn't need advice at that moment.

He needed understanding.

---

He went back to his room, feeling heavier than before.

---

"That's the problem," he thought.

"Nobody gets it."

---

And that belief started growing.

---

The more he interacted with people…

The more he felt misunderstood.

---

Friends would say:

"Chill bro, sab theek ho jayega."

---

Relatives would say:

"Humare time pe to aur mushkil tha."

---

Others would say:

"Try harder."

---

None of it helped.

---

Because pain isn't a problem to be solved quickly.

It's something that needs to be felt… and understood.

---

That night, Arjun sat quietly, thinking about everything.

---

"Maybe I'm alone in this."

---

That thought hurt.

Deeply.

---

Because feeling alone is worse than actually being alone.

---

But then…

Something shifted.

---

He remembered something his mother had said.

"Silence is pain you're not sharing."

---

And suddenly, it made sense.

---

Maybe people didn't understand…

Because he hadn't let them.

---

The next day, something unexpected happened.

---

His close friend, Ravi, came to meet him.

Without calling.

Without asking.

---

"Bhai, kya chal raha hai?" Ravi said, sitting casually on the chair.

---

Arjun shrugged.

"Nothing much."

---

Ravi looked at him carefully.

"Sach bol."

---

There was something different in his tone.

Not forceful.

Not judgmental.

Just… real.

---

For a moment, Arjun stayed silent.

---

And then, something broke.

---

"I'm not okay," he said.

---

The words felt heavy.

But also… relieving.

---

"I feel lost. I don't know what I'm doing. I feel like I've failed. I feel like everyone expects me to figure it out, but I can't."

---

He kept talking.

Without stopping.

Without filtering.

---

Everything he had been holding inside…

Came out.

---

Ravi didn't interrupt.

Didn't give advice.

Didn't try to fix anything.

---

He just listened.

---

And that made all the difference.

---

After a long pause, Ravi said quietly:

"Bhai… tu akela nahi hai."

---

Simple words.

But powerful.

---

Because for the first time…

Arjun felt understood.

---

Not judged.

Not rushed.

Not compared.

---

Just… understood.

---

And that changed something inside him.

---

He realized—

Not everyone will understand you.

And that's okay.

---

But some people will.

And they are enough.

---

You don't need the whole world to get you.

You just need a few real ones.

---

That night, Arjun wrote in his notebook:

"Not everyone will understand my journey."

"And that's okay."

---

"I don't need approval."

"I need honesty."

---

He paused.

Then added one more line:

"I need to be honest with myself… and with the right people."

---

Because pretending to be okay…

Only increases the distance between you and others.

---

And opening up?

It doesn't make you weak.

It makes you human.

---

Days later, Arjun started doing something different.

---

He stopped trying to explain himself to everyone.

---

Instead, he chose who to open up to.

---

With some people, he kept it simple.

"With others, he went deeper."

---

And slowly…

The feeling of being misunderstood started fading.

---

Not because everyone changed.

But because his expectations did.

---

He no longer needed validation from everyone.

---

He just needed connection with a few.

---

And most importantly…

He started understanding himself better.

---

Because sometimes, the problem is not that nobody understands you…

---

It's that you haven't fully understood yourself yet.

---

And once you do…

The noise of the world becomes quieter.

---

The pressure becomes lighter.

---

And the journey becomes clearer.

---

Arjun stood at his window again that night.

Looking outside.

Thinking.

---

Life was still uncertain.

Problems were still there.

---

But something had changed.

---

He no longer felt completely alone.

---

Because now, he knew—

Even if the world doesn't understand him…

He would learn to understand himself.

---

And that…

Was more powerful than anything else.

---

Because at the end of the day—

You don't rise because everyone supports you.

---

You rise because you choose to keep going…

Even when nobody truly understands.

---

And Arjun had made that choice.

---

Slowly.

Silently.

But surely.

---

He was still walking through the storm.

---

But now…

He wasn't invisible anymore.

---

At least not to himself.

---

And sometimes…

That's where the real strength begins.

---

Because being understood by others is good…

But understanding yourself?

---

That's unstoppable.

---

And Arjun was just beginning to realize that.

---

No matter what.Chapter 5: The Fear of Starting Over

Starting over sounds powerful.

Motivational quotes make it look heroic.

People say things like, "New beginnings are beautiful" or "Every ending is a new start."

But no one talks about the truth.

Starting over is terrifying.

---

Arjun stood at the edge of something unknown.

Not physically.

But mentally.

Emotionally.

He was no longer where he used to be…

But he wasn't anywhere new either.

---

That space in between—

That's where fear lives.

---

Days had passed since he began opening up.

Since he started understanding himself better.

Since he realized that not everyone needs to understand him.

---

But now, a new challenge had arrived.

A bigger one.

---

"No Matter .....
