I look at the space before me, where a sky-blue ball of light is floating. It feels like an egg that is about to hatch.
"Are you going to hatch like a chicken?" I say jokingly, trying to suppress my laughter at my own joke.
"…"
The seed doesn't respond to my fabulous joke.
"Okay, okay, act like a tsundere. I'm not offended."
As soon as I finish speaking, the ball of light suddenly begins to grow, expanding to the size of a beach ball. Its shape starts to change, forming limbs and a body.
Slowly, it takes the form of a child, seemingly made of light—like a holy angel descending from heaven.
As the glow dims slightly, I can finally make out her appearance.
Fair, pale skin. Long white hair that falls all the way to her knees. She opens her eyes, and they shine like polished silver coins.
Her body lacks clear gender traits, but her face and long hair give her a feminine presence.
She looks like a porcelain doll.
"Quite a light show, huh?" I say, chuckling to myself.
"Why don't you introduce yourself first?"
"…"
The realm spirit just stares at me, completely unamused, as if already tired of me.
She slightly opens her mouth, and a soft, childish voice comes out.
"I am the Realm Spirit."
"…"
"…"
I look at her for a moment, then sigh.
"That's all? No name? Nothing?"
She tilts her head, looking puzzled.
"Name? I said I am the Realm Spirit."
She says it as if there is absolutely no problem with that.
"Come on, I'm not going to call you 'Realm Spirit.' That's way too boring. If you're not going to tell me your name, I'll just pick one myself."
She looks at me like I'm arguing about something completely pointless.
"Hey, don't give me that look. I didn't do anything wrong—I just want to know what to call you," I mumble.
After a short pause, she speaks again.
"Then call me anything."
She sounds bored.
"Alright, then I'll call you… Kali!"
I say it immediately, not giving her a chance to change her mind.
A notification appears with a soft chime.
| Host has bound the Realm Spirit. Initiating synchronization: Realm Spirit 'Kali' with Host. |
A warm sensation spreads through my body.
It's not overwhelming—just… comforting.
At the same time, I feel a connection form between me and Kali.
Not physical.
Something deeper.
Like we're linked on a level I can't fully understand.
"So… what now?" I ask after the feeling fades. "We're still in this empty void with nothing to do."
Kali looks around briefly before answering.
"It is not empty. We are surrounded by high-level spiritual energy that the host is currently unable to perceive."
"…"
Before I can ask what she means, she continues.
"It is similar to the spiritual energy in the host's memories."
"…You can read my thoughts now?"
"Yes."
"…Great."
I sigh.
"So what am I supposed to do?"
Kali looks at me calmly.
"The host's current level is too low to properly control the realm and lacks the required knowledge. I will guide the host through the early stages of realm creation."
"That's good, but… what exactly will you do?" I ask, genuinely curious now.
"The host does not meet the requirements to fully understand the process," she replies without hesitation. "It is recommended that the host increase the level of their existence before attempting to acquire such knowledge."
"…And how am I supp—"
She cuts me off before I can finish.
"The host will now be placed into hibernation during the initial realm creation process."
"Wait, what—"
She raises her slender finger and gently points it at my forehead.
A small speck of golden light shoots forward.
The moment it touches me, my vision goes white.
And then—
Everything goes dark.
