Vincent just nodded in response to her question. After she had left his room, he had ordered Mrs Sandra to get ointment and the most effective birth control pills from the nearest pharmacy.
Rose focused on her food, not bothering to look up.
"I'm going to the office now. If you need anything, just call me" Vincent said as he stood up, carrying the briefcase on the table.
Rose thought of something. She picked up the small designer bag next to her chair and quickly followed behind him.
"Mr. Vincent, actually I'm going out now. Can you please drop me off?" Rose said, putting on her most innocent expression.
Vincent turned to look at her. She was dressed in a blue, flowing short gown that showed off her shape well, with a V-shaped cut at the chest exposing her cleavage. The gown fit her perfectly.
"Have you taken the medicine?" Vincent asked, glancing at the table.
"Oh"Rose said as she turned back, remembering she hadn't taken it yet. She ran to the table to take it, stealing side glances at Vincent as if he might leave without her.
After taking it, she hurried back to him.
Vincent walked out of the house, and Rose followed behind him like a duckling.
He went straight to the driver's seat and got in. Rose quickly rushed to the passenger seat.
"Where exactly are you going?" Vincent asked, his hands resting on the steering wheel.
"Um… Café Falls" she replied.
Vincent knew where Café Falls was; it was along the same route as his company.
Soon, they were on the road.
Rose noticed that Vincent kept checking his side-view mirror, especially whenever he saw a black car or van nearby. She found his behavior strange but said nothing.
It also seemed like he already knew the way to Café Falls, so she didn't need to give directions.
The drive was silent. Neither of them spoke, making the atmosphere feel a bit awkward.
Soon, Vincent stopped in front of Café Falls.
Rose unbuckled her seatbelt, smiled, and muttered a quiet "thank you" which Vincent heard clearly.
"What time are you leaving here?" his deep voice filled the car.
Rose turned to look at him. "Maybe around four or so"
"I come back to pick you up. Don't leave until you see my car here" Vincent said firmly.
Rose nodded without questioning him.
Suddenly, she noticed Vincent leaning closer toward her. Caught off guard, she froze as his face moved close to hers.
"I didn't tell you… you look very pretty today" Vincent murmured, his breath brushing against her neck.
She felt his lips on her neck, and her body reacted instantly, a wave of sensation spreading through her.
"Vincent, stop!" Rose snapped, pushing him away immediately.
She suddenly remembered her decision no more intimacy between them and she meant it.
Using that moment, she quickly got out of the car and slammed the door behind her.
Vincent watched her walk into Café Falls, a faint grin appearing on his face.
Only after she disappeared from his sight did he drive off.
