Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15 : FRAGMENTS THAT DON'T BELONG

Keira didn't sleep that night.

Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the same thing.

A white hallway.

A door with no number.

And a voice calling her a name she couldn't fully hear.

"Ai…sha…"

She sat up sharply in bed, breathing unevenly.

The room was silent, but her mind wasn't.

Something was breaking inside her thoughts.

Not pain.

Recognition.

Meanwhile — Kelvin

Kelvin stared at the note again in his room.

SHE IS WATCHING.

But now, it didn't feel like a warning anymore.

It felt like a sentence someone had already started writing.

His phone vibrated.

A message from Laura:

Stop getting closer to her. People are noticing.

Kelvin frowned.

Before he could reply, another message came in.

This time… from Keira.

Are you awake?

He froze.

Then slowly typed back:

Yes.

A pause.

Then her reply:

I can't sleep. My head feels… split.

Kelvin sat up immediately.

Where are you?

No reply.

Then another message came:

I think I remember something that isn't mine.

Kelvin's grip tightened.

This was it.

The beginning.

The next morning — school corridor

Keira walked in slowly, like the building itself was heavier than usual.

But she wasn't alone.

Laura stood at the end of the corridor, watching her.

Not openly.

Carefully.

Like someone studying a threat they didn't fully understand.

And Laura wasn't just watching Keira.

She was watching Kelvin too.

Because he was already there.

Standing close to Keira.

Too close.

Laura's expression tightened.

"So it's true," she whispered.

She had been trying not to admit it.

But she could see it now.

Kelvin wasn't just investigating Keira anymore.

He was drawn to her.

And worse…

Keira was drawn back.

Keira & Kelvin

"I didn't sleep," Keira said softly.

Kelvin looked at her closely. "You texted me something strange."

Keira hesitated. "I don't remember sending it properly."

Kelvin frowned. "You don't remember?"

She pressed her fingers to her temple.

"It's like… there are two versions of me thinking at once."

Kelvin stepped closer. "What do you mean?"

Keira looked at him.

And for a moment, her expression shifted.

Not confusion.

Recognition.

"I feel like I've known you longer than this place says I have."

Kelvin didn't answer.

Because something about that statement felt dangerous.

Not wrong.

Just… unfinished.

Across the corridor — Laura

Laura saw everything.

The closeness.

The way Keira looked at him.

The way Kelvin didn't step back.

Her jaw tightened.

So that's how it is.

She turned away, pulling out her phone.

They are getting closer. It's affecting her memory stability.

No name.

No contact.

Just a hidden message sent into the system.

Keira (inside her mind)

The world flickered for a second.

Just a second.

And she wasn't in the corridor anymore.

She was in a hospital room.

Machines beeping.

A hand holding hers.

A voice saying:

"Don't let them change your name again."

Her breath caught.

She blinked—

And she was back.

Standing in front of Kelvin.

But now she was shaking.

"I saw something," she whispered.

Kelvin stepped closer. "What did you see?"

Her voice cracked slightly.

"I don't know if it was real… or if I'm becoming someone else."

Kelvin

Before he could respond, Laura appeared behind him.

"Kelvin."

His head turned.

Laura's eyes were sharp.

"You need to stop this."

Keira immediately stiffened.

Laura didn't look at her.

She looked at Kelvin.

"You're affecting her."

Kelvin frowned. "What are you talking about?"

Laura's voice lowered.

"Every time you get close, her memory errors increase. Her identity instability is getting worse."

Keira stepped back slightly.

"What… did you just say about me?"

Laura finally looked at her.

And for the first time, it wasn't fear in her eyes.

It was concern mixed with something deeper.

"I think you're not stable around him."

Silence hit like a blade.

Keira looked at Kelvin.

Then Laura.

And something painful flickered in her eyes.

"So this is what I am to you?" she asked softly.

Kelvin stepped forward. "That's not what she means."

But Keira was already backing away.

Because something inside her had just formed a new thought.

A dangerous one.

If I stay near him… I disappear faster.

Final moment

As she turned away, she heard Kelvin call her name.

But it didn't sound like just a name anymore.

It sounded like something she was losing.

And Laura watched from behind Kelvin…

…realizing something worse.

It wasn't just a triangle.

It was a collapse.

Of memory.

Of identity.

And of trust.
