A day had passed, and today was the long-awaited grand opening of the second Krusty Krab branch in Springfield.
Kevin stood proudly in front of the newly renovated restaurant, a large pair of scissors in his hand. A small crowd had gathered, including curious locals, food bloggers, and fans who had seen the advertisements over the past month. Colorful banners and the familiar clam logo with a pearl inside decorated the entrance.
With a smile, Kevin cut the ribbon. "Welcome to the new Krusty Krab!"
The crowd cheered as the doors opened. Inside, the restaurant was buzzing with energy. The cooks, supervised by Colette, were already hard at work preparing ingredients. Waitresses stood ready at their stations, and the new team looked excited but nervous.
Almost immediately, a long line formed outside. People had been waiting for this opening, drawn by the hype, samples from the main branch, and glowing reviews online.
The orders started pouring in.
"Two Krabby Patties with extra sauce!"
"One Teddy Pizza and a Bacon Pancake stack!"
"Pretty Patty combo, make it blue!"
The kitchen became a well-oiled machine. SpongeBob's energy kept morale high, while Colette's precision ensured quality never dropped. The new chefs worked efficiently under their guidance.
Among the customers was the Simpson family. Marge had practically dragged Homer through the door.
"Come on, Homer, hurry up!" Marge said softly, tugging lightly on his arm. "I know you usually eat at Krusty Burger almost every day, but I heard so many good things about this place. It's brand new, and everyone says the food is absolutely wonderful. I really think you'll love it."
Homer shrugged, adjusting his shirt. "Well… if you say so, Marge. But you know how it is—Krusty's burgers are just the best. I don't know if anything could beat that."
"We'll see," Marge replied with a warm smile. "Just give it a try, okay?"
They made their way to the cashier counter and looked over the bright, colorful menu boards hanging above. There were so many options, from classic dishes to new creations they had never seen before. After a few minutes of deciding, they placed their order, meals for each of them, with special options for Bart and Lisa.
Only a short while later, a waitress brought their food over to their table, setting down plates piled high with delicious-looking meals and tall glasses of cold drinks. The family looked at the food with interest, and Homer was the first to reach for his burger.
He took a big bite, and in that instant, his eyes went wide. A look of pure surprise and delight spread across his face as the rich, savory flavors exploded across his tongue.
"Whoa…" he mumbled around the food, chewing quickly. "Marge… this is… this is amazing!"
The rest of the family tried their meals too, and they were just as shocked by how good everything tasted. The quality and flavor were far better than anything they had expected. Homer especially enjoyed the brand-new special sauces the restaurant had introduced, thick, creamy, and packed with unique tastes that he found absolutely irresistible.
Bart, meanwhile, laughed excitedly as he took a bite of one dish that had a special colored patty. His skin turned a bright, vibrant violet, and he giggled, running his hands over his arms and face in wonder. "Check this out! I'm purple! This is awesome!"
Lisa smiled happily, taking a bite of her own meal. "This is incredible. The combination of sweet and savory in the bacon pancakes is perfect. I've never tasted anything like it."
Word spread quickly around the restaurant, and more and more people came in, drawn by the good reviews and the delicious food. By midday, the place was packed, and the team worked efficiently to keep up with the demand, serving happy customers who left with full stomachs and big smiles.
Hours passed quickly, and before anyone realized it, the clock struck ten in the evening. The last customer had left, and the lights were dimmed as the doors were locked and closed for the night.
Kevin gathered all the staff together in the empty dining area, clapping his hands to get their attention.
"Everyone, please," he said, his voice warm and proud. "I just want to say congratulations. Today was our very first day, and it was an absolute success. You all worked so hard, you were so patient, and you did an amazing job. I couldn't have asked for a better team."
A cheer went up from the group, and Kevin smiled.
"To celebrate," he continued, "I'm treating everyone to dinner tonight. There's a great Korean restaurant just across the street, they have wonderful food, and I think we all deserve to relax and enjoy ourselves after such a busy day."
The group agreed happily, and soon they were seated at tables in the cozy, warm atmosphere of the restaurant. They ate delicious food, shared stories of the day's events, and laughed together as they celebrated their achievement.
At one point, Kevin noticed Colette sitting nearby, holding a glass filled with a strong drink and taking frequent sips. "Colette, take it easy. You don't handle alcohol well."
She waved him off with a tipsy smile. "I can handle it, boss. Don't worry."
Kevin shook his head with a small laugh, but he didn't press the matter further. The celebration continued for a while longer, but eventually, everyone began to head home one by one.
When most people had left, Kevin looked over and saw Colette sitting alone at the table. Her head was resting slightly against her hand, her eyes half-lidded, and she was slumping forward slightly, clearly, she had drunk more than she realized, and she was thoroughly intoxicated.
He let out a soft sigh, knowing it would be difficult for her to get home on her own in this state.
Kevin sighed. "Come on. I'll take you home."
He stepped outside and drive to her address.
When they arrived, Kevin gently guided her up to her apartment. He unlocked the door with the spare key she had given him earlier and helped her inside.
Colette turned to him, her cheeks flushed and eyes hazy with alcohol and something more.
"Kevin…" she whispered, her French accent thicker than usual.
She leaned in, pressing her body against his, her hands sliding up his chest.
